"not easy to fit as a bit floppy. But work well - 4 thorns in tyre, but no puncture"

Got them on all my bikes!
Pros: High Quality
"I find that these slime liners are brilliant.
Really reduces the incidence of punctures on rides, which is particularly useful on mucky night rides. Usually the puncture finally happens in the middle of the night, so I wake up to a flat, which is so much nicer to repair in the luxury of my kitchen rather than the trail.
It also means I can use nice soft grippy tyres which puncture easily.
Note - if your tyres are quite wide and soft you might find these cause punctures so they dont suit all tyres."

Only bad thing I've ever bought from wiggle
Pros: good for tube makers
Cons: Low Quality, Poor Fit, causes punctures fiddly to fit
"I bought and fitted these to my Scott Scale a couple of months back, after using for 4 weeks I got a rear flat, on removing the tyre I was amazed to find lots of black dust. Looking at the inner tube it showed rubbing wear around the whole circumference of the tube. Basically the Tyre Liner had destroyed the inner tube causing the puncture (Tyres ‘Racing Ralphs’ tubes Gearx) typical running pressure 40psi. Do NOT buy this product its rubbish it CAUSES punctures not protects against them. If you use your bike off-road the continual flexing of your tyres from flints etc will cause the liners to destroy your tubes. When I got home after the trip I also removed the front wheel, this had worn the tube as well but not quite as much probably because of the reduced weight on the front tyre. It’s not my weight I only weigh 72kg. The black stuff on the picuure is rubber fron the inner-tube."

Work well
Pros: Durable, High Quality
"I have used slime liners for many years. They are excellent and this purchase was for my girlfriend's bike. she had been suffering a number of punches from small thorns and this has now been eliminated.
from experience the only catch is to make sure that the inner tube does not get pinched up into the liner. If you find you have puncture straight after fitting a slime liner this is probably the cause.
much better value and Slime liquid because they last forever!"

Didn't stop me getting punctures
Cons: didn't seem to work
"I bought these for my 2nd trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Spain, hoping they would reduce the amount of punctures I ended up with from all the thorns that every plant seems to posses over there.
Well, I punctured at least as often as the year before, perhaps even more.
A couple of the punctures were clearly attributable to the ends of the slime liner. You could see the curved shape of the end of the liner, with a hole along the line.
The liners come with a greasy coating and perhaps this was causing the tube to stick to the liner & be dragged round causing the holes, but there was no advice to remove this before fitting.
I also used some farly wide tyres (Spesh Enduro's) & the liner didn't seem wide enough to cover the entire width."

A game of two halves
Pros: Durable
"I encountered a plethora of punctures, from hawthorn needles on the trail, at that time of year, when they are prevalent. A former vehicle Roadside Assistance expert recommended Slime to me, and advised me to try it. I fitted Slime to both tyres on my hardtail and enjoyed a dearth of punctures for two years. Last year, I switched to a full suspension outfit, and automatically fitted Slime to both tyres. To my surprise, I suffered a series of pinch flats. On examination, I could see that the tube had been pinched between the rim and the edge of the Slime. My learning experience was to follow the advice of the Roadside Engineer, and to glue the Slime in position inside the tyre, so that it could not slip to one side and pinch the tube, on big hits. I also would advise running the tyres at high pressures, to help mitigate the risk of a pinch flat. I don't know whether a 'full suss' bike is more susceptible, or whether I drive it harder on rough terrain, but it certainly had not been a problem on the hardtail."

Bulletproof
Pros: Durable, Rugged
Cons: fiddly
"OK, so they add weight, but after getting multiple punctures on rides from the javelins....sorry thorns where i ride, these have sorted the problem. Even slime couldn't seal the holes. They are fiddly to fit and it has to be done properly or else you can get a pinch puncture from them but worth it in the end."

Good alternative to expensive tyres
"These are an excellent addition to any bike. Very easy to fit, just push them in between inner tube and tyre and I've had mine on my commuting bike for years and never had a puncture even through glass and all sorts. They wont stop any punctures from the side wall but I'm not sure what your riding through to get these."

A real time-saver
Pros: Great Value, Rugged
"I've been using slime for years and it has prevented no end of punctures. The one time my tyres were slime-less after a major refit I had two flats on the same ride after having gone months with no problems. It has paid for itself many times over in saved tube costs to say nothing of the aggravation I've avoided."
