Surprisingly good
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, High Quality
"Having a collection of steel framed bikes without replaceable dropouts, and having a touring bike that has never quite shifted properly, i decided it was time to invest in this tool. I wasn't expecting much for around $30Ausd, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this tool when it arrived. I have used the equivalent Park Tool to this in the past, and while the Park Tool is better (heavier duty shop quality), it is not so much better as to justify being 4-5 times the price of this tool. My experience with Cyclus tools is that there upper level "shop" tools are very good, but there low end "home" use tools can be quite poor. This, whilst probably not shop quality, is clearly in the "good" category. For the price Wiggle is selling this tool, you cannot go wrong."

Is your hanger bent
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, High Quality
"Ever noticed that your rear cluster makes clicking noises on the big chainring but not the small one ? Is your changing erratic ? Could be your hanger bracket is bent. This tool makes checking and resetting your hanger very easy. An essential tool for the workshop."

Gear Hanger alignment Tool
Pros: Great Value, Adjustable
Cons: Low Quality
"For the price this is a useful tool to return your bent gear hanger to close to where it should be. However there are some limitations compared to the much more expensive professional tools.
1) The sliding pin provided is about 30mm too short particularly when usining it on very narrow rims.
2) The main arm flexes a great deal which makes adjusting (bending) the hanger a little discincerting.
3) There is some "slop" in the anchor point reducing the tools accuracy, this can be overcome to some degree by the application of some heavy oil.

Works well
Pros: Great Value
"This isn't flashy, it isn't logoed, it isn't powder coated, laser etched or soft handled, but it does exactly what you want a tool like this to do, at minimal cost. It's not often that you want to adjust your hanger, so price is key"

Good for the price
Pros: Great Value, Adjustable, Good Fit
"A pretty good bit of gear, not exactly workshop quality, but good enough for the home mech.
Its easy enough to use.
There is a small amount of slop in the joints, but if you keep an even pressure on the bar when cheking in the different spots you overcome this."

Hanger Delema
Pros: Adjustable
Cons: Low Quality, Poor Fit
"I have used the tool on my trg bike (10 speed shimano). I found slight movement in the tool where it swings off the hanger which meant at least 1.5mm play at the guide end. Also, I found the guide bar was not long enough to contact the wheel rim. I'm afraid that it may be useless with my 11 speed campo race bike."

Disappointing quality
Pros: Great Value
Cons: Low Quality
"Did the job, but there was too much play in the shaft to make it easy to use. However, the end result was vastly improved shifting, so I would buy it again. It will pay for itself."

2 frames saved.
Pros: Great Value, easy to use, effective
"This is the only tool I've used to straighten a bent gear hanger. Took it down to the garage the night I got it, 15 minutes later 2 bikes shifting perfectly which I had been using on friction shifting for months. The only think I had done to teach myself how to use it was watch one video on you tube.
Easy to use. Very effective. It looks durable, but I won't know until I need it again."

good usefull tool
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: no specific instuctions
"Although a bit fiddly, with no specific instructions it works well. You must read/obtain operating instructions from reviews or other more expensive tools i.e.Park tools on line.
With this in mind it did the required job efficently and with cost in mind good value.

Does the job for me
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged
Cons: Low Quality
"If you want a high precision item that will align your derailleur hanger to within a fraction of a degree, don't buy this. If you are happy that the hanger is pointing in a much better direction than what it was when it was bent and now your smooth shifting is restored (like me), this is the tool for you. Now for a small price, I can tweek the hanger back into alignment each time it has contact with something it shouldn't have in the comfort of my own shed."

cheap, easy to use, cheap. Did I say it was cheap?
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: not as pretty as some, no markings on guage
"No measurements on the rim guage but to honest these are redundant on the most expensive equipment as you push till it touches anyway. I used it on a friction gear frame so as not to damage the dropout with the big adjustable so accuracy not so critical but it only took 2 minutes and the job was done. Left the wheel in place and give the tool a couple of pushes in the upright position, checked lateral positions and all ok but nice to be able to check. Looks like it will last a lot longer than me so that'll do. You could make one of these yourself but at this price it can stay in the tool cupboard unused now and I still feel I've had my moneys worth."

Useful piece of kit
Pros: Great Value
"Simple tool to straighten your derailleur hanger.
A normal user will use it once and forget about it, but is still cheaper that going to the workshop to get the work done."

Good Enough
"Well it's not the best of tools, but it is good enough to get an occasional fiddly job done quickly without having to spend >£50.
Construction is fairly robust although the main pivot has a fair amount of play, as mentioned by others. You can work around this. A slightly different design could allow this to be adjusted out without much added cost.
Finish is poor. Maybe just oil blacked. Which comes off everywhere.
The small rod is unmarked so you really need to use it as a gauge rather than for making measurements.
