Excellent upgrade for cantis

"My original pads on Tektro cantis were very juddery and a little noisey, especially on the front wheel. These pads are a great upgrade and the brakes are now smooth, powerful and quiet.
Make sure that you get the washers in the right order as there are several options. Read the instructions on the packet before trying to fit them."

An improvement on stock pads

"Bought a Surley Long Haul Trucker for loaded touring, found the stock pads were pretty poor in the wet - Kool stop pads improve this - stopping still not close to caliper brakes on my sports bike, but an improvement.
Worth swaping but the net also has quite a few tips re brake adjustment which can help in combination"

"Used these to replace Tektro that wore out after 3 wet CX races. they are easy to fit, far more duarble and most imprtantly, they stop you well. I've now ridden 4 CX races in the wet & snow and they show no sign of wear"

"competed in the Whinlatter Duathlon and had fitted the new blocks to the rear wheel only to find that after the race the blocks had substantial amout ov wear on them. the race does have a few hard down hills but these blocks i thought should have been able to handle more than they have. i replaced an old pair of kool stop blocks which had previously done four times the work of these new ones and were still in better condition. saying that they did stop me ok and it was very wet."

"These were OK, but they are quite expensive and not well made. Some of the washers would not go easily down the shaft. I had to hammer it into place before I could put them on the bike. Everyone wants simple, easy-to-install brake blocks at a low price. Why are they so hard to find?"

"From the previous reviews, I was expecting more out of these pads. I purchased two sets of the silver compound ones in January - by the beginning of February they'd almost been worn down to nothing and I had to replace them!
They were fitted to my daily commuting hybrid. The first time I used them in the dry they were pretty good, however once it rained I noticed they took a while to stop. After 3-4 weeks use and several cable adjustments to keep up with the wear, it was taking me about 4 times as long to stop as it had with my previous cheaper pads. Another couple of weeks of use and they were becoming dangerous, so off they came.
They were easy to fit and easy to adjust for toe-in, however this was the only benefit. I swapped them out a couple of weeks ago for much cheaper Ashima pads and I'm happier."

"I was expecting great things from these in Salmon given the good reviews on here, however my experience has been at the other end of the scale.
Firstly they squeal like a banshee irrespective of the toe-in they are angled at, secondly they are inconsistent, either grabbing quite strongly or seeming to skim over the rim. When you go for the brakes you don't know what you're going to get. This is accentuated in the wet.
I've tried setting them up at various angles and positions on the rim but to no avail.
I can only assume that they don’t suit the rim (which is a fairly cheap one labelled ‘Crosser and made of 6063) or they were part of a duff batch.
I’m afraid they’ll be going in the bin."

Does the job.
"Yet another set of brake blocks: 2nd replacement in 2 months. It must be all the salt and sand on the roads at the moment. These seem to be a good replacement. They don't make a sound, stop the bike in really heavy rain and are easy to adjust. Will have to wait and see if they last any longer than my last set."

"I recently bought a set of these to replace the stock front brake on a hybrid, and the effect was noticeable. They have great stopping power in both wet and dry (I got the silver version). Haven't had them that long, so can't comment on their durability, but the stop-start of city cycling should soon put them through their paces!"
