Essential Purchase for getting the wetsuit off

"Have always bought this - usually at the expo at the event since it seems to be the one thing I forget to put in the tri box.
This stuff is great, non greasy, and really stops any chafing of the wetsuit around the neck and wrists.
Getting out of the wetsuit is also aided massively - under 4 seconds assuming I'm not dizzy having just stood up.
Bodyglide also do a version with sunscreen built in (SP25) which is great to stop the greasy hands / sunscreen eating your wetsuit joints.
There is a small downside - you do need to be generous with it and the stick isn't that huge - nearly use a whole one per event after forearms, calves and neck. If you don't keep winding the stick out the edges of the plastic do dig in as you're using it.
Buy it if you don't already have some - I've never regretted it yet!"

Absolutely essential for long runs

"I'm hugely impressed by this and wouldn't use anything else. Chafing has been the bane of my running / trekking life and can become a major issue on a long run and cause real damage. This stuff works brilliantly, eliminates the problem, and isn't at all unpleasant or greasy to use. It doesn't mark or spoil clothes, it just works.

I recently completed, to my surprise, a 105-mile ultra, and a single generous application of this round all my 'moving parts' and anywhere liable to rub lasted the entire first day (70 miles). A quick top-up after a short snooze then saw me through to 105 miles with no abrasion whatever.

I use it to avoid chafing around legs, and also to reduce likelihood of blisters forming on feet, and it does both jobs perfectly. I can't recommend it too highly and wouldn't use anything else."

Say goodbye to soreness

"When I run, I sweat. It's not nice for me or anyone that must see me. Not only that, but sweaty feet and sweaty inner thighs can lead to chaffing and soreness. In fact, on longer runs, I would end up not being able to walk due to either chaffed skin or blisters. That hardly made running a very enjoyable experience. My wife in all her wisdom suggested that I use vasoline or hair wax (not sure where she got either idea but the smell put me off both!)

It was then that I decided that I needed a better solution. After reading several articles on the Internet, it was clear that Bodyglide's range of products were highly favoured. Although not cheap, the fact that I could enjoy running again made this purchase priceless.

The product looks very much like a deodorant dry stick and at 5am in the morning when rooting around for the Bodyglide in the dark, I need to make sure I grab the right container. Once that hurdle's out of the way, it's just a case of applying the formula to areas prone to blisters and chaffing. Takes moments and works perfectly. The formula is almost odorless too which means that I don't leave a waft of perfumed air as I pass pedestrians.

Pain-free runs are now a reality!"

Better than vaseline

"There are two differing opinions regarding whether to use Bodyglide or Vaseline on wetsuits. I've always used Bodyglide but several mates use Vaseline. Their argument is that it is cheaper, easy to buy and apply. Though Vaseline is petroleum-based and should not be used on rubber, they further argue that by the time any potential damage is caused to the rubber, it probably has already had several tears, rips and splits, and is due for a replacement anyway. So what's good about Bodyglide? Well it contains no harmful chemicals, washes off easily and is easy to apply. Because it comes in a container - like a deodorant stick, you apply it without getting greasy fingers - always a hazard when using swimming goggles. I use it on my thighs and armpits when cycling, running and swimming and will last all-day."

Chafing sucks - Bodyglide rules!

"I have suffered serious chafing from a number of different disciplines, and boy can it ruin it. What a pain in the bum, sometimes literally. I have tried various anti chafe products and all work to an extent but all have some pretty major flaws. Bodyglide is the only product I have found that works without the drawbacks. It is clear, easy to apply, does not have a nasty greasy residue (a la Vaseline) and can readily be washed off with a good old bit of soap and warm water. It comes in different sizes, so you can have it in your wash bag for racing/training/leisure activities when travelling too. You can also get it with sun protection, which is great for ears/neck/shoulders when racing in minimalist tri suits in hot climates. Basically I think this is a great product, have now used it for 3 years and have converted quite a few people to the benefits of Bodyglide. The fact it does not ruin your wetsuit (unlike some) is a total bonus. It may seem expensive but it goes a long way, and let's face it - your comfort is worth it. Stop chafing and glide along!"

life saver

"Tried various things to prevent and relieve running chafe around the thighs but NOTHING has worked as well as this. Easy and clean to apply, no smell and works great even after long, sweaty runs when I'd usually be struggling with sore, red chafe. Highly recommended and i wish I'd bought it sooner"

Lots of uses

"- I put it on the inside of my shoes in triathlon transition (both ride and run) to make it easier/faster to slide them on. Overtook a couple of guys in transition just last Sunday.
- I am prone to blisters on the sides of my big toes and balls of my feet, so I use this stuff before a run. It protects my feet.
- I suffer from nipple chafing on long runs and when running with a wet shirt or tri top. I dabbed BodyGlide on before the race. Works a treat.
- my girlfriend and mother in law like using it wearing high heeled shoes and flats around the city (NY and London) and rave that it saves their feet.

It doesn't make me coffee in the morning and I haven't tested its nutritional values, but otherwise, a great product.

Note that Compeed also do a similar anti blister glide product which comes in a smaller more convenient tube about the size of a lipstick."

"I've been using Body Glide for over two years now, and apply it whenever I do runs of 10Km or more. Since I've been using it I have not suffered any chafing, nor painful and embarrasing nipple bleeds. It is THE product I reccomend to anyone suffering the same. "Brilliant for the only niggles I get when running - stops my heart-rate monitor from rubbing a welt into my chest on long runs and stops a couple of my toes from rubbing themselves raw in shoes with a too-narrow toebox (Kinvara 2s).

It did seem a bit expensive when I bought it, but I don't need much for my purposes so it should last months. Will definitely buy again."
