Good quality with a price to match
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"It has plenty of features for orienteering at night and day, most of which I haven't used yet. I like the smooth rounded moulding that doesn't cut into me when it's inside my shirt. It's the best compass I've ever owned, but it is the most expensive as well. You get what you pay for."

Good kit
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
"Enjoy walking / climbing mountains (living in North Wales), and needed a second compass. This one seems slightly better than the Silva, I already have, the plastic base is stronger, with orienteering symbols cut out. Scales are good, easy to read, and the compass module is illuminous and easy to turn, even when wearing gloves. It has an inclinometer which I don't use.
I was recently 2000+ feet up a mountain when poor visibilty, rain, and strong winds set in. Using the compass to locate, and calculate bearings / headings was easy.
