"Fitted this to two of my bikes so far and can't rate it high enough.
Yes, it adds a touch of extra weight to your bike, but this is cancelled out by the relaxing ride it gives on the tough UK roads.

I never get tired or sore hands when out on the road now and having gone back to my old winter bike for the first time in ages I can really see how much difference this makes. Got back after a few hours and my hands were starting to cramp up.

Nice looking

"I wanted to change my bar tape on my primary racer at the end of the summer season, as the previous white tape was looking a little worse for wear. I was also getting a fair amount of problems with road buzz so decided to go for this fizik tape to give the gel pads a shot.
I've been using my winter racer over the past few months so cant really comment on the tapes durability...the gel pads definately seem to have helped with the road buzz problem my bike was generating and seems much better.
I bought black, which looks great and i'd recommend any fellow rider who rides a lot to always buy a dark colour grip. White may look the part to begin with..but really doesn't last long in terms of looks!"

"For those longer rides this is a great product.Ive completed several century rides in comfort.For maxium comfort ,although be prepared for a spongey effect if you use all the gel inserts.
This is the 2nd time Ive purchased this product its easy to apply and I only had to replace mine due to a road accident,Im sure it would have lasted for several years as the previous lasted 3 years...what more can I say?"

Great Bar Tape

"First time i have done my own bar tape and this kit worked out really well. This is on the expensive side but the gel pads are good quality and stick to the bars well.
The tape itself looks durable, and is definately more grippy than a standard tape, even when soaking wet. It is also much thinner than regular bar tape, so suits wider carbon or aero bars well, without making them look "jumbo sized".
Unsre yet wether the cushioning is better or worse than standard gel tape, but overall i'm very pleased with it."

"Gone from cheap and nasty halfords 'supplied with bike' bar tape, to Fizik Microtex with Gel Pads. Wow what a difference! Yes they add a little diameter to the bar and drops but personally I like the additional comfort. Only marginally more taxing to install than any other bar tape, I've found this pack has complimented my already very comfortable gel gloves. Having only used them for around two weeks their longevity is yet untested, but initial experiences are all good."

"These gel pads take a lot of road buzz out of a ride - not so important on shorter rides but over longer distances on rougher surfaces, you'll appreciate it. Should last a very long time.
Don't add too much bulk to the bars either."

"I fitted these to my handlebars before taking part in Tour of Flanders Sportive and the gel pads certainly aid comfort. . However, it is essential that you judge the taping correctly because if you try and remove the tape to re-adjust the adhesive strip removes the tape from underneath."

"After reading all the glowing reviews I was looking forward to using this.
However, my expectations were not met.
The gel padding is actually very good, works well and is recommended. What I did not like was the bar tape. It felt nice, but it was a real pain to rewrap and get right, as well as not being very robust and ripping in a couple of places.
Also, from a looks point of view, the perforations just don't work for me.
So, not something I would buy again, although would like the gel to be sold separately.
What would I recommend? Handlebra leather wrap - much more money, but not what I call expensive, as it is a beautiful product and worth every cent (needs to be ordered from the US)."
