Great bag, does what it is supposed to do

"I've used this so far riding long hardtail routes on norwegian mointains, it carries a mini pump, tools, extra tube, tube repair kit, fruits, bars, phone, keys, extra gloves, windbreaker and once or twice I've managed to push an old slr into it as well. The closing mechanism hasn't failed once, although it feels a bit risky at moments it has kept all things safe and dry.

Obtw, did I mention I live in one of the rainiest cities in Europe? On average it rains 213 days of the year here, two years back we had rain for 84 consecutive days. This bag keeps stuff bone dry, even in the heaviest rainfall."

Good but a bit tricky to fit

"I bought this as the zip on the small bag that I was using broke. I went for Ortlieb as I already have a bag of theirs which has lasted very well. My main issue with the saddle bag is the complexity of fitting it to the saddle. It took me an hour of fiddling about. Now that it is on it is OK and is s good size to take the spare inner tube, tyre levers and other gubbins that I like to carry around. The next challenge will be to fit a rear light to it."

Useful Bag

"The large saddle bag was bougth for taking my shous for Fitnesscenter becuase my rucksack with laptop, cloths and towel was too small. My shous with size 43 suits not perfectly in the saddle bag - but it works, So my rating dosent reach 5 stars. Overall the suggested attribute fits to 90%.

Great for Audax and all day rides

"This bag is sturdy, waterproof and holds a lot. It is the best thing I've found for loading up a road bike for a long day out without impacting the performance of the bike too much. My only issue has been that the mounting bracket didn't fit properly onto one of my bike's saddles."

Great bag for short tours

"Bought this bag for a one week tour in Belgium. Great for long rides of 4 hrs plus where you want to take extra bars/kit etc without filling your back pockets to the hilt!

Not really for long touring rides, as simple not big enough. But for a 4 to 6 hr ride with return to base/hotel it's perfect!"

If you need a big-ish bag...

Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, doesn't get in the way of your legs

Cons: Unattractive

"It doesn't get in your way at all as you ride. True- it really is amazingly waterproof - like 100%! This surprised me. The closure is a bit novel, but fine once you get used to it.
The construction is 'semi-rigid' with fabric sides and semi-rigid top and bottom. It works well.
The closure can be rolled up 2, 3 or 4 (even 5) times, thus allowing you to keep all your stuff tightly packed and not rattling around regardless of how much or how little is in there.
Make sure you use the supplied mounting bracket. Other brackets might look similar, but they will let go on a big bump."

Nice bag, but...

"Nice bag but no additional pockets (zipped, velcro, stud fastener, tie, or whatever. One would be nice).

Easy to fit? No, not unless you have:

1. A very small frame (and the seatpost sticks out a mile)

2. A novel way of securing the seatpost that doesn't involve a clamp, which, as it happens, fouls the locating point of the bag (that should sit against the seatpost), therefore rendering my bag unuseable. The bag cannot be adequately adjusted to accommodate this problem, and before you ask, my seatpost is not completely retracted into the frame.*

A saddle bag with space to carry something

"I bought this primarily to put on my commuter so that having my shoes at home didn't mean an excuse to wimp out and hop in the car. It actually [just] fits my size 9s in which I think is pretty impressive for a saddle bag. I was actually looking for something that could actually do this but was reluctant to buy rack and panniers just for commuting.

When not stuffed full of shoes it allows me to carry clothes and towels to and from work without having to have a 'car day'.

Does not rub on my bib tights when pedalling and does not wag around like a dogs tail. Contrary to some other comments I see no problem with the buckle unless you over fill the bag. As the bag has a roll top you can get it half closed and perhaps think you've done enough to close it.

I'm not sure I would like to carry anything weighty around in it but for how I use it I am very happy."

ロングライドは今までリュックでしたが、
これなら輪行袋、パンク修理セット、着替え、携行食などが入り、リュックは不要です。
取り外しも簡単。
外した時の持ち運びも止め具が持ち手になるので持ち易いです。
もちろん雨に濡れても中の荷物が濡れる事はありません。
小さな輪行袋なら１泊くらいの旅行でも大丈夫でしょう。
私は予備としてシートゥーサミットのウルトラシルデイバックを入れています。"

Ortlieb Large Saddle Bag

"Holds 2 base thermals, raincoat, tools & tubes, mobile, wallet etc.

Have tested this on a 3 hours ride on my road bike, no leg rubbing, no problems.

Will be mounted on my road bike for 200kms rides & night rides where rain or cold weather is anticipated.

I have used Ortlieb products for many years and this saddle bag is up to their usual standard: excellent quality, will be completely waterproof.

Mounting and removal: Clip in and clip out 20 seconds.

No problems at all, highly recommended.

Prior comments re buckle falling open should be ignored: same clasp as the Orltlieb Classic Panniers that I have ridden through rivers with.

Just make sure you fold that you roll/fold the bag enough times before closing it (ie.dont overfill the bag)."

love this bag

"I bought this bag to carry the essentials on long rides and due to a carbon fibre seatpost was reluctant to use anything that clamped.So far I have been extemely pleased with it's performance.I have yet to test it's waterproof-ness however. It was very easy to attatch to my seat . My only criticisms is that it lacks anywhere to hang a light- this would be great."

防水性に関してはまだ未体験なのでなんとも言えませんが、ORTLIEB独特のロールアップ式で安心感はあります。
これにツールボトルさえあれば2泊ぐらいのロングツーリングは余裕です。"
