The perfect saddle

"One reason why I chose the SLR XP is because of its thin layer of padding which for my sport of triathlon is important in order to avoid the potential discomfort which can occur when riding for long periods on or near the nose of the saddle. Having raced several times now on the XP I can report no discomfort or numbness. The saddle fits so well you're hardly aware its there which is of course how it should be. Comfort asside this is also a great looking, high performance and, at only 180g, surprisingly lightweight saddle which I can totally recommend."

"The Selle Italia SLR XP Saddle is made with the highest quality materials. At first I thought a had made a big mistake the saddle seemed too firm and the foam support was too fin compared to my old saddle. It took a couple of rides to discover the saddle had foam to my seat bones. My rear end had become one with the saddle and finally I experienced a ride without pins and needles in my feet. This saddle is a high end performance saddle and once it is worn in (about 150kms) it is one most comfortable saddles you can buy.
I would recommend this saddle to all riders that would performance and comfort from a saddle."

"I got my bike fitted by a guy in Melbourne that has been fitting bikes for 20 + years. He did an amazing job with my fit. I feel way more comfortable and I can get more power through the peddle. He recommended this seat, as he does to everyone. He sells it for $250, and I picked it up on Wiggle for $100! Whilst the seat is very hard, it creates a level seated platform, creating more stability in the peddle stroke and more leverage. A great seat!"

"I tried the regular SLR before this one. The regular SLR is good once you wear it in, but only for about 2-3 hrs. I've ridden on it up to 5hrs, so it is possible, but not always comfortable. The XP model has solved that problem. My second ride on the saddle was a 6hr ride. The shape and support are excellent. Bumps are absorbed. And it looks great."

"Even though it says extra padding, I was a little daunted by the lack of it when I first opened the package. Especially having used a much more padded gel saddle in the past. That said, this is the most comfortable saddle I've used. I've only cycled about 100miles so far, but no pains, and much improved/great freedom of movement. Excellent!"

"I always had cheap selle Italia and Fisik Aliante sport saddle, so usually after an hour I was starting to feel pain.
but not anymore. I do 2 to 3 hours rides and I'm now a pain free and happy cyclist. The saddle is light and look too good for my bike.

"If your nether regions are a good fit for the Selle Italia mould, then you'll get on fine with this saddle. Add bling to your ride

"My search for a new saddle was two fold: Predominantly, I was looking for a saddle for daily use that would alleviate the numbness I get in my toes and be really comfortable to sit on for about 10 hours per week without adding weight to my steed. Secondly, I was looking for something sexy looking, in white, with a streamline profile, to go on my full custom shiny black hardtail to match the other accents of white elsewhere on the bike (grips, bidon cage, etc). In my usual accountant fashion, I researched extensively. Being both quality and price sensitive, I found the Selle Italia SLR XP an obvious choice based on my needs, and haven't been disappointed. From the look (it is absolutely stunning), to the feel (numb toes are getting less and less and I'm getting used to its hardness - which is a good thing), to the weight (in all honesty, when it arrived, I thought the box was empty), it is a superb saddle I will have no hesitation in recommending in this review."

"after having ridden the last 3 years on brooks b17 champion, my bum wanted a change. after completing my due diligence, i chose the xp based on my budget, price, look, style and future use - not in that specific order.
my bum has put 100km on the xp now and i can honestly and brutally say that whilst it was a significant change (from the b17) i'm enjoying how 'flat' it is as well as the many positions you can ride and adjust into due to its length.
i will admit that my perineum took a beating the first time out but you'd expect that with any change to position and saddle.
i do like it's 'narrowness' - compared to the b17 - i feel like my legs are riding closer to the top tube. i feel more comfortable seated while climbing now, there isn't an exagerated effort to keep my knees over my feet.
also fear not, there is relief built into the xp when you shift back into the heart of saddle, albeit minimal.
overall i love it - it's comfortable 'now' that my perineum knows what to expect. he's a good looking saddle and super light.
best of all it's mine."
