Urban Must Have
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Versatile
Cons: Not Enough Features
"Very good product, and very good price. I'm buying this one from Spain, and this is the cheapest on the net (around 30-40€ saving). Includes free delivery.
After searched for this Ortlieb bags I have founded that this Velocity Rucksack fits ok for my need:
- A lot of space on a completely empty bag: I've could fit my 17'' laptop (in his Ortlieb Notebook Case), a lunchbox with my meal, water bottle, headphones (yeah, those big ones), and some books and notebooks.
- The very usefull interior pocket helps a lot with pens, pencils and all the little stuff.
- Waterproof, no need to worry about your stuff under heavy rain.
- Very, very, very comfortable. Better with more stuff inside.
- Smart, just a black rucksack. Straps are a bit coarse although.
Maybe it lacks another pocket or compartment inside.
At last, if you think of getting an everyday pack to carry your stuff around the city, this one is a very good choice."

great 100% waterproof bag
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Rugged
"I have used Ortlieb panniers for many years but am wary of carrying a laptop in them when I cycle commute to work. I tried a variety of backpacks and courier bags but the former proved not to be waterproof in heavy rain and the latter gave me backache. The Ortlieb Velocity has solved the problem completely.
It's easy to open and get into and, as I bought the yellow one, is very visible when I'm commuting on dark winter nights. There isn't any padding or dividers inside the bag so I bought the Ortlieb notebook insert as well for my 15' laptop. It's very good quality, well padded and fits perfectly inside the Velocity backpack.
The only problem I found with the bag is that the hipbelt straps were very long and the retainers to secure the excess straps weren't very good. I solved this by removing these retainers and replacing them with a 2' section of old mountain bike inner tube which I threaded along the straps. These work very well (I have included a photo) and it only took ten minutes to do."

Great for Bike and Hike
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Versatile
Cons: Bulky
"I bouth this type of one container backpack as a first time and here is what I found.
I use this for commute on bike and train and has absolutely no problem until you are in the train. As you need to roll up the top of the bag, there are projection on both side which is wider than your shoulder hitting fellas next to you if you are in the busy train. They hit somebody when you walk on the busy street, too. Just small cautious makes no problem and you are happy with this super water proof backpack !
No pocket outside to hold your small items such as keys or pens, you need to open every time which is also a bit more awkward in the busy train compare to my previous conventional back pack from Northface.
I love the design and concept and the durability. Highly recommend !

Awesome Product for an Awesome Price
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile, waterproof
"I've been riding bikes for a while but I never had a good way of carrying my stuff. I looked online at suggestions and many suggested panniers so the weight is off your back, which makes sense. But I realized that something on my back would be more suitable as I would mostly use it for school.
I basically had two options, a messenger bag or a backpack. A lot of people like messenger bags because of the ability to get custom bags and put whatever you want in it, mostly different items. Just like a messenger, it would make sense if you put in different things a lot. I however, didn't like how it would put most of the stress on one shoulder, and the stuff I would be carrying is mostly constant. This is why I picked the backpack.
After days of research online to find the backpack for the right price, I came to the conclusion that the Ortlieb Velocity was the best choice. This was the only product that was under $100.
I've had my white Ortlieb Velocity from wiggle for about a month now and it has been nothing short of amazing, it seems to get better everyday. There are no signs of wear anywhere. I use it mainly on my 10.5 mile commute to work, 21 mile round trip. I also will use it in the fall for commuting to school.
For work I would carry my 15" laptop, binders, notebooks, and other things. This all fit in a nice stack in my Velocity unlike in a messenger bag, it wouldn't be as orderly. The backpack is also big enough for when I want to go shopping or just pickup Chinese for lunch. Today I went to this Chinese restaurant to get two lunch boxes, and at first I thought it wasn't going to fit, but after removing the removable pen organizer, it slid in perfectly. Right when that happened, I knew I bought the perfect bag.
This backpack is waterproof, no doubt. I have been through rainstorms while going to work and my laptop and papers have held up perfectly. I have even heard a story of a man who accidental fell into a pool and swam with it and the inside was still dry, amazing. There seems to be no damage whatsoever to the exterior from the rain at all.
A lot of people question me about the ventilation system. It is basically like a bunch of foam shapes on the back, which forms air channels. There really isn't anything to argue with it, it works. My back never seems to be sweaty at all once I arrive at my destination. So don't think it will keep your back warm in the winter. The straps are very comfortable, and the sternum strap and waist strap keep the backpack in place while riding. I even find more sweat on my stomach from the strap then from my back, again, amazing.
There are however some cons that I should mention. Once is that on the waist strap, there is a lot of excess strap material that flaps around while riding. They supply you with this thing that holds it still, but it doesn't work that well. Overtime I will probably just cut it to around what is needed. Second, I think some people might think there is a lack of compartments. It's all basically just one compartment to put whatever, there is no smaller one for your tools or things like that, I don't mind though. Third, this may be a future complaint, but I'm not sure how long the foam shapes for the back support will last. Hopefully over years to come it won't suddenly fall off left and right. Right now though, there are no signs. I do believe that it won't fall off over time.
In review, this is an awesome product. It allows laptops/books/notebooks/misc to be arranged neatly unlike a messenger bag, the straps are very comfortable and the ventilation system keeps your backs cool, and finally it is a durable bag that is truly waterproof. Best backpack for it's price. You won't find a product anywhere with the quality Ortlieb has done with this price. And of course, wiggle has everyone beat on that."

