Inline brakes
Pros: Great Value, Good Fit
"These brakes are excellent. They allow the original brakes to be used, but also allow braking from on the tops of a road bike. Patience is required when fitting because the brake cables have to be split/cut and the handlebar tape removed - however all relatively straight forward. Recommend proper bike cable cutters tho to do the job properly. As there isn't a huge selection of kids bikes for my keen cyclist daughter these brakes have allowed her to be more comfortable / no stretching, when braking. Good purchase."

Excellent
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Easy to fit but you need a good wire cutters to make sure the brake cable will thread easily into the housing after cutting. This is an excellent solution for those who like to be able to control the brakes while cycling with the hands on top of the bars."

get kids on bikes
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"excellent value, really good design, fitted perfectly to a junior racing bike, for kids safety, when they cannot reach normal sti brake levers due to small hands, also on the crosstop levers is a small allen key so you can bring the levers closer to the handlebar - great design, and easy to fit,
but just to add, to complete the job, you will need in addition, 2 x brake cables and 2 x cable end ferrules a very sharp pair of cable cutters and a small amount of energy. great product"

Lovely addition
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"These are a well made addition for anyone looking for extra brake levers for the top of their road bars. They are easy to fit, durable, lightweight and work very well. They provide a very positive feel (assuming you have set the rest of your brakes up properly). They work in-line of your exisiting brakes. These are far superior to cheaper models."

Give us a brake...or two!
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable, Good Fit
"Fitted these to a new drop bar fixed wheel bike and have been very pleased with them. Good instructions supplied and hinged bar clamp made for easy installation and adjustment. They feel solid and comfortable in use and appear to work as effectively as the main levers. Adds a bit to bar clutter for placing of lights or computer, but there are other solutions to that and these inspire confidence in use."

Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable
"in their own right these seem really good - good value, nicely made, easy to fit. I think I'm a bit unconvinced by crosstops in general though - am considering taking them off again. they are convenient for sitting upright every now and then, but braking with them is spongy and they do look cluttered. So would recommend this particularly set, but maybe not the idea..."

Excellent investment
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight
"I'm surprised more people don't use these because they are the perfect addition to any bike with drops. I like having my hands on the top of the drops, but without these it wouldn't feel all that safe. These allow for more freedom of movement during longer rides, and are more practical for the daily 45min city commute.
They were easy to install, and when adjusted the braking power seems unaffected."

Worthwhile purchase
Pros: Good Fit, Lightweight
"The levers were easy to fit, but I was changing the bars and tape at the same time which helped. I needed to fit new cables, but that was probably more to do with the fact that I was going up from 44cm to 46 cm bars."

What you see is not what you get
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value
Cons: Limited Color Choices, Not Enough Features
"I brought these because normal linear put levers will not fit on my shorten MTB os-handle bars, they work perfectly on the bike but I had to use road brake cables instead of.
Installation was piece of cake, the mounting clamp had hinges at the apex, so the levers can be removed with out the usual mucking about with the removal of grips and bar ends.
One of my friends had the same levers on his roadie on a stand-alone set-up. He found the spring mechanism that brings the lever back to original position a tad weak, the ends of one of the coils snapped off after a few months of light use. However I've had these on heavy use (over 100k's a day) for a week now and found no problems.
Was a little disappointed at first, the levers I received were not the ones in the picture. For those who are wondering, my new levers look like the Tektro RL720 Series Levers. On installation, I realised that these levers look fantastic on a curvy bike, the curve and lines of the levers matches the lines of the raised bar. Not sure what those in the picture would look like on my bike, but much prefer the ones that I got
If you are going to use these on a MTB, then you might found the following tips helpful;
-use road cables (pear instead of barrel)
-use new brake pads if possible and use the least extended setting on the barrel adjuster at the start life of the pads.
-outter cable housing will might need to be shorten by a little (1 inch maybe) and routing inverted (right to left, left to right)
-use professional cable cutters
-v-brake noddles might need to be straighten out a little
-measure twice cut once, the break lines have less adjustment then normal
-unused rubble sheets from lights or computer installations can be used to shim the clamp for perfect fit on tapered os bars
Have fun!

Cost effective replacement
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I bought these Cane Creek levers to replace the Specialized ones that came fitted to my Tricross. The standard Specialized levers don't have any adjusters and I was getting a bit fed up fiddling with the cable at the brakes every couple of weeks. These levers were easy to install, even for the mechanically inept like me. The brakes are as effective as before and the levers feel good. Best of all, I can now adjust my brakes in a matter of seconds, even on the move! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a set of crosstop levers."

These do actually work!
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged
"Unlike the old "suicide" levers of days gone by, these actually work quite well! Highly useful for people who use a drop bar bike either for commuting or in seriously hilly / mountainous terrain IMHO.
The levers possibly don't give you quite the same level of braking as the normal levers, and some people might look askance at you for fitting them, but personally I'd rate them as being highly desirable for any drop-bar equipped bicycle."

Good if you like that sort of thing
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Rugged
"I wouldn't use them myself, but the other half has small hands and is a bit nervous about using the drops on her road bike, so I fitted these as pass throughs. Now she has more MTB style brakes on the top as well as the STIs. The crosstops work just fine, and the adjustable barrel helps with fine tuning the fit. I had a play and couldn't see any noticeable loss of braking power when using the STIs. Win-win."
