Rolls-Royce of Seatposts
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"If you're after the best seat post money can buy look no further. This thing is the bomb. Simple, strong, light and stylish, just simply superb engineering. The in-line version seems better suited for bikes with slacker angled seat tubes but just screams strength and would give a lot of peace of mind to heavier riders or downhillers. The ovalized cross section of the tubing gives the seat post its extra strength without added weight. Its not a new design and the tilt adjustment can be a bit fiddly but its a design that works. Period.
No surprise how many pros use these things.

High quality, easily adjusted
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
"This seatpost is pretty easy to fit and is easily adjusted. Lets face it, your saddle is one of the most important parts on your bike and if it's not set up properly, you're gonna be in pain! Once you've got the correct saddle beneath you, the angle is the next thing you need to sort out. The angle markers on this post make fine tuning your position a doddle, so you can be riding in bliss, sooner rather than later! The quality is high, there are no sharp edges and the gloss finish is awesome. It is strong yet light and looks good on the bike... especially with the matching stem!"

Lighter than most carbon posts, and ++ safer
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"This stick is stiff and light - lighter than my 06 carbon campag chorus- the one with the pinch fracture at the back causing the purchase. I weigh 163lbs and ride aggressively around the challenging tracks (read: poorly maintained roads) around North Glasgow. Had to arrive at a more durable alternative. Thought about the USE Alien for a while, but the clamp is a weakspot and prone to stress fractures - friend cracked his the other day. The design of the Thomson is it's strength- it's not a multitude of pieces stuck together. Also, the fact that it is inline gives more play with getting foward- good for TTs & breakaways. Highly recommended."

Why bother with anything else?
"Bit of a no-brainer this one.
Have had 2 or 3 Thompson posts over the years now. They are simply a class above the offerings from Easton, Controltech, Truvativ and Race Face that I have tried.

Sitting comfortably
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Good product with very high engineering quality and a fuss-free adjustment mech for the seat angle. Light but at the same time deciptively sturdy. Tad expensive, but I suspect this is a product you'll have for life. Very good buy."

Looking Good
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I was building a track bike / fixie and basing the build on some of the higher spec examples out there which either seem to use NJS approved seat posts or the Thomson Elite or Masterpiece. My view was expensive.. but good quality and look the part, so went for it. Arrived well protected within its own cotton bag .. very well machined and clearly a quality piece of work. I saw the instructions with it and thought.. yep.. seat post.. what’s to go wrong.. then installed the top bracket on back to front by assuming the logo went to the rear.. wrong.. seat wouldn’t sit flat.. read instructions.. corrected this.. looks great, works fine, no slip or saddle movement so far at all. Hopefully the bike will be with me for years to come.. so I think the investment in getting it right from the start is worth it."

Solid, one can trust in the post.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
"If you have the extra hard cash in your hand buy only their TITANIUM seat posts.
Not watering down their other range of seat posts, they are reliable and should last your many a long year.
What will it take to bend this seat post?
i will let know when i find out.

Light and strong
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"Light and strong seatpost. I don't put it through too much stress myself but am assured in my riding by positive reports from others who have. One strange point is that the spacing between my standard saddles rails does not match the spacing between the channels in the Thomson clamp - unlike other seatposts - until you tighten the allen bolts, which presumably is setting up additional horizontal stress on the saddles rails. The tighten/tilt bolts are also quite close to the clamp so a separate allen key would be easier for adjustments rather than using the standard folding park/multi allen key tool. A separate key you don't get but you do get a fancy, useless canvas carrying bag."

Great seatpost
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"Very lightweight seatpost and very strong. There's not much choice in straight seatposts in 25.0mm diameter, but this one's great! A pity I'm going to have to chop off more than half the post to fit my frame. :-P"

Great seat post
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I have had Thompson Elite seat posts on a number of mountain bikes and have never had a problem. They are very strong and nearly as light as a carbon post.
In a recent 100km event I had a carbon seat post break on a new carbon XC bike. I have now replaced it with a new Thompson elite post and I certainly feel a lot more confident when riding the rough trails.
