Great dry lube

"Initially I did not like this lube very much as it did not last very long. It lasted me about 4-5hours of riding in dry dusty conditions, and then I had to re-apply.
This annoyed me a bit, but I soon changed my opinion when it came to cleaning the bike. Epic Ride leaves almost no residue, and you literally just need to wipe the chain to clean it.
This makes it definitely worth it in my opinion, if you can live with having to re-lube after a bit of riding."

The only oil you'll ever need

"I have been a regular user of White Lightening, but get frustrated at the number of times I need to apply it to my commuting bike in winter.
Roll on an impulse purchase of Epic Ride, some of the strongest winter winds in recent times and Monsoon like horizontal rain crashing though my waterproofs.
it took a couple of days to realise that my bike was not squeeking. The chain had survived the torrent and come out the other side as a chain and not as a brown, non-functional decorative attachment to my bottom bracket.
Simply put, this is the best compromise between a clean ride and a durable ride. Just buy it"

"How much will you pay not to clean off that black, greasy mess from your chain and mech? Me too.
Epic - keeps your chain cleaner than a soap star's teeth (and real). Seriously I try to use this as far into the winter as possible. Mainly on roads person myself but love to see the metal on my chain rather than a furry paste of crud.
Great stuff - never heard my chain complain. You use a lot in any one go. Get a large bottle."

Great all-round lube
"I have used this lubricant for some time now, having tried out a stack of different brands in the past. This is a good choice and I'll be sticking with Epic in future.
Despite being the 'light' version from Epic it copes well with damp conditions, if not heavy rain. Thick, heavy lubes tend to pick up dirt which means you often have to clean the gears, chain etc to avoid wear. Using this light lube reduces that problem. Plus it is nice and quiet when you're out on the road. And the latest 120ml bottle has lasted for ages"

Chain oil substitute
"I used this on a 6 week European bicycle tour instead of the usual bike chain oil. It was much cleaner than the usual oil and the usual road grime did not stick to it. It left the chain looking good all the time and didn't become a black sticky mess. It was also much easier to clean off your legs when you brushed against it. The bicycles were outside all of the time and were often out in the rain so it did need reapplying after several soakings! Definitely a good buy and now prefer to use this rather than chain oil."

"A middle of the road chain lubricant, jack of all trades, master of none. This is probably the best all round White Lightning lube. If you only want to use one type throughout the year, then this is the one to go for. If you don't mind several types then look at Clean Ride and Wet Ride."

"I find this better for wet conditions where you don't want to use a wet lube it seems more like a dry condition lube you can use when it may be wet. I will use in the winter and dry lube in the summer. I have been out in very wet weather for about 20 miles and it work fine. Quite and gear changes smooth. Drag is less than wet lubes I have used."

Epic failure!

"Epic Ride? Epic Ride??!!?? Well, if your ride is no more than 3 miles long and in the dry then Epic Ride is just the product for you. Personally, my ride is 6 miles into work and 6 miles back in all weathers and this product which, like all White Lightening products, is basically wax in a solvent carrier failed miserably. Firstly being clear it's difficult to see how well the chain is covered so as per the instructions you just have to apply too much and wipe - what a waste! After a short ride the chain is noticeably noisy and gear changes are rough indicating re-application is necessary so this becomes a daily chore but you also need to clean your chain as this product is excellent at picking up dirt and you chain will go black in no time at all. So, a six quid bottle of this has lasted less than 2 weeks whereas the same amount of Purple Extreme would have lasted about 4 - 6 months. You would literally be better off with a can of WD40."
