Mmmm.... hollow pins

"For a £7 premium over the standard PC991 chain, you get added fresh air in the form of hollow pins. Not only is this much easier than hollowing out your own chain pins (not recommended!), but it means you save several fracitons of a gram in weight! Nice.
Sarcasm aside, a lovely looking chain (if that sort of thing floats your boat) and hard-wearing. Just look after it, please. I hate to see rusty or ill maintained chains. My recipe for happy chains, once a week is...
1. Hold a cloth a around the chain, somewhere near the chain stay.
2. Spin the cranks twenty times or so, thus wiping muck of the chain.
3. Put a drop of oil on each link.
4. Twenty more revolutions of the cranks without a cloth to work it in.
5. Twenty more revolutions of the cranks with a cloth to wipe off the surplus.

Add that extra bling to your bike!

"I bought this chain to replace the worn out chain which came with my bike. I have searched high and low for a chain which was practical as well as looked good.
The quick release link is very easy to locate and then seperate. The hollow pins add that extra something.
So far, no dramas after riding 1000 miles + on this chain.
All in all a very good investment!"

"I was recommended to buy one so I didn't have to worry about chain links. And they were so right, this is extremely easy to attach, with the power link. It's a good looking, nice performing chain, but it's not exactly cheap."

Be warned though that it comes without Lube in the chain. There is what appears to be some preservative to stop rust in storage but the chain needs oiling before the first use."

"best chain I' ve ever used. it is really light but bomb-proof. It does not wear out easily and if you avoid rust by drying it and use some oil it will last for a long time. It is expensive but if treated wright worth it. on my winterbike I use another chain, because salt and wet conditiones are the enemy of every chain. a nice tool is the power link, I also use with KMC or Shimano chains."

"I'm on my second hollow pin chain. Might be expensive but well worth it as they are easy to take off and keep clean. Cheaper than replacing cassettes and chain rings!"
