Solves leg length discrepancy problems wonderfully
Pros: Comfortable, Great Value
"So I gave it a try. My right shin seems to be a bit shorter than my left and I would occasionally get cramps in my right calf during and after longer rides. After putting the 3mm shim underneath the cleat I spun a trainer and immediately noticed my pedaling improved. I can't wait to try the set up on my next century ride!
Oh, and one 3mm shim with 4x15mm countersunk bolts weigh 23g. They're well worth the weight penalty for those who have issues with their legs just like myself."

Great if you need them
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Use3d on my Zero's. Quick and easy to install with options for 3 or 6mm of lift. Plate weighs 19 grams so not much penalty on already light pedals."

for those with dodgy leg lengths
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Before I bought these, I called Speedplay to see if I needed them before I went to get my bike fit. They advised me to purchase these to counter my leg length discrepancy so I placed my faith with their recommendation.
Upon receiving my Bike Fit, I only needed a 1.5mm rise so the 2mm spacers were too much.
These are good but remember to do your homework as I did, but get it contact with who ever is doing your Bike Fit to see what they think aswell.
A little expensive, but worth the comfort for those who need the extra adjustment."

fits lite a charm
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"these are bolt-on, thus making the fit neat and simple!
For me, the left foot is shorter than the right, so I need to build some extra height to compensate.
The initial test on my Tacx TTS2 trainer proves this to be perfect!

leg length discrepency
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"I have a leg length difference of 18mm. While I mostly compensate with my foot and angle position, it's good to get some help from the pedal/shoe combination. The shims are 3 mm thick and the kit allows up to 6mm compensation with appropriate screws supplied. Much more than this and the increased stack height puts too much stress on the ankle and alters the fluidity of your pedaling. It's also not necessary to fully correct the discrepancy, over the years I've tried 3,6 and 9mm correction and have settled on 3mm for cycling. On my walking shoes I have 18mm. Overall the system works very well and provides just enough compensation at the bottom of the stroke where it's needed without altering the mechanical advantage in the middle of the power stroke."

Ride stronger
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit, they make a difference
Cons: no cons
"I switched from my great Time pedals because of these shim kits. Why all pedal manufactures do not have shim kits I find difficalt to understand. The pedals along with two sets of shim kits have improved my position on the bike and more importantly the quality of power to the pedals on my left leg which is some 15mm shorter than my right leg. Over the years I have tried different lenght cranks (very costly) At very little cost Speedplay has done what no other make of pedal has thought of. Thank you
speedplay!!

Chaffing sorted
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight
"I had continually suffered form chaffing on one side after long runs - tried all the usual - saddle up/ down and angle, changed shorts, used loads of cream and was thinking of crank lengths. Thought I would try this - brill. No more problems. If you have different leg lengths it is definately worth a go. Think It fits quite few of speedplay cleats other than x series."

Cleat Shim kit
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"For years I have been messing around with look cleats trying to 'double cleat' with reasonable success to balance out my odd length legs. Until recently when I discovered that Speedplay have created a simple and solid plate system which works without having to jeopardize stability or fit. I have now converted my bikes to Titanium Speedplay pedals and have successfully set up my shoes with shims to suit."

Speedplay Leg Shim Kit for X Series Pedals
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
"These have made an enormous difference to my cycling. On average most people have one leg shorter than the other by up to 1 cm. A bike has a fixed geometry, this means that there is increased pelvic or spinal flex to compensate for the shorter leg. Since I have been using the shims I have a more even power distribution through my cranks."
