Great product
Pros: High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"I find these bars great for long rides as they are quite a decent size. They definitely give me a boost prior to long hard climbs. I have these with the SIS Go Electrolyte drink and find they work great together."

Actually great value
Pros: Great Value, tasty, nutritious, not really that expensive
"I'm "Value for Money" all the way. This made it quite a painful step to actually give energy bars a go. A quid a bar - they're having a laugh surely! I'd convinced myself that malt loaf and breakfast bars were perfectly adequate and energy products are yet another way to waste money.
I've got some history with these things. 20 years ago for awhile I paid too much money for some tiny blocks of shredded newspaper coated in fat (thats what they tasted like to me), needless to say I was not impressed.
On an 82 mile sportive last October I was handed a GO Bar at the start line, bit bigger than I imagined but I remained sceptical. Towards the end of the ride I gave it a go and was actually pleasantly surprised.
But that was it for the season so thought no more of it. Then my birthday in November saw some cycle training books find their way on to my bookshelf. Reading about how important fuel is when riding and how a cappucino and toasted teacakes do not rate as highly as most clubmen realise.on the sunday cafe stop got me worrying that I might be missing something here.
Suddenly I found myself signed up for the 2010 L'Etape du Tour and now I've got to get serious about fuelling myself during rides. You need to establish your nutrition strategy well in advance of your big rides - these products might not agree with you...
So with my first big sportive of the year looming in the hills around Ashdown and an end to the worst winter spell in 30 years - FINALLY I've tried these bars in anger and taken a couple of GO Bars on my training ride.
This kind of fuel is actually best consumed right from the beginning of the ride from what I've read. Little and often is the mantra so from the off I'm nibbling a bit every four miles or so on my 73 mile ride upto the halfway mark. GO bars tick the boxes for me; no tummy ache; chocolate and orange are tasty but the citric twang of orange and the subtle bitter undertone of chocolate stop them from being sickly; the consistency of the bar is spot-on, no crumbling and not overly dry. A tip is to open the bars carefully across the top before the ride and then pull them out of your jersey pocket and ease up a bite size piece. Then let it drop back in and stow back in your pocket.
Coupled with my energy drink I've felt pretty good during the ride and these bars have been a great purchase. The Science in Sport team obviously know what they are doing.
I've spent around £2.00 for the first half of my ride, not much more than the cost of two toasted teacakes at a cafe stop but a different league in terms of nutritional value. Second half of the ride was covered by Gels.
For the performance gain it's definitely money well spent. In a sport where people are riding several grand bikes and £200 sunglasses, don't overlook this important area, buy a box and see for yourself."

硬めです
Pros: 良いバリュー, 高品質
Cons: かさばり
"バー自体は65gと他に比べてやや大きい。
シリアルやらを固めた印象で硬く、食べ応えは十分。
味は好みもあると思いますが、慣れると美味しい。
夏場でも溶けません。

Needs some serious chewing!
"I like these bars. As with most SiS products, I find it doesn't cause stomach problems, it is palatable, does the job and is a UK product! The bars tolerate a reasonable amount of battering in a pocket and still prove edible. The foiled wrapper is strong and keeps the bar secure. However, the wrapper is a fiddle when riding, unless you cut the top off with scissors before your ride.
I downsides I find with the bars are that they take quite a lot of chewing and plenty of water! Although, on a long ride eating a Go Bar does take your mind off aching legs!"

Good energy bar
"I bought these in order to get some slower release carbs on the bike. It is easily digestible. My only consideration is in low tempratures, it becomes very hard and is difficult to eat. Aside from this they are great."

Delicious - Tough To Chew.
Posted March 16, 2012
I agree with David - despite the fantastic banana flavour and the obvious benefits they bring, they are a challenge to bite into when hurtling along! It kills my gums and belive the culprit to be the hardening of the sugar / toffee. I have found if you leave a good bite size chunk in your mouth and slowly suck it softens eventually.
SIS products are first class!

"Tastes nice enough and seems to do the job but is a little on the large side and cannot be eaten in a couple of mouthfuls."

Cherry vanilla the way forward!
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
Cons: can be hard to eat when it's very cold
"I always carry a couple of these in my rucksack. They keep me going on long rides and fill a hole when I get the munchies at the end.
I guess some people might find them a bit big / bulky but for me if they were smaller, I'd only end up eating 2!
Although cherry vanilla is my fav, all the flavours are pretty good really."

"Good range of flavours all taste good and nice chewy texture compared to some other bars which can be a bit bland or dry in texture.Decent size makes them ideal for long rides."

"Found the bar to be of good taste and gives a sustained energy boost towards the end of a long ride, when you want something chewable ie. different to a gel."

Great product
"Having not cycled for 20 years I have come back to it recently and great progress has been made in food supplements.
This one is perfect:
- tasty but light taste
- easy enough to digest
- easy enough to chew
- not so easy to get out of the wrapping paper while riding
- very nutricious and efficient. Gives a long lasting boost

Pros: tasy
