very useful
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality
"I don't know how I did without this. I bought 2, one for the roadie and one for the track bike. Viewing cadence helps to select the best gear for the best performance, particularly with the time trial type efforts. And how did I do without the garmin speed & HR data whilst riding in an indoor velodrome. Let me tell you seeing this was a big surprise."

More use than I thought.
Pros: Adjustable, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"Having been treated to a Garmin 705 for my road bike I was expecting only to have limited use on my MTB in the winter months. However, fitting a cadence sensor to the MTB was easy and now gives all the functionality I have on my road bike. Switching between the two is easy and means I can continue monitoring my progress while the weather is bad."

I wish I had bought this months ago.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I had bought the Garmin 500 a month before buuying my second Garmin GSC 10 wireless speed/cadence Sensor.
I have to admit that I purchased it because I have a second road bike that I use. The sensor is very accurate and easy to instal. I would recomend anyone to buy the Garmin Speed/cadence sensor. Great bit of kit. Well worth the money spent on it.

essential for riding
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"garmin products are expensive, its true, but they are the best. I never leave for a ride without my gps watch, heart rate and now cadence monitor.
Its fairly easy to install, and very light
If you're serious about your bike/triathlon, this product is for you!

Works well
Pros: Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Quite adjustable sender unit. On my Felt bike I have the wheel sensor arm down and on my BH I have the arm up because the stay is very close to the wheel. I have lost one crank arm magnet in the past so you have make sure you have zip tie quite tight. I have two bikes with these sender units, my Garmin 500 recognises both units after setup."

It works
Pros: Lightweight, easy to install
"very easy to get working, the dual colour LED means you can tell if you are picking up cadence or speed.
it isn't tiny and the speed sensor arm was had to be installed up rather than how the instructions say on my Soloist Carbon due to the narrow chain stays.
I've only had it for a month."

Pros: High Quality
"I bought this for my indoor training bike after my daughter ripped the cables out of my old wired one.
I am a massive fan of my garmin edge 500 so thought I would try the cadence sensor as I do a lot of cadence based trainer sessions.
A suggestion- if you have a garmin edge use your instructions from the disc rather than the instructions that come with the sensor as I found these much simpler to follow.
Once I had figured this out I set it up quite simply, got it paired in 10 seconds, set up my second bike option on my edge 500 and I was away.
The best part of setting up this system was a flashing light on the sensor every time it got a reading (red for crank cadence, green for speed sensor on spoke). This meant you could very easily tell when your sensors were in the right place. The lights stop after a couple of minutes so you don't have to worry about the battery being drained.
Very happy with this item and further impressed with how simple the garmin pairing system is."

Pros: Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"This is a lovely bit of kit. Fitting is very easy and it pairs well with my Garmin 500. In combination they provide an excellent system. I bought this sensor to put on my time trial bike and the only thing I would comment on is that it's a bit of a faff having two separate cadence sensors on two bikes as you have to re-pair the Garmin 500 each time you swap bikes."

"Got this to put on a second bike in conjunction with my Garmin Edge 500. It's a little bit fiddly, but once you line up the magnets with the sensors it works like a charm. Just don't tighten the zip ties too early until you are sure that the sensor is in the right spot."

Bike used with Garmin 910XT
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: access to change battery
"I bought two sensors, as the 910XT I'm using it with stores up to 5 bikes. The installation instructions were quite limited, but found a good guide on the Garmin site (FAQs), after that attaching to bike was easy and pairing with 910XT straightforward. The sensor is found amazingly quickly by the watch and automatically records cadence information and speed information. The speed arm part of the sensor works up or down, so there's no concern with a having a gap between rotating magnet and sensor arm which can be the case with other brands of combined sensor I've had before.
The sensor comes with not only magnets, but also really good quality ties and a spare just in case you have a problem.
The only design problem I can see is the battery which is user changeable (good) needs to be accessed from the 'wheel' facing side of the sensor, probably would have preferred the access to be on the outside facing edge as this would have improved access. For example, Cateye and Suunto sensors have the battery hatch on the outside."

I'm wondering if the GSC 10 is compatible with the forerunner 910, because I read that is not. And if it is, does it gives you speed and cadence, or only cadence???

Pros: Durable, High Quality, Adjustable
"I use a trainer a lot so it was great to be able to log it all through my Garmin 310xt. Not that tricky to fit, got everything lined up first time, tightened it all up and it was ready to go."

Working well
Pros: does exactly what it says
Cons: unsure how waterproof it is., it looks vulnerable on an mtb.
"This is working well on my new MTB. Excellent signal from it that my unit has no trouble in detecting. Garmin have made it very simple to set these extra's up.
Its not been through a winter with me yet though and time will tell if its really waterproof. It looks a little vulnerable too where its mounted but no issues yet. A good bit of kit.

A must for any turbo training cyclist
Pros: High Quality, Rugged
"I bought a turbo trainer before Christmas and even though training has gone well a friend suggested that I should get a cadence sensor to add some variety to the sessions.
As I already own a Garmin forerunner it made sense to get a Garmin compatible one. A bit of research later and I chose the GCS10.
The sensor was relatively easy to install, I was a bit unsure to start with which way round to put the sensor but after a bit of deduction and trial and error I found the best place. I did think a part was missing but it turns out the magnet was attached to another part!
I've used the sensor quite a few times, both on the turbo trainer and out on the road, and haven't had a single problem.
The watch picks up the cadence and records the distance without any issues, displaying information in whichever format you've chosen.
I would recommend this to anyone that already has a Garmin and is looking to use cadence in their training schedules.

Essential kit
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
"Bought this for my second bike so I could transfer my Edge 800 between the two. Quick delivery, easy to fit, it linked to the Garmin first time and has worked perfectly since. Just remember to tighten the zip-tIes with pliers so it doesn't wobble or drop off and off you go.
The instructions couldn't be much more simple, so much more information than a cycle computer.
Highly recommended."
