Every part time mechanic should have one
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, Lightweight
Cons: long term stability
"I have for years only had one bike to service and fettle, so have never felt the need for a workstand until the family came along with all their bikes. Suddenly, I was looking around for something that would fit in my modest shed and then assemble outside for work., but didn't cost the earth. Imagine my surprise to find this nifty gadget. It comes in at a quarter of the price of a conventional workstand. It fits in the bottom of your tool box, heck it fits in your hydration bag if you want to take it with you. It lifts the rear wheel up so you can turn the crank without having to hold the bike up yourself, and it fits mountain bikes and hybrid/road tourers. Okay so you will still need to sit on the floor and make the adjustments but that's still a lot better than the alternative.
Like other reviewers I'd say its not going to be the most stable, but then this is not the stand for someone who is spending hours making fractional adjustments."

super handy lightweight stand
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, Lightweight
"i don't have much space at home to store tools, so this stand is perfect for doing work on the drive of my bike. small & lightweight, I take it with me on longer groups rides.
it can be a bit fiddly to use, especially if the ground is not dead-flat, but once you have it balanced, it works great"

Topeak Flash Stand Workstabd
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: flimsy rubber pads
"Slightly fiddly to set the bike up on it, but once set up, it's invaluable and avoids having to turn the bike upside down to make adjustments. However, I wish the rubber supports that sit underneath the bottom bracket would be less flimsy and wouldn't keep falling off as this is really irritating (there are spares with it though). They should be permanently fixed. Even though the instructions don't recommend using the stand with a bottle cage on the down tube, I had no problem with setting my bike up with them mine and I have two - one on the down tube and one on the bottom of the seat tube. I wouldn't use it instead of a full workstand but this one is good enough for quick repairs or keeping one in the car or even as a luxury item to carry on a fully laden tour."

Good when it is set up
Pros: Great Value
Cons: difficult to set up
"I found this really hard to set up. It kept collapsing when I put my bike on it. However when I got my friend to set it up for me it does work really well. It folds up very neatly and has a little storage bag. Good value for money."

Pros: 良いバリュー
Cons:

Pros: 良いバリュー
Cons:

Does the job
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: must remove bottle holder from down tube
"Obviously, this is not a workshop stand, so let's not compare it or complain about what it doesn't do. What it does do is the job -- it gets the back wheel off the ground so you can run through and adjust your gears. Granted it only just barely gets the wheel off the ground, and if you’re a bit rough with it, it will bend and drop the wheel lower, but if you treat it right, it does the job and is therefore a very handy thing to have. And almost as a bonus, it folds up into its own little bag and is light weight enough that you could take it on the road with you, although I'd rather use the space and weight for something you’re likely to use more frequently. One other possible drawback (for some) is that you have to remove the bottle holder from the down tube, as the bottle holder gets in the way."

Pros: Versatile, small, convenient
Cons: a bit unstable
"A handy work stand to keep in the back of the car. It is a little bit unstable so I wouldn't recommend it as your only work stand but as a backup it is fantastic. Folds up nice and small and is no problem to leave permanently in the back of my car."

Pros: Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, compact, folding
Cons: Low Quality
"The idea is great - a compact, portable, lightweight, folding stand to get the back wheel off the ground. The reality though is not so great. The rubber lugs that are supposed to support the bottom bracket fell off nearly every time I took the bike off the stand (I tried both sizes and the same thing kept happening, even though I took care to fit the lugs correctly). Then 7 months after purchase, in the cold weather at the weekend, when I put the bike on the stand one of the black support legs snapped at the hinge! Apparently not suitable for use in sub-zero temperatures then. They seem to be made of quite weak aluminium, which is thin at some points (such as the hinge). My bike is an aluminium hybrid, not particularly heavy."

handy little stand
Pros: Adjustable, Good Fit, does the job
"very convenient little stand.
Some mods -
- glued those little black bit rubbers before I lost any.
- cork on top of down tube to protect brake line & gear cable on the mtb 29er

Useful and cheap stand
Pros: Great Value, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Useful little stand for light maintenance work or for last minute tweaks on morning of race sportive
Only used a couple of times so far but easy to fit and seems quite robust. However as the instructions suggest not sure it would stand up to heavy work for long
At the sale price I paid a bargain"

Great product
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"The stand works a treat. Great for use as just stand and for giving a bike a simple service i.e. chain lube, gear adjustment etc.
Works as a workstand on our mountain bikes and my Specialized Sirrus hybrid.
On the Giant Avail road bike the stand part works but the pedals catch so can't be used as a workstand.

No Good For Full Suspension
Pros: Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit, rubber pads fall off
"Be Warned! I tried this on my full sus Specialized Camber and it didn't reach the ground, I have yet to try it on a Hardtail but think it will work. as other reviewers said the rubber pads fell off straight out of the box and need some adhesive to hold them in. the half price I paid is more than it is worth"

Almost but not quite..
Pros: Lightweight, portable
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality
"Keen to find a practical, cheap workstand I opted for the Topeak Flash stand. Topeak have a well earned reputation for great kit. I have quite a few other products by them and so looking forward to something equally well made. However this stand was not as good as I expected. On the plus side it folds up well and comes with its own storage bag. It all works after a fashion but the rear wheel on my road bike was barely lifted off the ground. Rubber pieces on the support which rest under the crank tend to fall off the stand. It is fairly unstable and the stand legs tend to bend backwards under the bike. The materials could be vastly improved to make the stand stronger and more resilient. The design works but is at the level of adequacy. Be warned that using it you may not be able to actually rotate your crank as I found on my sons racer. His pedal crank caught against the upper part of the stand when turned.
Personally I would recommend the stand given that it is quick to use, very portable and relatively cheap. However do not expect anything amazing as it barely lifts the rear wheel and leaves the bike still quite unsteady even with the front wheel tied. Buy it if it is on special offer!

great help
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"It is very well made and as it is compact you can store it very easily.
it hanged well my road bike as well as my mtb, making it easy to tune your gears without the need of a more robust bike holder.
as it stands on 2 points and the the fron tyre, you can place your bike on a shorter table or any lifted place to work."
