A perfect training aid
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"Unfortunately, this winter's snow and ice had made me a very fair weather cyclist and my fitness had dropped dropped right off. I therefore decided to do something about it and buy a turbo trainer and spent a great deal of time researching the right model, before plumping for the Cycleops model.
I have to say it is utterly fantastic - I wasn't sure how usable and quiet it would be, given that it is at the inexpensive end of the scale but I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I am far from gifted in DIY etc but it was very simple to put together and it also folds and stores very easily.
More importantly though, it simply works very, very well - the resistance can be controlled extremely easily via the gears and it is very quiet indeed - i tend to use it either outside or on our stone kitchen floor and it is quiet enough not to scare our new and very nervy puppy!
I have used the DVD a few times and it does help fight the boredom but I tend to rely on loud music on my mp3 player and interval training workout sessions on www.turbotraing.co.uk to keep me interested and motivated - which works very well. Far from dreading using my Cycleops - I genuinely look forward to using it when i get home from work and will continue to use it in summer evenings as I find I can get a solid training ride in half the time a road-ride would take.
I also purchased the Cycleops riser block and towelling cover which work extremely well with the Turbo Trainer.
I would happily recommend the Turbo Trainer to anyone looking for a simple and effective way of getting quality riding time in either wintry conditions or when time is an issue.."

Its a dream to ride on
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable
"Until 2 days ago I have been using a tyre shredding trainer that has been impossible to use. I got my trainer in the mail and to my surprise is was very simple for me to set up being a female that hates instructions. I jumped on the trainer this morning for an interval session and it blew me out of the water.
The session was hard but the trainer was great. There were no resistance levers it worked purely on the effort I was putting in and my gear change. So it is almost like riding on the road in your garage. it was smooth, and fairly quite.
Very impressed"

Would recommend to anyone
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"This cycle trainer is the best thing I have ever purchased.
It represents both value for money and one of the best Turbo trainers on the market.
I have not been able to ride out due to damaging my ankle and surrounding area.
So I was looking for a turbo trainer to help build the damaged area up and to maintain my fitness, well this is the product.
Once I bought the front wheel support as well to maintain a good riding position I have not looked back.
I like the fact that there are no handle bar controls!
With this trainer the harder you work the harder the trainer works. You are left to chain gear and watch the DVD that came with the trainer.
This is quality kit as soon as you open the box, it is well built and finished off real good.
This as I have said before represents great value. I have been on a three day week for 6 months and spending money on what essentially is a luxury item for us, was not easy to justify.
The reviews and the website came me all the information I needed to make an informed decission.
If you in the market for a good stable, well made, cost effective training aid.........Then this is the one!

Brilliant training aid
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"Really easy to put together. Feels like you're on the road - compared to other trainers its the most realistic that I have used to date. Very low noise and excellent resistence. Great quality and durable."

Does the job nicely
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Not Enough Features
"This is my first trainer. I'd hear of people having problems with some trainers wearing out tyres but so far this hasn't been a problem.
The training itself is good. Lets me escape the cold winter and feel like me and my legs have had a good ride out.
Pretty straightforward to set up, even changing the spindle on the bike went like a breeze.
As for the DVD, its pretty dull even with a 50" plasma screen in front of me so I tend to stick to my music.
All in all seems to do the job nicely although I can't compare it to anything else."

hammer that turbo
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"This is my first turbo trainer so i have nothing to compare it to except the road. This turbo is outstanding. The build quality is great, it feels so solid and sturdy once all set up it isnt going anywhere. Even when giving it full beans!! You can vary the resistance simply by applying more pressure on the roller. When riding it to increase the resistance just change gear as you would normally. Adjusting the bike to fit is a straight forward process and you are ready to rock in minutes. the free DVD is Race day and to complete the 40min session is hardcore. Though i do recommend the other Cyclops real ride DVDs. They really do work and make the turbo seesion much more enjoyable."

top product
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile
"after using this for the first time i could not beleive the difference it made comparted tpo my old wind trainer. The biggest difference i noticed was that the resistance is constant through the whole pedal revolution not just on the down stroke. Also when standing on the bike in a harder gear the trainer simulates climbing up a hill very well due to the constant resistance.
i love this trainer and would highly recommend.

