KMX X9-93 9 speed chain

"Fantastic quality but at a reasonable price too.
I bought this chain to replace the standard one that came with my boardman hybrid when it snapped and I'm very impressed with it so far.
As stated in the product description, the shape of the links seems to help it shift slightly quicker and easier and with the added bonus of the easy to remove and replace "missing link" type thing, it's a doddle to remove for cleaning.
I'll definetly be buying more of these in future - thanks Wiggle!!!

Great Product Great Price

"I would normally go for something higher end but this time I thought what's the point. I ride Cannock chase and that great combo of sand and water make a great grinding paste that eats my bike chains alive. So, with some trepadation I thought, a third of the price but I will hchange it 3 times as often will sure will do my cassette and sprockets some good. I have done about 300 miles on this so far in some awful conditions and my measuring tool shows no stretch. Shiftings great and as good as a far more expensive chain. Staying with these in summer weather. Great product that does everything a more expensive chain would. Why pay more?"

"I`m running 2 of these chains on both of my mountain bikes.
The X93 is really all the chain you need.It is durable and shifts well.The plated links offer better corrosion resistance than the standard X9 but is much cheaper than the the X9 L and SL which save very little weight over this and are arguably weaker.
The connecting link works really well and is a god send for removing the chain for cleaning.
I`m normally a big fan of Shimano but will now only use KMC chains.As a previous user of SRAM chains,I`d use KMC over those too.
Great product and chepaer than the competition too."

I have broken chains in the past but I don't think I will break this one. The sideplate strength is tremendous (much higher than the Campagnolo I fitted previously) and the quick-link fitting is just simplicity itself compared with tedious rivetting.
This chain has lasted one season already and might just see me out for another as well. Not the lightest chain but if you prefer reliability for mile munching rather than hour long race lightness then you can't go wrong, especially"

KMC: accept no alternative

"Over the years I have tried chains from shimano (usually standard fitting to a bike), Sram and KMC. Without exception, be it 8 (single speed), 9 (mountain/road) or 10 speed (road) the KMC have been more durable, less noisy and smoother shifting and usually cheaper than all the others. I won't consider any other make of chain; buy with confidence."

"Brilliant chain for the money.
Improves shifting performance over standard chain, had several KMC chains in the past and they seem quite durable. Link pins seems very well attached and the reusable joiner link is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it."

"This was so incredibly easy to fit. Just use a link tool to shorten to the length of the ridiculously worn old chain and use the magic link to join. On in 10 minutes. Quality product. Liked it so much I quickly sent off for another so I would have a spare to encourage me to renew at correct time rather than waiting until it fell apart."

"having had problems with sram breaking(am a heavy rider) Thought id try a KMC. Only got about 40 miles so far but chain felt very string when i had to break to fit, and so far feels a lot better than the srams i've had. Time will tell if it can stand the pasting its gonna get!"

Shifting is not great
Cons: Poor Fit
"Good in principle, joining link is a bonus, but compared to Shimano equivalent which can be bought for a similar price, the shifting is nowhere near as good. I fitted this with a new cassette so wear is not a factor. I can live with it until it needs replaced, but a bit disapointed"

It's a chain, durability is king.

"Tried a few other chains (Sram, Shimano etc) and always seem to either snap them or they wear out rather quickly. This chain just does what you expect, turn the rear wheel, change gear easily and not wear out. Quality product."
