Transfil Flying Snake Brake Cable Set

The Carbon Kevlar outer casing makes the Flying Snake 30% lighter than most other cable sets. The Flying Snake is a result of the latest research in transmission technology. It is no doubt the best compromise between lightness and solidity now available. The Flying Snake performs devilishly well under the most extreme conditions.

no a good idea
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"i have had two sets of these cables as they seemed a good product and were a bit different to the normal stuff in my lbs. Sadly the concept of putting a liner insider the outer just creates extra friction and meant after a few months use i my gears would not index. Stick to good old shimano or campag cable sets - they just work."

Quite a 'stiff' cable housing
Pros: Attractive
Cons: stiff
"While the quality is nice, I am disappointed by how 'stiff' and inflexible the cable is."

Great Cable
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality
"You can feel the difference with using this cable and the housing.. very easy to setup and long lasting. Doesnt stretch either. I have both the brake and the gear cables and just love them. Fit and forget. The colours are very nice too but it might not suit everyones taste"

Braking the bank
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I have had a couple of sets of Transfil Flying snake gear cable sets over the past few years, and they have been fantastic, lasting forever. The only problem was a shortage of outer to suit a full cable length outer like on my old Scott Scale. On the back of that I bought some brake cables and wasn't dissapointed. This purchase was to replace the cables on the Single Speed that have been on there for 2 years nearly, through at least 2 British winters. The only reason for the change was the ends were frayed after re-adjusting several times due to pad changes. The fit nicely, and the outer is very hardwearing. Supposedly pretty light too, but wasn't a reason for purchase this time. A cracking set of cables, check out the gear cables too. Only downside is the price. Even more expensive than XTR, but I'd say it was worth it."

Over-priced
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I bought these along with the matching gear cable set. The brake cables are not fully enclosed, unlike the gear cables. The cables are lighter than standad but the outers lack flexibility and the cable doesn't run as smoothly as standard Campag cables and the lack of a full length sheaf was surprising. All in all they're over-priced and offer limited benefits."
