Cateye spare computer magnet
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"For some reason I managed to lose the original when cleaning my bike, which is bizarre when it's attached with double sided padding and a cable tie!
I was glad to find that Wiggle can provide Cateye spares at sensible prices. I am now up and running again. Great!

"This review isn't really relevant - it was sent as a replacement because my computer arrived without this magnet. It fitted OK but I had to make a spacer about 6 mm thick so I could get the correct clearance on both the wheel and crank sensors and their respective magnets."

"Simple to fit, but sticky pad could be more adhesive once fitted. Have had one fall off in the past whilst riding after the ziptie broke."

Good Design
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Not much to say. Cheap but effective item that is superior to the Garmin version in that the cable tie goes through a loop, which means that you can't lose the item if it works loose. That was the reason for my purchase."

A Magnet
Cons: Expensive
"Run the same V2 computer on both bikes. Saves me changing the crank magnet from bike to bike. Pricey for what it is but Wiggle were cheapest and delivery was outstsndingly quick.. again."

Does the job
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"What can you say, it is a strong cadence magnet. The adhesive at the back is really useless since it will not really stick that well to the crank arm. Yet with a cable or two (I recommend adding another one to the one you find in the packaging), it will stay securely in place. I think cateye could have produced a wider magnet which means it can be stronger, but this one does the job anyway."

What can I say?
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Good Fit
"'tis a magnet which is cheaper than Garmin's own and does the job much better for less pennies.
A must if your Garmin sensor falls off as easily as mine did."

Seasonal limitations
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, daylight only
"This unit works well and looks good but it is pricey and in the winter months, when commuting at the beginning and end of the day, it is almost impossible to read the displays in low light. As others have observed already, a backlit version would be useful 24/7/365. Set up is easy if you take the trouble to read the instructions - the cadence function involves an extra step - he bloke in the shop was swopping batteries and wasted time cos he didn't read it."

You need this for winter training
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, easy to fit
"I bought this rear wheel fixing for the winter Turbo Trainer. When I opened the box I thought oh no, here we go, lots of bits and wires and stuff , and then after only 10 short minutes with out any tools. I tentatively turned the back wheel and there it was... MPH and cadence, first time, no adjustments, no reallignment.
The display is perfect and now I can train away on the hamster wheel all winter long...

Good Garmin Substitute!
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight
"I needed a replacement cadence magnet for my Garmin 705 cycling computer. Garmin wanted about £8 for a replacement, this does exactly the same job for less. In fact the simpler fitting may actually be better than the Garmin magnet. Not a product you can get excited about but it does its job and does it well."

"replacement magnet for my gramin 500 . on the crank arm for the rpm as the old one fell off and was quite bulky bad design i think plus the replacement kit from garmin was well expensive compared to this option and it works so everyone is a winner well apart from garmin"

You need a spare magnet
Pros: Adjustable, Lightweight
"I bought this as a precaution as I've lost a previous cadence magnet from the crank but managed to find it. They are inexpensive and as the computer will not work without it, its worth keeping one just in case."

Works well with Polar Cadence
Pros: Rugged, Versatile, Good Fit, works with polar
"I used this instead of the magnet which Polar provides, as this is fixed with a tie as well as 2-sided tape.
Works fine with Polar CS cadence unit - this magnet seems a little stronger that the Polar one, so allows more clearance to the crank arm.
It is also thicker so works well with cranks with concave sides.

A Must if you have a CatEye V3
Pros: Adjustable
Cons: Wears Out Easily, Poor Fit
"Like the title says, you will need some spares if your cranks are not flat, I bought the V3 Cateye which as one of these supplied, fitted it all to the bike, and lost it on the first ride, my foot must have caught the tie and it just split, so I lost the cadenance magnet, so I have purchased 4 of these, and so far the 1st one is still on, so must have found the sweet spot the second time around."

cheap and attractive
Pros: Great Value
Cons: flimsy fitting
"I had only fitted my Cateye Double Strada wireless a week earlier when the cadence magnet shot off the crank arm. In the run up to this I had found that the magnet moved around on the crank arm causing sensor pick up issues and so was half expecting further problems.
With the magnet being so small (and black) and it being dusk I was in no position to stop and look for it. I dug deep and expected an expensive replacement part.
Thankfully the cadence magnet is only a couple of pounds. The downside is that it comes with the same flimsy cable zip tie and non-adhesive adhesive pad that befalls the original.
After reading a few other comments in bike forums I replaced the tie with one that was much stronger and added a sticky tab to the back of the magnet. The result is a cadence magnet that has stayed on the crank arm. With it being held firmly in place there are also no sensor pick up issues. Just wish I had done this when fitting the strada originally."
