Invaluable for any regular cyclist

"Good chain maintenance is SO important to bike health and yet is so often overlooked. This wee set has saved me hundreds of pounds in replacement cassettes and chains and so has paid for itself many times over. I've had it about 2 or 3 years now and though it is showing signs of use I reckon it's still got a couple of years left in it. Very simple to use and clean, I cannot recommend it enough. Essential purchase."

Essential piece of kit.......

"I bought this because both the wife and my own chains were suffering from the effects of the great British winter. Dirt and salt were starting to take their toll, you could hear that the chains were unhappy.......
2-3 minutes later with this cleaner and the chains were back to their original condition, a quick rinse off and a re-lube and everything was ready to go again. The amount of dirt and gunk that came off the chains was a bit of an eye opener. I thought my own chain was pretty clean but I felt a bit shameful after seeing the amount of dirt that came off.
I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to extend the life of their chain and sprockets. Now an essential tool in my kit."

"Bought this chain cleaner set as it appeared to be the best one for value for money compared to all the other ones on all websites. I can confirm it is good value for money & the lube to put on the chain after cleaning it appears to do a good job. The only negative is that the actual chain cleaner is a bit fiddly"

Quick and simples

"I did think this would be a gimmick that would not work and do a rubbish job. How wrong was I.
Its brilliant. It is quick to set and use. Very clean to use and does a spanking job on the chain, without the palaver of removing the chain.
I did 7 bikes in no time, some of them (kids bikes) were manky and had never been cleaned in years. Naturally my own bikes were in better fettle! All of them it worked a treat although the older ones had to be done 2-3 times.
I quickly found the trick to the smoothest running was to pull slightly down on the chain to create slight tension then the chain just raced through the device.
Best of all the manky black cleaning fluid could just be emptied out with no mess. Unlike some other reviews, I dont think you need to clean this device at all. A quick spray with a hose did the trick and removed the worst, naturaly there is a bit of staining left, but that certainly wont do any harm. Its great the brushes and fans that clean the chain can be replaced.
The build quality is very good, its solid and tough, well worth the money!
I will now be cleaning my chain weekly as it is so simple. I've also noticed that I have far less slipping gears when in muddy rides.
In summary,
Fill it, clip it on, spin the pedals, pour it out, wash it, add some fresh lube, job done in 5 minutes!"

"I hate cleaning my chain so bought this after reading the reviews, although it did clean a load of muck of my chain it's still a bit of a faff, plus my hands were still as grimey as normal! I spent just as long cleaning the unit out afterwards as I did cleaning my chain! Build quality of product is good, plastic is strong and looks like it will last."

"Yeah works well not much faffing around, ive got my bike hanging from my garage ceiling on bent padded copper piping just to protect it so using the chain cleaner is much easier suppose a bike stand works just as well. chain cleaner worked ok although I did have to hold the body to keep it together, cleaned the chain spot on though so well happy"

"The chain cleaner was a breeze to use, though I would not recommend trying it indoors as the chain will likely cause drips. The unit itself is simple and easy to operate with replaceable components (will the service parts for the chain cleaner be available through Wiggle?) I've never been rigorous enough with chain cleaning in the past but now that it's easier I'm hoping to remedy that."

"Piece of cake to use and doesn't half get the chain clean. Make sure you wipe the chain aftwerwards as the de-greaser keeps working and you'll get dirty/greasy black spots on the floor."

does exactly what it says
"my cassette and chain are only 2 months old and have not been out in bad weather.Used the cleaner in preparation for my trip to the Pyrenees to watch the Tour. I was amazed by the amount of crud removed, definitely a must have."

"These things are awesome! I've bought a second one purely because I was a muppet whilst cleaning it and left the plug out of the drain while pulling one of the brushes out. Needless to say the bit it spins on in the middle of the brush got washed away :(
You get degreaser and lube with this product and it works really well. My chain was black when I put this on it with crud from the roads, after a few spins on this it was looking nice and shiny again."

"I was embaressed - about my chain! NOT the product! It arrived yesterday, within 15 minutes I had a gorgeous looking chain but the biggest amount of muck and grime to get rid of. VERY surprised at how much dirt/grease/oil had accumulated. But the cleaner set? VERY easy to use, great performance and (I think) if used properly should last me quite a while (but I think I might start buying chain cleaner by the gallon!!). And, thankfully - the set was easy to clean and is now ready to go for the next time!"

"This does exactly what's on the tin.. I've used this a number of times to degrease my chain with no problems.. Best suited if you bike is in a maintance stand of some type otherwise pulling the chain through the cleaning mechanism may become a little challenging..Overall very good tool and would recommed to anyone else.. "I've been using one of these for over a year, to clean my bike chains. It gets used every couple of weeks at least, so the supplied cleaning fluid has long since run out, but the cleaner itself continues to work well. The brushes and fins scour the chain, whilst the magnet 'grabs' any metal particles.
I've found that the best way to use the cleaner is to move the chain to the middle chainring at the front, and to a middle gear at the back. Fit the cleaner onto the chain at the bottom and turn the pedals backwards. The first couple of turns are more difficult, whilst the chain is dry, but it gets easier with progressive turns. If it was easier to turn, it wouldn't clean as well as it does. It's definately easier to use if the bike is in a workstand, and you need to keep the chain in line or it will move off of the chainrings.
I use Fenwick FS-1 with the cleaner now. It's great value, and as effective as any single purpose chain cleaning solution.
Would I recommend to a friend? I think I would be chosing between the Park Tools CM5 and this if I wanted a new chain cleaner, but I am happy with this product."