really waterproof
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable
"I needed a really waterproof Backbag to withstand the sometimes heavy rains we have here. After bad experiences with raincovers etc I bought the Ortlib and I'm really happy with it. Not too bulky but large enough for some after-work shopping. Not the prettiest one but does it's job.
I got the black one and added some extra reflectives on for better night-visibility.

Does the Business
"Although the smaller brother of the messenger bag, this bags kills it as a bright hi viz, kepp dry and capacious bag for commuting - lots of room for shirts and documents, with a killer internal bage for wallet and bike bits and pieces - is it body hugging with all the groovy soft bits to please a weekend warrior? No but this is funky and perfectly designed with the A to B commuting utilitarian in mind - so Ortleib!"

Life changing commute
Pros: Durable, Rugged
"I have used a pannier set up to commute to work for years, recently it detached itself from the bike and cost me a small packet from the objects that were damaged inside. After reading other wiggle reviews, I decided to give this waterproof rucksack style a chance due to the great xmas discounts on offer. I have found it to be very comfortable, extremely well manufactured, 100% waterproof and its on my back, so all bar me coming of the bike, my things are safe. Yellow was a could bold colour choice too. Highly recommend this product!!"

防水性
Pros: 良いバリュー, 丈夫さ, 軽量さ, 防水性
Cons:

Ortlieb Velocity Rucksack
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"This is a pretty good alternative to adding paniers.
I put in about 150 miles, with 2 days of kit (about 5Kg.s) & the Ortlieb Velocity Rucksack was pretty comfortable. Waist & chest straps take the pressure off your shoulders & back vents prevent it getting too sweaty back there.
Weather was dry, but it looks as waterproof as any other rolldown top drysack.
Material & straps are robust & it's pretty well put together.

better than my small backpack
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"used daily for shopping trips....holds my u-lock and large grocery items easily. with weight in the bag the rubber grips conform to your back and the strapping system is very adjustable so you can very firmly cinch the bag over your shoulders and around your waist making the load stable. the roll top closure is simple and the bag sits high on the back. there is also a handle detachable pouch inside for keys, wallet ,phone etc. it is a big improvement on my multipocket backpack which always sagged with any real weight in it."

Comfy Tough Waterproof
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Versatile
Cons: too much allowance for fatties
"Firstly this my be listed under courier bags but it is a rucksack.
A very comfortable, hard wearing and waterproof rucksack.
It doesn't have compartments which could be a con, but this does mean you can fit in some bulky objects when need be. I have an old washbag inside filled with puncture repair stuff and useful oddments in so I can fish it out easily, problem solved.
It has those chest straps that are often pointless except for serious loads but unlike some other bags I've had you can detach them without cutting anything should you ever want them back.
The waist strap has enough length available for the morbidly obese. It has some clips for keeping the excess out the way but I'd recommend cutting them down to a more manageable size, you may want the services of a sewing machine to make it all neat.

Good bag but be aware...
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable
Cons: Not Enough Features, blind spot
"Good quality bag and very comfortable. The only problem I have with it is the roll fold does partially obscure my bind spot making shoulder checking less immediate than with my previous messenger bag. I think on balance the stability of this bag over a single strap messenger bag outweighs the blind spot issue."

Best Purchase Ever
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
""Very good product, and very good price. I'm buying this one from Japan.
This is cheaper than a Japanese shop (Including aJpaanese net shop).
I bought Bach of Ortieb for the first time. I came to like usability of this back and a design.
If I have an opportunity to buy it once again, I want to buy it in this site.
