Easy Peasy
Pros: Durable, Good Fit, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"These chain links are a god send. Gone are the days of fiddling with an extractor tool, or even worse a hammer a nail and a vice.
They are very simple to fit without needing any tools. Simply push the two sides together - job done. Even better it is very simple to seperate the chain when you want to which is ideal for cleaning. To seperate just squeeze together and push the chain together.
These are so small and light you would be crazy not to carry one when out riding, just in case. I was this crazy person, but after a 5 mile walk with a broken chain in one hand and a useless bike on the other I have learnt my lesson."

If you use Shimano 8 speed chains - get these NOW!
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Good Fit
"To my knowledge these are the only removable chain links that properly fit Shimano HG50 8 speed chains. Shimano HG50 chains are great - the only drawback to them is that they don't have a removable link. SRAM ones won't fit. Wipperman links do fit them but they're a royal pain in the backside to clip and unclip. These KMC links not only fit the Shimano chains but have exactly the same ease of use as the SRAM links. And they're cheaper too. At the moment I cannot recommend them highly enough (although admittedly I haven't really put in much mileage with these links as of writing, it's just that they were a joy to fit! :)"

For Shimano HG Narrow chain use the 7.1mm
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Good Fit
"I now have KMC speed links on all the chains in my family. They work perfectly and coupled with some link pliers are quick and easy to use. I originally purchased the 7.3mm links as it states that these fit Shimano HG chains but it seems that HG Narrow chains have 7.1mm pins. Luckly i've been able to use the 7.3s on another 8speed bike. Great service from Wiggle - delivered incorrect product at first but quickly corrected - Thanks!!"

Didn't fit
Cons: Poor Fit
"While these links seemed like they should work with the KMC Z610 HX Silver Chain they are specific to only a couple of KMC chains and don't fit the chain I use."

must have spare
Pros: Great Value
"I was bored one night and durring some random browsing I came across an article on some must have trail items and the logic behind having one of these in your pack made me think why on earth have I never carried one before? I had just ridden with the logic that if the chain snaps ill shorten it, but now I shouldnt need to. Fortunately I havent needed to use these yet, but the chain im running came with the same link and has run flawlessly. so for the sake of a couple of quid, even if i dont use it and pass it on to a fellow/unknown rider on the trail its a good thing to carry."
