Essential Buy
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit
Cons: Unattractive
"Being a newby to running, I didnt get shin splints until about a month in. Having been told things will only get worse, I bought this as a preventative measure.
This works like a treat...I wear it all the time when I run and suffer very little pain now (and no it's not an improvement in me as a runner thats made the pain go away!) so hopefully I wont have to be making any trips to a physio anytime soon."

Shin-Tastic!
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, only availabe in white
"Having been struck down by shin splints in both legs towards the end of a half marathon training plan the last thing I wanted to do was rest!
Having read a few articles on these sleeves I decided to purchase a couple of them to try and get my training back on track.
When they arrived i instantly put them on and I instantly noticed that the dull pain in my legs began to ease and I definitely saw an improvement. The acid test was to see if I could put some miles in whilst wearing them and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could run. Whilst not completely pain free I could run.
These should not be thought of as shin splint cures as rest will only resolve it completely but if you're in the middle of a training schedule as I was then these definitely make shin splints more manageable and allow you to continue to train whilst minimising the discomfort.
The only downside to these is that they only seem to be available in white which does not go well with running in wet conditions! They are slightly on the pricey side however if you are a shin splint sufferer then look no further because they really do work."

Mueller Shin Splint Compression Sleeve
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Unattractive
"This product is excellent. Having got a painful shin splint it aided my recovery for sure. It's comfortable, easy to put on and provides support and eases the pain why your leg is recovering. If you wear it all day it can sometimes get a bit uncomfortable but not very often.
It can also be good when you start training again, however it's not the most stylish. On the other hand it's better than pain.
If you have suffered from this injury before or had the joy of it for the first time, this product is good value for money and will get you back on the road to recovery quickly.

very recommended
Pros: High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Unattractive, Limited Color Choices
"valid for those athletes with sore shins. prevents overload of the tendon and the appearance of periostitis, isolating the muscle fully and to avoid vibrations caused by impact with the ground. highly recommended for those running on hard surfaces such as asphalt. is a very good product, suitable for everyone."

"Excellent piece of equipment. I found that it didn't prevent shin splints if you are already suffering."

Seems to work
Pros: Durable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Unadjustable
"After a year of shin splints I decided to give this a go. It seems to do the job, I wear it after running to try and reduce the inflamation as my shins don't hurt too much running to make it worth wearing it whilst running. I used this on one shin and ice on the other and they both seem to feel the same though."

Fantastic Buy
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: not machine washable
"After a depressing month of resting a Medial Tibial Bone Strain injury 2/3rds of the way through a 4 month extensive half marathon training program I thought my race was over as I was still getting pain when I started light training again. As I only had a month before race day I figured I'd have to pull out until I saw the "Muller Shin Splint Compression Sleeve" advertised. With nothing to lose I thought I'd give it a go . . . . what a fantastic buy . . . I've been running in the sleeve for 2 weeks now and it enables me to run freely as it stablises the muscles surrounding the injury. I'm positive I will make it to race day now, after which I will give the injury the rest it deserves."
