Stand Out From The Crowd
Pros: visible & waterproof
"Absolutely brilliant. I had fancied one of these Respro covers for a while now, thinking that it would be added armour for my daily commute. How right I was. The contrast between the fluoro yellow, reflective panels & in your face HUMP jet black font ensures that this cover can be seen from all angles. I initially splashed out good money for an excellent "NightVision" reflective jacket (recommended!!) but then promptly covered the back of it with a black hole of a rucksack..... not good, defeats everything the jacket was designed to do..... However, add a Respro cover and I honestly feel more confident on my commute. It is rather expensive for the material you end up with in your grubby oil stained mits, but you cannot put a price on added visibility.... there are 5 of us who commute to work & the other 4 have said they are for sure buying this product. Oh & by the way, it is waterproof, so no more soggy sandwiches or undies."

My eyes, my eyes!!!!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features, needs a loop to attach a rear light
"I bought this backpack cover because my backpack is low-vis and not waterproof.
I ride my bike to work, and since I work in an industrial area, it's important for me to be visible to big trucks and vans and whatnot. To say that this backpack cover is bright would be an understatement! Whenever I'm near it, I feel like I need to wear sunglasses!
The two vertical scotch-lite panels are sewn on, and I suspect that they are there to stay. The chevrons in the middle of the pack appear to be painted or dyed on (ie they are not sewn on). Mine seem to be staying on for now (I've had the cover for about a month and it has been used every other weekday for commuting to work).
The little mesh pocket at the back is, in my opinion, a little too small to be useful. Once the cover is snugly fitted over the backpack, it doesn't leave much room for the mesh pocket to expand. I use it to carry maps and my train pass, as well as a blinky red light. There is a small cloth label sewn into the pocket. I use this to secure my train pass to the cover using a lanyard. That way I don't need to remove my backpack to get to the pass, and the train pass doesn't get lost. This is very handy.
I haven't had the opportunity to use the backpack cover in the rain yet. I suspect it would do just fine in an average shower and probably heavy rainfall too. The only issue is that although the cover itself might be waterproof, it does not cover the part of the backpack that makes contact with your back. Runoff from your helmet or raincoat could conceivably soak into that part of the backpack. So I think that this cover alone would not be 100% protection against moisture in the event of rain, perhaps more like 90%.
There is no purpose-built loop to attach a red blinky light to the backpack cover. This is an annoyance, and I wish that provision had been made for attachment of a light. I've resorted to putting a light in the mesh pocket, but movement in the pocket means it usually gets turned sideways. I always have a blinky running under the bike's saddle, but I wish the light on the backpack itself were more visible. It also gets obscured somewhat by the mesh fabric. More thought should've been put into this, and I hope it's added in future versions of the cover.
The cover is secured to the backpack by way of two elastic straps that secure to the cover using press-close studs. The nature of the cover is such that it is something that's installed or removed from the backpack at least twice per use (eg at the start of the day to load up all your stuff, and when you get to your destination to take your stuff out). So the straps will get regular/daily use. They don't look particularly strong, and I wonder if they will survive the test of time. The outer edges of the cover are also elasticated, so in the event of a strap failure, the cover will stay attached to the backpack.
In short - this is a VERY bright backpack cover that certainly attracts attention. I feel safer when riding in heavy traffic. It does everything I need it to do. I would like to see a loop added to the back to attach a red light. The straps could probably be beefed up a little. The mesh pocket could be a little bigger. All in all, despite the little annoyances, this cover is a winner."

Hump-tastic!
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Lightweight, Versatile
"I bought this back pack cover because it is highly visable, waterproof and functional. Like most people I thought I was 'invincible' to being knocked off, until one dull-ish Sept morning when 'bang', hit from the side and rear by a motorist on a roundabout who claimed that he didn't see me as my top was red! 'same colour as the road cones' However, a broken collar bone and 8 months later, I realize that covering any colour top up with a dark back pack is silly! This product is the first thing a motorist sees as they approach. It is simple to apply and adjustable. It could also be used as a pannier cover when touring. It keeps all contents dry inside my back pack and cleaner(no road spray). Ideal for a quick turnaround change at work or at leisure. You can also attach lights to it. My confidence was low after my collision but this item has helped me recover that."

