campagnolo centaur 10 speed cassette 13-29
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Versatile
"In 2003, I purchased a Look 381i with a Chorus/Record mix of components. The rear derailleur was a medium cage Chorus mechanism. The cassette was 12-26 Chorus. As time wore on, my 58 year old legs have been having some trouble with my local 18% to 26% grades, so the extra gear of a 13-29 was appealing. The Centaur 13-29 went on easily, and did not even require adjustment of the rear derailleur. The spacers are plastic and so are suspect, but time will tell. After several rides totaling 100 miles, the 13-29 cassette has functioned perfectly. I would recommend it as a replacement for 10 speed Campagnolo cassettes."

Brilliant value
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive
"After about 10,000 miles and three chains it was time to replace the old Chorus 10-speed cassette. Since that model appears to have been discontinued it was a decision between spending more on Record or less on Centaur. Problem with Record, besides cost, is those Titanium cogs which wear out faster. Decided to try this one and have no regrets -- can't tell any difference riding it and shiny chrome is/looks brilliant.."

Very Cost Effective
"Centaur is probably the most cost effective group Campy has to offer. Unless you are into high end racing and brand name, Centaur is the way to go."

Campag Centaur Cassette
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Good Fit
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"My bike is twelve months old this month and to my surprise I find a cog has lost two teeth. This may have happened some weeks ago when a spoke broke. The Superstore in Mornington said they would claim warranty but to no avail. They have not seen it happen before. Campag need to understand that cassettes have a life expectancy as long as anything else on the bike."

Great Value and Performance
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"Bought this for a set of training wheels. I already have Chorus cassette and didnt want to spend big on a second cassette. This centaur cassette does the job perfectly. Its a bit heavier than the Chorus version but so far shift perfectly . All good."

Great Value
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: plain looking
"I have used this cassette with Chorus group to get some different ratio's, I previous had 23-11 chorus, now I have 26-13 centaur. The cassette may be slightly heavier on a scale but I could not notice by hand. The shift quality is slightly better if anything and it was very easy to fit. The 26 cog is a large pressed steel gear which does not look quite as trick as the chorus aluminum centered gear, but at about half the price - who's complaining! I have also tried veloce 25-12 to centaur 25-11 and was also pleased with that result. In general a quick shifting, positive feeling gear set at a reasonable price. But when I win the lotto I would like to have chorus or record for bragging rights!"

"Not that much difference in a cassette actually but this one offers great value at the higher range of Campagnolo. The little I've tried of it offerd hazzle-free shifting and performance"

Very nice
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"This is only the second cassette I've ever owned, but I love it so far. It works quite well with the rest of my system. I have the 13-29 with a compact crank and am happy with the range of gears (especially for the mountains where I live)."

Middle
Pros: Great Value
"This cassette is reasonable value for money, but I'd probably go for a Chorus unit if they hadn't moved them to 11 speed... This years Centaur cassette has 10 individual sprockets, unlike the old ones with the two biggest ones as a single piece. This means that the assembly instructions that Campag ships with the cassette makes no sense... I've found this cassette pretty noisy, the clear plastic spacer (most of them are black) squeaks when in one of the gears either side of it (even lube hasn't helped). Otherwise, I'm expecting to get at least 15000kms out of it."
