Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
"This bike rack is great - it does what's needed of it. Easy to fit, and only slips around a little bit when the bike is laid on its side with the rack and panniers on. Would recommend."

Pros: Lightweight, Good Fit
"I just got this small, light pannier rack today and so far my first impressions are good!! Although I need more time to thoroughly test it out.
Its very lightweight and was easy to attached to my seat post.
I got it for my road bike and so that i could do some light touring on it, such as a long weekend away.I didn t have eyelets on my road bike like my older hybrid so hopefully this will do the job.
(II ve got the compatible RX Trunk DXP with side panniers on order too)
Let you know more in time."

Lightwieght and easy to fit

Good product
Pros: Lightweight
"I toured using this rack (and the trunk bag with panniers) and I didn't have a single problem with it. As long as you tighten it as tight as possible around the seat tube it will not shift at all. It is very easy to fit as well."

Limited use
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Unadjustable, Poor Fit, doesn't carry normal sized panniers!, not quick release
"I bought this thinking it would be quick release and still allow me to use my own pannier.
It isn't quick release as you need to unscrew the two allen bolts each time. Sounds easy, but when you consider it takes you 5 minutes to fiddle about with the bracket and get the rack on in the first place, taking it off is less appealing.
However, that's not the worse thing about it. The side frames are so small they don't prevent any pannier of normal proportions from swinging into the rear wheel.
If all you're looking for is a permenantly mounted rack that carries very small bags or items on the top then go for it. Otherwise it's not much use."

Pros: High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"For fans of the cantilever, this is a winner. A lightweight rack to carry the DXP bag, with side frames to secure the flappy side bits."

Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile
"Bought this for use on my new Moulton TSR so that I could use my existing panniers or Topeak trunk bag. I've used it for my regular commute (28km return, with a heavy briefcase plus office clothes), grocery shopping, and an extended cycle tour. Despite the recommended maximum load of 9kg I have carried up to 15kg on it with no ill effects, and in fact once or twice that was a one-sided, single-pannier load!
The narrow tubing meant I had to buy clasp inserts for my Ortlieb panniers, and I added a bit of nylon tubing, slit and held on with cable ties, where the lower pannier hook goes, to reduce rattling. So far, that's seemed a small price to pay for the versatility and convenience.
I've always made sure to tighten the mounting securely and it has never swung loose (fits my 31.8mm seatpost really well, might be a different story on narrower seatposts, I don't know). I do notice some flexibility of the side frame but never enough to bother me. I don't expect the bungy cord will last but I expect I can replace it with something better when it goes."

Good for packages
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"I'm often bringing packages to the post office and quite often they're too large for my rucksack. This rack works great for small, light packages. The specs say it's good for 7kg but I'd rather not load it up that much as it makes the bike a little unstable and I'm not sure if my bungees would hold it. The built in bungee system works well for small, very light items like an envelope but I can see the rubber is already cracking after three months of used. I expect it to snap within a year."

neat and light
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit
"The bike feels so light with it on, you'd hardly know it was there at all. I'm actually working on a custom made small basket, as I don't like the purpose built bags. A bit of a problem with the spacers supplied, they didn't allow for my 28.5mm seat stem - combinations were either too fat or too thin. You really have to watch it when you screw the bolts in too - I think it would be very easy to strip the threads as they don't necessarily line up that well when you're trying to fit the clamp over the rubber spacers.
I usually only carry light loads, so this will replace a full pack-rack and basket - I still haven't really got it fully sorted, but I'm already liking it a lot more.

Moveable
Cons: Expensive, Poor Fit
"This was easy to fit and was certainly the right size for my Felt zw100. It seemed reasonably tight and in position but then a slight knock sent it to the side and this will be dangerous if it happens whilst riding so I' will have a cautious ride with it before using it for the trip that I bought it for, I'm thinking this could turn out to be an expensive mistake"

Great for light duties
"I've been abusing this on the commute for a while, does a good job at carrying a light load on a bike not designed to take a rack. Its quick and easy to fit and can carry a decent weight.
Unfortunately it can tend to slip and rotate around the seatpost from time to time sometimes causing the bags to rub the wheel. Not being quick release it is a bit of a faff to take on and off regularly.
Its great for light duties, day rides etc but doesnt cut it for much more than this."

Pros: Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I used the Beam Rack with side frames on a trip from Lands End to John O Groats. I wanted to keep my luggage light and try to complete a fast ride. The racking was lightweight, stable and fitted to the bike with a secure seat post fittng. I would reccomend it highly"

Very practical!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Use this to strap my laptop bag to, and with my RX trunk bag.
It looks great on the bike not spoiling the aesthetics too much and it's just very practical if you buy a couple of bungees to strap things to it.
Must say, the bungee supplied is pretty useless and I lost it after a year of use."

Good for race bikes
"Very good, but a little limited in how much weight it can carry. It is ideal for daily work commute though.
RX is race bike version, and has fewer pannier options than MTB type, but it does the job. Wish it had quick release though (Some/all MTB versions do)"

Only 1 niggle
Pros: Rugged
Cons: Poor Fit
"Great product (but I've always liked Topeak products). Fits well onto a variety of my bikes, doesn't take more than 10 minutes to change over (I don't do this often, but it happens). Only small complaint is that the locking system with the panniers is *very* tight - have to really writhe the bag around to get it off. I thought it would get better with age, but I've been using it for over 6 months now and it's still hard to get a bag on, and even harder to get it off. However, once on the product is great, doesn't move an inch."

Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"It was worth getting this model rather than the smaller straight version.
The only criticism is over the rubber bungees built on... they are a little bit useless but they come off easily. It took about 2 minutes to assemble and put on the bike.... you've really got to ratchet up that attachement though and putting it on a carbon seat post is a no no. I used it recently on the London to Paris ride as I was filming and it was an invaluable piece of kit. The image shows how the rack fitted with other pouches and bags.

Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features
"I purchased the Beam rack to enable me carry a light touring pack on my Carbon framed road bike (Focus Cayo).
The rack does exactly what it says on the tin and works well with the associated panniers.
As it's designed for road bikes, it only carrys 15lb max and it is on the small size, but it does look good.
I ride a 56cm frame and the V beam is definitely the right one to have, it enables a good separation between the pack and my backside, helping keep the centre of gravity lower and allowing for a wedge style under saddle pack to keep the spares & tools in.
Quite expensive overall, over £90 by the time you buy the panniers and waterproof cover, but it does the job well.

Perfect rack!
Pros: Attractive, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
"I am very impressed with the build quality of the Topeak Beam Rack. It is very light, fits together well and the clamp is rock solid on the seat stem with no wobble or vibration. The Topeak bag fits extremely well and the locking mechanism is secure."
