Transfil Shimano MTB Brake Cable Inner

For 50 years, Transfil has created, developed, tested and manufactured brake and gear systems for your bike in conformity with the leading bicycle and component manufactures and for every outdoor use : extreme, road and mountain biking.
A cable is composed of an inner core and an outer core. The inner core is composed of one steel thread surrounded by 6 threads making one strand. At this point a simple strand or multi-strand cable can be produced. The composition of a single strand cable is (1+6) + 12 = 19 threads, and a multi-strand is (1+6) x 7 = 49 threads.
Lasers have been set in place to increase production as well as to control the diameter on a permanent basis and in case of any anomalies stop the machine. Each laser sends out the information acquired to a central computer unit where statistics and analysis can be retrieved.

"I changed the front and back brakes and then installed this cable for the brakes at the back. Thus I can tell what is due to the brakes and what is due to the cable and I LOVE how this cable feels. It is very smooth and gives a great response under your hand. It allows fine control and is definitely long enough for any bike (had to cut quite a chunk off)"

"I got this to replace a frayed, oxidised, rusty brake cable on a mountain bike I got given. And now I have a rear brake that works, all for the cost of £1.75 and ten minutes of my time. Just remember to use a good pair of cable cutters and crimp on a cable cap when you're done, and you might need to re-adjust as most cables stretch with first use."

WHY PAY MORE FOR THE SAME?

"A cable is a cable. However, the more I cycle the more I seem to fray them and the more they stretch! I don't see a reason to pay more when any cable is likely to be facing the elements year in year out. My current cable was replaced due to fraying. Only pay more if you are a fair weather cyclist as they rust, fray etc anyway. I would be interested if others have other opinions though."

"Easy to fit. Made a big difference to my braking smoothness. No instructions. DO NOT CUT CABLE INNER UNTIL FINALLY THREADED THROUGH OUTER. I had to buy this cable as I made the above mistake with another cable inner which frayed and prevented me feeding it through the outer. There were no instructions with the K.ble complete brake cable set."

"All I can say about this cable is that I certainly wouldn't consider buying any other. It was a price that I liked very much and so far this cable has managed to move my V-brakes about their pivot many times with once doing something wrong - a truely beautiful product at a price to make your pocket jump for joy. I really liked the card packaging as it has an organic feel and is without doubt more environmentally friendly than a plastic bag. It would be nice to receive free grease with new cables but with all the recent cuts in spending I can't see that happening very soon. If you need a new cable, buy this one with real confidence."
