"通勤時の排ガス対策のために。
SWANSのマスクと迷ったが、wiggleではこちらが安く買えたので購入。
冬場でも頬は汗ばむぐらいの密着度と保温性には好みが分かれると思う。
両方使ってみて、自転車なら同じレスプロのスポーツタマスクの方が通気性は良いと思うが、排ガス対策が目的であればバルブとフィルターはこのシティマスクをおすすめする。
ちなみに臭いは遮断されにくい様で、タバコのヤニ臭は結構入ってくる。
使い始めは息苦しさを感じるかもしれないが、すぐに慣れてくるので無理して酸欠にならない様に注意。"

Essential kit for sensitive lungs

"I've had one of these (and a bunch of unused spare filters) knocking around in my drawer of cycle stuff for a while. Mostly they're somewhat uncomfortable (by necessity of needing to create a good seal) and can cause visibility problems if you wear glasses increasing risk of fogging up.

However, in the last few months I've had a massive asthma flare up, choking up a lung every commute and in a few days of wearing this I'm no longer doing that. These cost a lot of money, but the value in terms of continuing to be able to cycle is huge. If I could get by without one, I probably wouldn't bother due to the discomfort and finding it harder to really go all out thanks to difficulty breathing through it (although the Respro masks are much better than other similar efforts with the outflow valve) but given the need, it is absolutely brilliant."

Anti-Pollution

"I've been reluctant to invest in one of these for quite some time, after several hours sitting in London traffic I decided it was time to give it a go.
How beneficial the mask is for my lungs, I can't say, I will leave that to the numerous studies carried out before this product went on the market. What I can say is that I find the air feels/taste cleaner which I now breathe in, the fit seems to be ok as long as I sit my sunglasses above the little metal nose piece and it certainly does appear to keep some of the harassment down.
On a more negative note, I find I'm practically gasping within the mask, I tend to work quite hard on the bik and getting the air in seems to be difficult at times. I wonder if I worked with less intensity whether or not I would still have the same issues?!"

Much nicer for city riding

"This makes riding in traffic so much more pleasurable, the air tastes nice and not of diesel fumes!

If you're riding in the city and worried about what bus exhausts are doing to your lungs then you really should get one. I have really noticed the difference.

They aren't perfect though, but they are the good and infinitely better than nothing

They are a little expensive - but not that expensive, especially given your health.
They do get a bit sweaty - but it's not that bad and at least no-one can see!
The fit isn't perfect - but it is pretty good and a few adjustments make them pretty comfy."

breathe easy

"Unfortunately Melbourne is becoming more smoggy so the decision, for me anyway is to get some protection.

confortable, functinal and intimidating to those reckless drivers it works a treat.

however I didnt think about drinking onthe go and have to stop to have a swig as have to undo mask. but worth it it in the long run.

I've only seen one other person on my route to work( on a heavy traffic road) wearing one and even the couriers in the city dont wear them. crazy.

value for money, cheaper that what I can get it for down here."

"As a girl with small features, the smallest size available (medium) is still too big. You either have to miss your nose completely (and miss the point having the mask on) or have the metal nose clip squashing your nose the whole time in order for it to stay. I guess it's less of a problem if you have a bigger, pointier nose!

Otherwise, I guess it does its job well though (when it fits!). Better to have a slight nose discomfort than polluted lungs.

Not too bothered about the colour choice - you can't disguise it when you are wearing a facemask!"

A good solution

"It does the job of keeping out the fumes, but you get sweaty and snotty inside it. I've taken to wearing it round my neck for most of my commute, and pulling over my face for the worst traffic section of my ride. Hope it might last longer this way too :-)"