Dry and bright for a great price
Pros: Adjustable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, simple!
"Many thanks to Hump for what so far is turning out to be a great value purchase. This product does what it says on the tin:
* Helps you be seen (bonus!)
* Keeps your bag dry (good news for my laptop)
* Easy to pack away and store
There's not much else you can say about a back pack cover but I'd highly recommend, it's a small price to pay for you safety and a dry laptop!"

A great idea that works well
Pros: Lightweight, highly visible
Cons: Unadjustable, one size only
"The waterproof Hump's a great idea that I've found invaluable: definitely worth the premium price.
I don't want to buy a luminous rucksack, nor less carry one around all day, but I do want to be seen on my bike. The Hump's excellent reflectivity ensures that I'm visible, whilst my kit is kept dry on those wet days. As I always commute with a bag (& Hump), I can be safe and seen in my normal jacket, saving me from investing in a luminous jacket too. The small mesh pocket is useful, and can hold a light for extra visibility.
In over 3 years of regular use I haven't endured the maintenance/wear issues of some reviewers. I haven't washed it, but can't see why I'd need to. It comes off my bag and packs easily into it when I'm off the bike. It's easy to fit on and off, and is held securely in place by two elastic straps with press-stud fastenings. Fit is quite tight on a full daysack. It certainly doesn't fit my 40L pack, so I'd like to see a range of sizes. I'd buy a bigger one too for my heavy pack days if they did one.

Excellent but don't wash it in a washing machine

Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Versatile, highly visable
"I have used this cover everyday for a year and a half now and its still going strong. I use it on a quite large Dakine pack, and the elastic straps are still intact.
Its a very good idea to have a bag cover as high vis jacket become useless if you cover it over with a black bag! I use this for commuting even in the summer months. It also keeps your kit dry on wetter days.
Whatever you do don't stick it in the washing machine as the Scotchlite tape begins to peel off. I have modified mine with more Respro Scotchlite tape so some of the chevrons are also reflective.
Once its threadbare there's no doubt I will be buying another one of these and some tape."

good buy
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: no loop for clip on light
"I bought this to make my self more visible as my ruck sack covered the rear of my hi viz jacket, this cover does exactly what i needed and is a snug fit keeping my bag dry in the rain.it was smaller than i expected but fitted well to my rucksack with the two elastic straps to hold it in place. use this regularly and so far no problems. I clip a led light onto the mesh pocket but it could have done with a loop for more secure fastening. overall very good product"

De Facto for a good reason

Not quite
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: dome quality
"Wanted high visablity and got it. But the domes on the straps both broke and if its heavy rain then water will come in around your neck. I ended up getting a waterproof high vis bag to replace back pack + this (well I stopped using this when the domes broke as I got sick of stopping on the road to pick it up)"

Hi viz and dry
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I bought 1 of these as a waterproof cover for my backpack. It works well is all but the most extreme wet conditions for my relatively short commute. Obviously the straps of your backpack will get wet and this can soak through but I haven't had any issues with wet clothes since I bought this. The high viz finish is a strong selling point as my rain jacket is a dark colour. I don't tend to encounter much heavy traffic on my commute but I would consider using this on every ride if I did, just for visibility and safety."

Does what it says on the (reusable) packet
Pros: Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Really happy with this item. The cover's elasticated edges hug smaller and larger bags making it pretty versatile, while the elasticated straps with poppers secure it firmly to your bag. Bit of a faf getting in and out of the bag when it's secured but can't really avoid that.
Does a good job of keeping the contents of my bag dry in rain (nb. haven't used it in a torrential downpour yet) and makes me feel instantly visible to road users behind me.
Only quibble is the price, which seems a bit steep for what is effectively an, albeit effective, rectangle of waterproof material."

Essential commuting wear
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit, essential
"This product is a very well made, of a usefully size to cover most back packs, it is highly reflective and also acts as a rain cover. It was cleverly designed so that it can be easily removed or just released from the top so that you can gain access to the backpack without having to release it from the bottom of the back pack.
I cycle to work throughout the year and need to take a reasonably large backpack with my lunch, change of clothes etc. I found this was largely blocking the reflective rain jacket I was wearing from being seen by traffic and this is a perfect solution to my problem. I would highly recommend this product."

Best value for money ?
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Versatile, Good Fit, high visibility
"Using it during my motorbike transportationsfor work it fits well with my Samsonite laptop bag, it is highly visibly, and after 1,5 years, with not much use because it is not raining too much here in Greece, it is so far durable and waterproof as well."
