Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
"This pedal is one of the best pedal I have ever owned so far. Not only it works well as a clip pedal but it works well as a flat pedal.
I tend to ride flat when I'm going DH, and I first thought that the clip is gonna be annoying cause its popping up a bit, but after my first DH run with it, I completely forgot that it was a clip-in pedal. I've hit the pedal couple of times against rocks and trees and it still in excellent condition.
Another excellent pedal from Shimano."

Wonderful Pedals
Pros: Adjustable, High Quality, Versatile
"First of all, I'm an absolute beginner to spds, so unfortunately can't compare these with any others. These are however wonderfully easy to clip in & out of and the platform provides a pretty decent level of support and grip for when I'm not clipped in (with Shimano MT32 shoes). Though not so much that I'd ride long distances without being clipped in, which would be silly anyhow. I can't imagine unclipping accidentally with these (even on the weakest setting), but it's still early days...
After my first half an hour of practice on a local bike path I found I got the hang of clipping in & out quite well, and though it hasn't happened yet I'm sure there'll be some pedal-induced stacks to look forward to... In the same half hour I discovered the joy of being able to lift up both tires simultaneously with the least bit of effort (and skill :o). Which won't stop me from trying learning to bunny hop properly, but I sure love these pedals. I'm looking forward to taking these out on the trails (after some more practice) and I expect the platform will be very handy on certain sections.
Unfortunately I don't have any other clipless pedals to compare to, but these are exactly what I wanted from a set, so very pleased. They also look like they're built to last, but will see how they go."

Very nice pedals for the price
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value
"I bought the Shimano DXM647 about 9 months back and have so far covered about 2500 miles on them, Had a couple of the expected mishaps at the beginning, as these are my first experience with going clipless, however, the pedals have been faithful companions on all my rides since purchase and I could never now go back. In general, It's well worth setting your cleats accurately to ensure foot position is bang on (otherwise you will ache)
So impressed, I purchased a 2nd pair 3months back for my son, who is a very much more experienced rider than me and he loves them.
They clip in fluidly and are intuitive to unclip, I would say after about 10-15 miles I stopped thinking about being clipped in and getting out of them from thereon was natural.
I have had no problems with them and have only had to increase the tension (which is so easy) twice in 2.5k.
If you are thinking of going clipless, I can honestly recommend these, they look pretty good too and both sides of the pedals are usable so no fuss getting in them at all. You will also immediatlely notice the accelleration boost as you apply power through the entire stroke - Actually, don't buy them, cos I enjoy passing cyclists up hills and I should be keeping this secret to myself really - evil laugh!"

Versatile
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
"These pedals are great. The clips are easy to clip in. I worried that the pedal might interfere, but it doesn't. I use these on my MTB because I am confident using clips for some terrain, but not confident for more difficult terrain. I did initially use these on my commuter bike, and would again, but maybe a similar, lighter version would be preferable in that situation. However for my MTB they are versatile and rugged."

Great pedals for all disciplines
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
"Even though they're clip ins, you get the best of both worlds with the stability of the platform. I find these really do release easily in crashes or when you need to dab, have used them freeriding also and no serious repurcussions! Great peds."

Shimano DX M647 Pedals
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"A great pedal for me as it suits my style of riding. I don't see myself in any pro form other than I ride to work. I ride 27km and found the pedal comfortable without using cleat shoes. They have a nice feel and the price was well worth it."

Great SPD's
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"These are my first pair of SPD's having always ridden with flats so I have nothing to compare them too. However I find them very easy to use. Fellow riders suggest I would need time to get used to clipping in and out but I have used them for a short while now and have not had a single close call, as they are so easy to clip in and out of. Fairly light weight considering they also have a "protective cage" around the clip, and look pretty good too. They aren't the cheapest but I feel I have got good value for money because they work well, but I have no idea if they work just as well as other cheaper SPDs."

DX M647
Pros: High Quality
"Where you need a good pedal is in the hard and muddy paths, you may need to pull without fixing. Just for that it's worth dragging a bit more weight."

Nice pedal.
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
"Was easy to fit, works well with or without cleated shoes. At fully loose, very easy to swing shoe out of, important for someone who has never used cleats before."

Your new flexible friend
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality
"I wanted a pedal that gave me the performance features of an SPD with the flexibility of a flat pedal so that I didn't always need to wear my bike shoes to ride the bike. These fit the bill perfectly. You can ride with trainers and can barely feel the raised cleat. With race shoes on the angle of the cleat is perfect for easy clip in / out and is fully adjustable to alter the tension. Top pedals!!"

Just one small thing
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile, Good Fit, easy to use
Cons: mud shedding design could be better
"These are the first mountain bike clip-in pedals I own. They work well, really stable but it is still easy to get your foot out if you lose your balance (you don't really have to think about it). The mud shedding design is not perfect, but for the price, Shimano has done a great job."

Super stable pedals
Pros: stable
Cons: heavy, tight even on the loosest setting
"I've only used these over one weekend (about 6 hours XC riding).
They seem to be built solidly. The clip tension is adjustable, but even on their loosest setting they are quite tight. This could be due to the specialized shoes though.
They are very easy to clip in to, due to the angled platform. Super stable on the bumpy stuff."

Pros: Durable, Rugged, Adjustable
"Seems well made to take the hits on the trail.
Great pedal to decide if you want to get into clips full-time.
Clips give mercy to the beginner as they can be adjusted.
Pedal does not give too much grip if wanting to use as a flat pedal."
