Professional
Pros: Adjustable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile, simple to use
"I have tried many different brands and this stand is the one that can't be beaten.
It is very easy to unfold/fold up, holds everything from big chunky MTB frames to thin carbon TT frames and is simple to adjust the height and angle.
I was very pleased when I recently saw out the back in the workshop of a very good bike shop that the mechanics all used this model.
With it so easy to use, you even end up cleaning your bike more often.
One of the most necessary tools you will need, so get one that is good."

Great Quality
Pros: High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile
"Having bought an expensive bike, I decided it was time to start looking after it. Spent a lot of time reading reviews, and eventually decided on the Minoura. Yes, it's expensive, but I decided cheaper ones would be a false economy. First impressions are of the quality of the product. It's well designed, and much sturdier than the picture suggests. It's stable, at least as much as it can be with two supporting legs (three would have been nice, but might have compromised storage). You just have to be a little careful in use to not destabalise it. The clamp is well designed and can grip in various positions with ease. All in all, a very good product that's worth paying the extra price."

Minoura RS-5000 Workstand
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile
"I've never had a work stand before and I'm glad that I spent the extra on this one. It's very sturdy, well made using good quality materials and easy to operate straight out of the box.
It makes everything easier, I mean how can you adjust your gears without one? Even washing the bike is a piece of cake now, now need to balance your precious bike on the forks! You can have the bike at a variety of levels and angles.
If you are thinking about a stand, definitely get one and this comes highly recommended. And, Wiggle as usual do exactly what they say they will."

GOOD WORKSTAND
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, packs away neatly & small.
Cons: stability can be unsteady at certain working angle, tool tray = extra purchase
"I got this in a sale & have been using it for about 4/5 years now. Overall I'm impressed with it. It can hold a bike in a variety of positions, on the tube, by seat post & can be rotated as well. This is a great bit of kit & as anyone will tell you, it's like gaining an extra pair of hands to help when you need to use it - No more kneeling on a small stone that feels like you've just been taken out by a sniper; or realising you're getting that little bit older after you try to get off the floor, this thing puts the bike wherever is convenient for you - It literally has that many working angles for you to get at the bike, whether it's a big rig DH MTB, or a carbon hardtail/road bike - I've had everything in mine. The additional tool tray is well worth the buy too, but you do have to buy it seperately, which is disappointing. When done, the quick release levers mean it can be packed away within 20 seconds very neatly for the car boot or some shelf that the Mrs has allowed you to use & it's just as easy to put up too.
The only problem I have seen thus far is the stability which is not perfect. The stand angles slightly forward which is great, but the lack of a cross bar, behind & in addition to the two diagnol forward bars, means it 'can' fall diagnolly away backwards when using the variety of angles you can work on the bike at. It's only happened to me twice in the 4/5 years & both times I've caught the stand; plus it is easy to resolve, but involves something heavy on both the forward diagnol bars, I use a cheap bag of sand from a local DIY place, but anything weighing about 5-10 KG would do the job; but this is something that could have so easily been eliminated on design. This is the ONLY problem I have seen with this work stand & on recently going to a mates house who had a different type of budget stand, I realised just how good this one was when compared.
If I had the chance of getting this one again, even after knowing it's limitations - I'd choose it again."

Solid, easy to use stand
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
"I wanted something stable, easy to store and that did not require me to disassable my bike before I could use the stand - which always felt like a silly thing to me.
This completely fits the bill. You can adjust it and your bike feels solid in any location. Handles both my Road and Mountain bikes.
I looked at a number of stands and as soon as I saw my friends Minoura I knew it was the correct stand. My other hobby is woodwork and this is as close as a bike stand can come to a bit of industrial handling equipment that I can think of, its just superb in every respect - build quality, ease of use, look and feel.
I cannot recommend this stand highly enough."

Quality kit
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"From the moment I opened the box I could see that this was a quality piece of kit - large diameter, sturdy aluminium tubing and robust fittings.
Easy to set up, no assembly to do - just unfold it and away you go.
Certainly better than it looks in the pictures.
Overall, a bit expensive but excellent quality. Pity it didn't include a tool tray at the price."

superb stand
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Adjustable
"This bike stand is simply excellent, it is good value for money and does exactly what it says on the tin. The instructions for setting it up were clear and easy to follow so I was using it within 10 minutes of its arrival. The frame is sturdy and solid and looks great with a kind or pearlescent gloss finish. It folds up easily (although I store it in the corner of the garage ready for action). It takes all of our bikes with their varying tube sizes and they can be held either by seat post or tube. I will definitely take it on holiday with us in the car boot as its easy to pack down and not too heavy. The clamp jaws grip effectively and importantly without too much pressure or overtightening required. The ratchet / clutch works very well indeed and allows micro adjustment for balance.
I am very pleased with the stand overall.

so glad i bought it
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile
"I purchased this item a while ago, i didnt really use it that much for the odd bit of maintainance i required. The once or twice a year overhaul it came out for proved it to be a good bit of kit. but recently I had a bit of a motorbike accident and am unable to bend or twist for a year or two
This stand has now come in to its own as my kids bikes are in contant need of repair. The stand is easy for my wife to erect, the locking mechanism is solid and holds the bike well and easy to use. i am able to get in close with my seat, I have been able to get my hands dirty without further injury
It is easy to store away and is not bulky in storage. It is, I believe, comparable in quality and features as some of the more expensive stands available
If it had a con, it would be that i cannot get around the stand easily and so would have liked it to be able to rotate. But that is only a minor issue, thats more related to my circumstances than the stands usefulness"

Superb
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, High Quality
"I borrowed one of these from a friend last year but unfortunatly they wanted it back. After the bikes came out of their winter hibernation I had no hesitation in ordering this stand. Its just a really well made piece of kit and I wouldn't be without it now."

Raise the Bar
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"You know the routine: a simple problem with a clanky gear change, and you are in for a dose of dimpled knees and lower back pain, from grovelling around on the floor, fettling the mechanisms.
Next event: stand on one leg, whilst rotating the pedals with the other leg, one hand working the shifters, the other holding the bike up by the saddle, screwdriver in your teeth. What a marathon!
Eventually, you rig an elastic octopus from a tree branch, dangle the bike, and settle for second best gear set up, and no medal.
Well, I decided to raise the bar, and bought a Minoura RS 5000 Workstand. I get a sturdy alloy frame, quick release adjustments, and I get the workpiece just where I want it, without risk of crumpling my frame tubes. Now I pace myself, and fettle and fine tune my gears at my leisure, whilst sipping tea.
No more contortionist acts or hurdling for me...and at last I have passed the dope test!"

Minoura RS-5000 workstand
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile, stowable
Cons: can be stiff at first, doesn't include tool tray
"I've used this with a variety of bikes (MTB, road, commuter & Brompton) and found it able to handle any tube at any angle; although it's stability can be a little bit compromised when using the seat post. Build quality is high and one of the best things from my point of view is the ability to fold it out of the way when not in use. All the quick releases hold well, and are very 'quick' but the initial fold for the legs can be a bit stiff - especially for the first few uses.
The optional tool tray is also excellent - it's just a shame you have to purchase it seperately."
