Tacx Tao Ultralight Bottle Cage

Analysis, inspiration and innovation are the key words behind the development of the Tao, the Tacx superlight streamlined bottle cage. The shape of the bike and its technical components inspired the designers.

Pros: Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight
"I'm not the most steady of cyclists when 'trying' to travel at speed and deciding I want to drink at the same time. HIstorically, I've found it a bit difficult to negotiate the bottle back into the standard type of cages with the wire frames. This is an excellent cage for people like me! It's slightly wider than most 500ml bottle widths and so it's extremely easy to slip the bottle back. The design means there's no slipping, sliding or chance of the bottle shooting out onto the road. Simple, light and effective - just how it like it!"

Great looking product
Pros: Attractive, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"its a bottle cage, there isnt much to say performance wise, as supprisingly it holds a bottle well. the main reason i got this is because of the look. asthetics are everything with somethings and personally i think that bottle cages are one of those things.
this bottle cage looks great, and does the job.
only downside for some may be the choice of colours, but having a black and white bike, this cage looks spot on on mine"

Not really impressed
Cons: Unadjustable, Wears Out Easily
"I'm not really impressed with this cage. It's shape means that you really need to extract the bottle straight out of the front, but in practice you're going to pull it from one side of the frame or another. I've had this mounted on my seat tube and after a couple of days of use it has twisted around the mounting screws and become somewhat deformed just through normal use. I'm concerned that this in turn is stressing the frame.
On the upside the bottles are held securely with no bounce outs, it's light, and so long as you can remember and take the time to extract it directly forwards the bottle both extracts and replaces easily enough."

A bad purchase
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit
"This is perhaps a good product if you have bottles of the exact right size. But my bottles didn´t fit , some were to big to use, the others were a bit to small and were not securely hold in place, the main function of a bottle holder..."

Good bottle cage
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Versatile
"Easy to install, easy to use, reasonable weight and seems to be fairly durable.
I've found this much nicer to use than my old £4 cage - easy in and easy out with no need to force the bottle.
No issues with 600ml or 800ml bottles."

Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Lightweight
"This was actually a replacement for the same model that broke. The piece of plastic at the bottom of the cage sheared off when I hit a bump while carrying a full 750ml bottle. I blame the poor quality roads in the UK. I've used these cages for 10 years and it's the first time this has happened. They are light, cheap and they look good. What more do you want?"

Pros: Good Fit
"My bike came fitted with these. When one broke, I didn’t even consider alternatives. This grips nigh on all bottles like a glove and yet there’s no struggle when it comes to release them."

Pros:

Stylish product
Pros: Attractive
"I bought this item as a present. It was very well recieved and looks very stylish on the bike. It was purchased with the bottle and they fit well together. Based on the reaction of my daughter-in-law I would recommend this product."

Does exactly as expected.
Pros: Durable, Good Fit
"Not the sexiest bike accessory but it does exactly as you want and need. No lose bottles, minimum shaking. It just looks and feels sturdier than previous cages."

Simple and effective
Pros: Great Value, Good Fit
"It does what it's designed to do, being simple, light and cheap. Bottle fit is snug so time will tell if it becomes loose but cheap enough to replace whenever needed."

安くて軽い
Pros: 耐久性, 良いバリュー, 丈夫さ, 順応性
Cons:

Look for a better option
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit
"The Tacx bottle cage is certainly simple and lightweight but the quality is questionable. I found the initial fit slightly off centre and the retention clip is very small. With the right bottle they work quite well but anything that is slightly sticky or oversized tends to get slightly jammed - not helpful when racing."

light, cheap and attractive
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight
"Tacx quality, light weight and cheap. After trying some lightweight carbon cages that couldn't hold the bottles on very bumpy roads I went back to my beloved Tacx Tao cages in black colour. I now have more than 8 Tao cages on a few of my bikes :)"

Not tight on some bottles
"Nice quality item but I find that it doesnt grip some bottles tightly. It's not that the bottles are likely to fall out as the design cups them well but the diameter is too large for about half my bottles and they rattle which is hugely annoying."

Good bottle but bewar using long bottles
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight
"I used 2 of these on my roady with the tall 800ml bottles sold on this site. The issue I had was that the bottles are so long that I had to squeeze them into the down tube cage, rubbing the brake cable on the way and bottle wouldn't go into the seat post cage at all.
The solution was to cut the rubber in the middle of the cage (where the logo is) so i could slide the bottle out from the front of the cage
There is no problem with this, the cages are still functioning great and i have no desire to change them but for my setup I should have bought a cage that allowed me to slide the bottle from the side or the front of the cage.
Still a great cage, especially if you use normal sized bottles or have a lot of room between down tube and top tube."