Very impressed!
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit, great for training when weather is inclement.
"I've had this trainer for a month now and I think it is excellent. I bought it to keep my fitness up through the winter months ( I don't like riding on the road when it's snowing or raining for safety reasons ). It is easy enough to set up and very sturdy once the bike sits in it. The resistance is controlled by using your gears, it's that simple! I've had lots of great workouts so far with it. The dvd is an excellent training tool too. It's like having a personal trainer in the room with you. They didn't send the dvd with the trainer but I used live chat and was sent it within a couple of days. Don't hesitate to purchase this if you want to keep fit in the winter period : ) ."

Superb
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit, safe in winter months!
"For the safety conscious out there, this is a must have purchase. I will not ride in winter weather as my bike has zero grip in wet conditions. You can keep yourself in tip top shape over the winter season and remain completely safe in the comfort of your own home. The trainer is extremely sturdy, I am 14 stone and it didn't budge with heavy pedalling. Forget using the instructions, just use this video on youtube and you will be set up in a very short time.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMWVA94ySQs&list=FL2WRfHqbSkpiCCk4Ba7dMQw&index=1"

a great piece of kit
"This has been perfect for my hybrid bike. I have it set up out in a shed but it is neat enough to be manageable indoors. The instructions do let it down - they could have been a bit more comprehensive and getting it set up involved some head scratching (& swearing!), But once set up nothing more is needed and it is dead simple to take the bike on and off. Effort levels can be easily adjusted using your bikes own gears so I can see no reason to look for one with resistance settings. I don't have a holder for my front wheel and don't really feel the need.
It will never beat the pleasure of being out on the road but it provides a brilliant way to fit an exercise session into your day if you don't have much time or the weather is bad.
I haven't had it long enough to comment on its durability but I am impressed with my experience so far."

Best and worse purchase ever!
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Adjustable, quiet
"Best - as its getting this once fit athlete to regain some fitness and lose weight, after 10years of doing nothing.
Worse - as it makes my legs hurt :)
Great trainer - easy to build (I've seen some reviews where people say its tricky) i had the bike in and on in 5min.
Where it is tricky is getting your bike into it, as its a bit tricky to hold the bike up and screw the holding mechanism to size - but to be fair you only ever need do this once.
In use its deceptively powerful, quiet and runs cool, Im only doing fairly leisurely 40min 'rides' on it though.

Great product
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: little noisy
"I bought this based on quite a few good reviews and while its a good product, I don't think its 'that' quiet. I live in an apartment and my neighbor who lives below me complained about the noise (i guess if you live in a house its different).
The actual machine is good though and you definitely get a good workout, although no substitute for getting out on the road."

Great product, no complaints
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, well designed, excellent for beginners
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features
"This is my first turbo trainer, so I did quite a lot of research when buying this one. The Magneto got good reviews because of the automatic constant change of resistance based on how fast (or slow!) the rider pedals. It also got good reviews for being quiet (which it is).
I haven't been disappointed and it has comfortably met my winter training needs. Most of my workouts have been heart rate based and the constant change of resistance works well with that set up.
If I wasn't using a heart rate monitor to train, I might want a turbo trainer with more information, e.g. cadence, watts, road speed. But TTs with that set up are a lot more money.
All TTs are costly for what you get (in my opinion), so it is difficult to comment on value for money. The Magneto is certainly well built, easy to set up and use. Would recommend for entry level to intermediate turbo training sessions."

Perfect for a turbo-trainer newbie
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, quieter than expected
"This is my first venture into indoor training and the Cycleops couldn't have made it any easier. It's a really solid bit of kit which is confidence building when you're hard at it.
There's plenty of resistance, and, having read that magnetic trainers were noisy, I was pleasantly surprised by the cycleops' quietness.
One slight niggle: When using my Campag QR skewers, the rear wheel clamp takes the paint off, but as there's a skewer supplied, I just swap them over whenever I use the trainer."

Nice and quiet
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile
"I have spent hours on this turbo, there are no fancy resistance adjusters or anything, you just use the gears and away you go.
Lots of friends complain about how noisy their turbo is, but this is pretty quiet, especially when you use the specific turbo tyres.
I have used it with a mountain bike and a road bike no problem.
It is very stable and the way the legs fold i make it easy to store."
