good gear
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"KMC make great chains, all chains stretch so i change mine every spring on my training bike, whereas ive had the same gold sl chain on my race bike for 3 years & still looks bling bling.
the connector link is really good as well, I wash the bike after every ride & clean the chain with a rag, I completely remove the chain for a deep wash once a month, this is what keeps chain & cassette wear to a minimum.

Good value chain
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
"I change my chains often (at .75 wear), so chains at this price point are ideal. The X10 is pretty decent for the price - nickel plated with a power link. It doesn't rust badly after cleaning or wet weather riding, and shifting is on par with the competitors - I've tried 105, Ultegra and Connex chains at the same price point. It's not worth spending more than this because the weight savings, performance gains and strength are practically zero. Better to invest money in a decent set of cassettes - 2 or 3 different ratios so you change to suit the conditions."

snapped after 150miles and no apparent wear

Cons: Low Quality, Wears Out Easily
"Maybe just a bad batch but I'd never buy KMC again. After 150 miles the chain snapped. There was (as expected after only 150 miles) no apparent wear on the chain but closer inspection revealed some of the side plates were showing cracks from the centre outwards. I wish I could say it was down to my strength but at 65kg body weight that's very unlikely."

Mine broke
Posted April 19, 2012
I had the same problem. Mine failed after 500 miles. Closer examination showed eight cracked links and one pin coming out. Thankfully my LBS replaced it FOC.
Looks like KMC may have a manufacturing or quality control problem.

Great chain, and a breeze to remove
Pros: Durable, Great Value
"I'll admit it, I am a fan of KMC chains. More specifically the missing link that they use to connect them, which makes it straightforward to remove the chain for a deep clean. It is for this reason as much as any that I have purchased KMC chains for both Shimano and SRAM set ups on my bikes. The 93 is only half nickel plated, and I have found that if I don't dry it off well and oil after an on-bike wash, oxidisation can start on the inner (non-nickel plated) links, so look after it. I got over 2,000 miles out of my last chain, which I was more than happy about. Non-directional fitting is a plus, 'cos I can't get it wrong!"

KMC X10-93 10 Speed Chain
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"My Stumpjumper came with one of these on and it has been great, so it was the obvious choice when I managed to put a twist in my old chain (my fault)!
Greay chain

Just what it should do
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"This standard 10sp chain has enabled me to cover over 1000 miles without any dramas. It has currently been rotated with a 'quieter' old Ultegra chain for a short while to theoretically prolong life of transmission components. There is no noticeable stretch or wear, and after a good clean in white spirit looks like new again. I prefer strong, quality reliable components and that is exactly what this chain is."

Good quality, good price
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"Bought this with a Ultegra cassette to replace my well used 105 kit. Very happy with the upgrade, gear changes feel solid & reliable in either direction. Costs a lot less than the Shimano chains but I don't feel like I've skimped on quality."

First class chain.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: can show rust if not kept clean and lubed.
"I have used KMC chains for some time now and have found them to be hard wearing and change well. The quick link is a great feature. They are good value for the money."

good value
"I've used campag record, the X10-SL, X10-L and this chain with my chorus 10 group. Havent noticed any difference in shifting quality. Campag chain was the quietest but the X10 and X10-L are almost as good. The SL was definitely noisier."

KMC rules
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"As always, great stuff from KMC. Their chains are versatile (Shimano or Campag) and long wearing. They shift smoothly and wear well. I never have a problem fitting them and their joining links are a breeze to use.
I use KMC chains on all my bikes."

Quick releaseing Solid Light Quiet
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit, easy to remove and clean
Cons: Expensive
"A lot quieter than SRAM chains, lighter than most yet still very strong. I buy these as they're quiet on a SRAM cassette, perform as crisply as the rest due to good stiffness, are lighter and wear well.
Most importantly is the finger operated quick release. It's easy, it works and I've never had one break.
For the ultimate upgrade go for the gold one - it's even lighter with negligible wear increase - oh and it's gold."

"Strong durable chain with easy connection via SRAM Powerlink.
Shifting quality is excellent when used with Shimano XT cassette and derailleur. Great buy and value for money.
