Great product
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
"Normally I use clincher tyres but I have just bought a carbon wheel to go with my disc for a time trial bike. The first time i used this tape I messed up a bit by not centering the tyre correctly and creasing the tape a lot and wasted half a roll.
A tip for you all which I came up with.
run the tape around the rim and without removing the waxed side install the tyre and inflate to normal pressure, this will press the tape into the rim. I left mine a day for the tape to stick securely but a few hours may be enough. Then let down the tyre and without removing it gently lift it clear of the rim and gently start peeling the wax paper from the tape working around the rim without completely removing the tyre. Doing it this way I found that you can adjust the tyre without the tape coming back of the rim

sticky stuff
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable
"Does what its supposed to, it sticks tubs on real easy, I find its easier to stick to rim then take all the brown protective coat off then you can still maneuver the tub to get straight before pumping tire up, so all good would use again"

Great Option to Gluing Tubulars
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality
"I've found the prep process of gluing tubular tires onto rims to be laborious.
I've also used Tufo's tape before. While the plastic backing is nice because it is not prone to ripping like the paper backing used by Jantex, the downside I've found is that when you remove a tire, the Tufo tape tends to stick, or remain on the rim, versus peel off with the tire. This makes rim prep more difficult prior to installing a new tire. The Jantex tape on the other hand seems to stick to the fabric casing of the tire and leaves minimal glue residue which is easy to remove with solvent.
The issues many reviewers have with Jantex's paper backing tearing in the process of final installation is manageable provided that you follow the common recommendation. Use the pencil method (I use a philips head screwdriver that has a round shaft) to separate the tire from the rim just placed just ahead of the tape being peeled. Peel back two or three inches of tape at a time - e.g. - be patient.
Two other things that seem to make the final tape removal easier: (1) As you apply the tape to the rim, be careful to minimize any tape getting up onto the very edges of the rim. When you first inflate your tires to bed the tape onto the rim, any tape on the edge tends to get slightly folded onto the outer sidewall of the rim, causing a stress point that is more prone to ripping. (2) Make sure the air pressure in the tire is low, or just high enough to maintain a round shape in the tire, when you are removing the final paper layer. This allows you to pull the tire away from the rim by hand if you need more working room to get at the tape. It also allows you to easily recenter the tire onto the rim for the final placement.
I did a crit and a road race recently on tires secured by the Jantex tape. Speeds hit 45+ in the road race. The crit had a 90 degree corner that followed a 35 mph hill descent that required standing on the crank with the outside foot to maintain a line. I had no indication or any concern that a tire might roll off the rim.
Bottom line, I like the Jantex tape. I've ordered more of it to have it on the shelf. Be patient with the backing removal. I think you'll like it over glue."

Velox Tubular / Tub Tape
Cons: Low Quality, tape backing is paper
"Do not buy this product. The tape backing is paper based. Once you mount the tubular and you start to pull the tape it rips no matter how gentle you are with it. A complete waste of time"

Simple, clean and does the job
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight
"I've raced on tubulars for nearly 20 years and have almost always used tape.
This tape is simple to apply and holds the tub fast, i've used it for road racing, time trails and criteriums without issue.
Wouldn't recommend for cyclo cross and low pressure tubulars due to the higher forces involved.
Jantex tape has always been consistent in its quality, will definitely buy again.

Pros: Great Value
"Good value. One pack can be used for two tubulars and it does the job to hold the tubular firmly to the rim. The only problem is very difficult to remove the covering paper compare to the tufo tape."

失敗
Cons: 質の低さ
"ほぼ2本分の長さ。粘着力弱し。テープの粘着部分のカバーが、紙製なので、ミヤタのテープと同様のやり方では途中ですぐ来れてしまい、失敗した。"

Better option than glue
Pros: Durable, Adjustable, Versatile, comes off cleanly
"Holds the tyre firmly in place, but its easy to take the tyre off, and more importantly, when change time comes around, it comes off easily and there is very little gunk to clean off the tyre."

Pros: Great Value
"good cheap tape, though not as easy to use as some others.
When you get used to it you have no problems.
I pull all the backing tape off first before i put the tub on as the paper rips otherwise.
Plastic backed tape is better but this is half the cost.
I do ask myself why save a few dollars on cheaper tap when tubs cost so much. The answer is because the tape is fine!

Difficult to put on
"Sticking the tape to the rim is easy but that is about it. Once you put the tyre on taking the paper off the tape is impossible without it breaking. Very, very frustrating. The tape does stick well to both the rim and tyre but not around the valve stem."

A massive faff - but works out ok in the end.
Pros: Great Value
Cons: backing strip rips
"OK. So before I get into it. I have used this tape successfully to mount my first tubs ever. So it can't be that bad.
BUT, it was quite stressful. Essentially the backing strip which you peel off to stick it to the underside of the tub (with tyre mounted) is very easily ripped.
As such you end up with a half stuck tyre while backing tape remains underneath half the tyre. What I had to do was carefully pull each part of the tyre off and remove the tape while remounting it straight. It worked. But I think the tape did end up a bit uneven in places.
Tufo tape has a more plasticky backing tape compared to the papery tape used by Jantex. I would go with that next time (even though it's more expensive)"

Jantex Velox Tubular Tyre Tape
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, Lightweight, Good Fit, clean and mess free
Cons: weak backing tape
"Excellant alternative to glue for Tubular tyres. My tip is to buy a couple of reels, its cheap enough as the first application is really a trial run if you havent used before. Very easy to apply, and quick. I estimate about 1/2 hour to fix a tyre from start to finsish on a wheel. Very clean, neat and strong finish. No mess as with glue. On the whole a great product which I highly recommend. However, the only down side I note is the backing tape which is not strong and tears easily when being removed for applying the tyre, if not slow and careful."

Convenient
Pros: easy to apply
Cons: can get twisted up when applying the tire
"Convenient and easy to apply, but the tape can get twisted when you put the tire on (if you haven't applied tubulars before they're very tight).
The tape works fine though but for me I'll be getting glue next time. That's just me though as I like everything just so."

Great
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I really like this tub tape and have never had any issues with it when putting a tub on use a short pencil.
This helps with putting the tub on and speeds up getting the backing tape off. Put the pencil between the tub and the rim and as you move it around remove the backing tape."

Not bad
Pros: Great Value, Good Fit
Cons: backing tape tears easily
"The tape does stick well ... my only complaint would be the backing tape is very weak. With other tapes I have fitted the tape to the wheel with the backing paper still on, seated the tub on the wheel then removed the backing tape exposing the tub to the tape. The problem with this tape is the backing tape tears very easily so for me at least, this method was not really possible."
