An extra breathe
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"As an asthmatic who likes to think she can run- this piece of equipment has helped enormously. Breathing is now easier when running and when I hit the hills it's not as depressing as it used to be. Giving my lungs a workout has now become an important part of my training schedule."

Good But Hard
Pros: Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight
"I train quite a few times a week, I am a swimmer and was competitive for a long time. I got the hardest one and found it very difficult, I have started on level 1 and slowly moved up to level 2.5, I wish I got a medium strength one now. I have not used it long enough to see if my performance has improved."

Review 5 for PowerBreatheClassic Respiratory Trainer
"I've had the red version for about a month now, which is supposedly the harder one. Anyway I've found it to have helped in my breathing quite a bit, I do alot of swimming and cycling and it has helped in keeping me less breathless as I can get bigger breaths in when needed. Overall a good product and I will use if for a long time to come."

No frills. Well made.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable
"If a breath trainer is for you then this is the right one. It gives you what you need at the most competitive price. Not as smart as some but then a breath trainer ain't blingable, or is it?"

PowerBreathe Classic Respiratory Trainer
Pros: Adjustable
"The power breathe is the perfect addition to any athletes arsenal of training tools, the first few times after you have used it you might not feel like you gained any benefits despite the fact that whilst using it it can be really tough. However once you have used it for a while you will notice benefits, but you have to be persistent with it. I am a swimmer and having used it for a while i can see the differences in both my lung capacity and general respiratory effectiveness."

Pros: Great Value, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Quite simply this is a useful training tool. I can't comment on the overall benefits yet, having not used it for a long enough period. What I can say is that it is certainly easy to use, and for the cost the promised benefits seem worthwhile. Also it's handy enough to carry to work and use on your lunch hour."

Breathing easier
Pros: High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"I'm not sure this has had any effect.
I hoped there would be an improvement in my breathing, especially for swimming where it is good if you can do more strokes between breaths.
So far no improvement that I can notice but it may be a bit early. I don't fiond it very comfortabloe to use either."

Great value
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Lightweight
"The lowest price I could find in the world! So far I tried up to the level two, and it is pretty tough. It will take a while for me to get to higher levels. I've not felt any drastic changes yet, but I hope to continue using it and feel the difference in my athletic performance. The wellness version I got for my in-law was also great. The DVD was so much helpful. Thanks for the great product."

PowerBreathe Classic
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Great Value, Lightweight
Cons: naff dvd
"I bought this after a recommendation from a friend with asthma who found that it helped them considerably. I bought the sports model and was a little sceptical at first, disappointed that despite being reasonably fit I could only manage the minumum setting. It's now been a few weeks and my breathing has improved. I seem to have extra capacity for getting up those hills and I am less breathless. I suffer with hayfever but often forget to take my medication so I find that I am able to continue riding and being able to breathe whereas in the past this wouldn't have been possible."

"I did not notice any improvements or maybe I just didn't give it enough time. Definitely not a substitute for getting out on your bike."

PowerBreathe Classic Respiratory Trainer
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Great Value, Lightweight
"A great little piece of training equipment. I have been using it for only 2 weeks and can feel the difference in my breathing. I am slowly increasing the resistance on the trainer to further improve my breathing when cycling and swimming."

The reason the don't accept returns for this...
Cons: Expensive, is not effective
"...if they did, they'd never sell a single one. This is a totally useless product for the average cyclist. Nor will it you in to a better one. My advice is to simply send more time on the bike and forget the PowerBreathe."

Not sure its done much yet
Pros: Adjustable
"Red one for sports training and I have mild exercise-induced asthma. It comes with a DVD and a nose clip (not used). The DVD is ok but mainly refers you to other stuff on website and features the Ironman version which is 2x as expensive. I have used Power Breathe religiously 2x a day for 30 breaths for 4 weeks and as you get stronger you tighten the adjuster to increase the resistance. I suppose it must be doing some good but its not obvious. Raced a half on Sunday and I was limited by breathing rather than legs which was disappointing. Maybe its too early to have had the big affect promised as DVD says that full affect is after 6 weeks then you can go to using it every other day to maintain level. What I would have done differently is I should have done a peak flow before i started and monitored it weekly to see if its improving."

Great Find
"Being a college athlete i have found this product to be very helpfull in strengthening my lungs. I found myself getting winded before using the product and in only a couple of days saw major improvement in being able to breathe with ease."
