Nice on the rear!
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality
Cons: a bit heavy
"From the first instant I put my backside on the saddle after I had fitted the seatpost I was impressed! A back problem made me consider suspension seatposts and I'm glad I fitted this one to my hardtail MTB I use for my daily commute.
It takes out the bumps well that I didn't manage to see and stand for. The suspension effect is subtle, with the ride is ever so slightly springy, the preload all but completely eliminating the desire to bounce up and down. At a particular cadence where the resonance is hit, and at a decent pedal pressure, the pogoing becomes more pronounced, although not excessive. Changing cadence slightly reverts easily to the normal smoother ride.
Looks well built and strong, but the trade-off there is weight. I consider the weight acceptable for the accessory considering it's form and function, but if you have a bike you like to keep as light as you can probably look elsewhere.
I fitted the optional cover to keep the weather out for greater longetivity. Build quality on this looks good too.
Overall it was a bit expensive but it works very well and if it lasts as long as it looks like it will it will be good value. Love it.

Bum (Not) Busted

Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"Splashed the cash on this Cane Creek beauty a month or so ago and have not regretted it, yes I know its expensive, but hey its the cheapest full suss extension you will ever get.
Within minutes of riding perched on the Thudbuster, all movements felt very natural, as if I'd actually upgraded to a full suspension rig! (Well nearly)
Straight out of the box the climbs seemed easier than normal with little or no bobbing, no trial buzz- ride over the rough stuff with your vision intact and of course it takes the sting out of your tail (that's gotta be worth the money). I have recently put this to the test by completing the London to Brighton off road event for the British Heart Foundation, 75 miles in the saddle and I can happily report my 'Bum is Not Busted'. Fully recommended for those with hard tails, who would rather have soft tails!

Cane Creek Thudbuster LT Seat Post
"I've just turned 40 and ride mainly xc with some trail.
My hardtail was starting to really hurt me. Enough to stop me going out on some days. I would have pains in my back and neck and also my feet and shins!! I used to have a full susser but didn't like the bob of the rear shock. However I decided I was old and needed a full susser to stop me from falling appart completely. I had decided to buy a Giant Anthem x2 and had even worked out how to pay for it.
I just had one niggle. I love my hardtail.
Looking on the internet I stumbled across this very expensive thudbuster seatpost. To put it simply, it's worth every penny.
After the first ride you hardly notice it working but nothing hurts once you've stopped. My back and neck are cusioned by it and because they don't hurt I ride with more weight on my backside taking the weight from my legs. So they don't hurt either.
I've just ridden from Cardiff to Conwy with it, both on and off road and it worked perfectly. No aches and pains but also no bob on the hills. (and there were a few). Climbing was the same as any other hartail.
Forget the price and the weight some people mention. If you love your hartail but it's breaking you, buy one.

Cane Creek Thudbuster LT Seat Post
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Having tried several shock absorbing seat posts, I can now say that this one is by far the best one out there by far for ease of installation and configuration! Being able to change the elastomers as your weight comes down is brilliant! Also looks great and the build quality is excellent!"

Don't leave home without it
Pros: Comfortable
"I got this delivered with the usual standard couple of days from Wiggle so excellent service there.
I fitted this to my dahon folding bike so got the 33.9mm stem. Initial set up is easy enough with a couple of hex bolts to open and close. Note that dahon saddles are not standard so you'll need a regular (third party) saddle to fit on to this.
Initially riding this across london with the correct elastomers fitted, and it feels a bit weird, like you are bouncing every time your rotate on the pedals. But bear with it a few days and you get used to it and that feeling completely disappears.
Then you begin to notice the very impressive shock absortion. All the road buzz is eliminated and most (small to medium) bumps are comfortably softened. I used to be able to do about 10-12 miles on the regular saddle before needing to rest, but now can comfortably do 30-50 (on a folding bike with 20" tires remember).
The most interesting experiment is to, after 4-5 weeks, revert to the original seat post, and do a short ride. OMG the difference is so marked, I was in awe as to it's effectiveness.
Once you've ridden with this on a road bike, you'll just want it all the time, it's that good. I went and bought the short travel version for my road bike and that's a lot lighter.
Only con is that it's heavier than the normal seat post, but for a few hundred grams you get to ride longer in seriously way more comfort.
In summary fit it to all your bikes and you won't regret it. Probably one of my most useful purchases. Oh and at the price, still worth it."

back saver!
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive, a bit heavy
"I have only had this seatpost for a few rides so far therefore I can't comment on it's durability. But I can say it has definitely changed my hardtail and riding for the bettter. I am riding my bike longer and faster than before! After ride lower backaches have disappeared since I got it. Yes It's expensive but that's becaus it's the best and the closest thing to a full sus frame you will get on a hardtail.
Yes it is heavy compared to a normal seatpost but you really don't notice it when you riding and the pros of it far out weigh the cons.

Thudbuster
Pros: Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"I have a bad back but still prefer to ride a hardtail. Without the thudbuster an hour or so on the trails was about my limit. Last Saturday I went out for 3+ hours with no back problems. A great addition to any hardtail."

Remarkable comfort
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Fitted to an old Klein hardtail. Other Kleins of that same era had this as an original option. Allows me to use a lighter saddle which offsets the weight somewhat. May not perform on the trail as well as full suspension in terms fo keeping back wheel connected but certainly makes thr trails more comfortable and encourages faster riding. Wish I had bought it years ago. Only the price put me off."

"Got this to help my neck disc problem. It makes a massive difference, coupled with the gel seat here on wiggle even the roughest tracks are super smooth. Can't compare it with the cheap suspension seat posts. Well worth having. If you can justify the cash get one."

Fantastic
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
"I tried to find somebody who had one of these before I purchased one myself as I was not sure how effective it would be. I could not find anybody so I decided to get one anyway, I am really pleased I did, this is a great piece of kit and now I get a bit more comfort for heavy off roading but maintain the fun of riding a hardtail."

Pros: Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"This is the second Thudbuster I've bought - this one is for my road/cycle path bike - works well to prevent jarring (I got this to protect a sore back). Having tried a more conventional suspension post I'd thoroughly recommend this one."

A Real Comfort Ride
Pros: Comfortable
"I am an elderly bike rider doing perhaps 70 kms a week. I ride mainly on footpaths which have greatly varying surfaces and of course I have to cross many roads. Most of my journeys have to be broken up to give my backside a rest. I have tried a number of saddles and have finally settled on a Brooks saddle. However, the problem persisted until I had the thudbuster LT fitted. I now simply ride through the bumps without getting a good thump in the rear end. I can now ride every day without needing a day in between to recover. I think the thudbuster might even be easier on the bike frame since I am overweight at 95 kgs."

if you want to bike hard but without pain i think it's really the good solution.
