Pros: Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: allen bolts
"Firstly, while this rack looks bulky it is very light indeed. I wanted a rack to add some practicality and light-touring capability to my road/commuter bike (Giant Defy 3), so light weight was a priority as was the ability for panniers to be positioned further back (for foot clearance). It is obviously a quality product when you hold it in your hand, and the DX rail facility for Topeak rack bags is a plus (and doubles as a rear mudguard!).
I was worried that it would be difficult to fit, but the bendable attachments made navigating the rear brake assembly fairly easy on this particular bike.
I haven't put it through it's paces yet but see no reason why it shouldn't do the job.
One issue is that the 15mm allen bolts supplied didn't seem to accept the braze-ons on my bike, as they seemed slightly oversize. Instead of ruining the thread on my braze-ons I bought some 15mm (5mm width) hi-tensile screw-type bolts from the hardware store for $2 which worked perfectly.

clearance

Whats the clearance like between your feet and pannier bags? I need a pannier rack for my roadie and have heard that clearance is often an issue

Top Rack
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"I am a commuter and do about 20 miles a day, mostly in all weathers. This rack sits on the back of my Van Nicholas Yukon and is a very good fit indeed. There are couple if titanium brackets that have to be bent to fit from the upper (on the picture its the upper left brackets with the holes in) brackets to the frame. These are fully adjustable to ensure the rack can be adjusted to level.
The rack itself is very lightweight and is one of those bits of kit that takes you by surprise when you pick it up as it looks much heavier than it actually is, it is of very substantial construction, just very light weight.
I went for the silver Topeak rack as I already had a Topeak RX Trunkbag with panniers which just slides onto the rack and clicks into place. When this isn't big enough I use a pair of Ortleib front panniers which just slot onto the top rail, It really couldn't be easier. The silver colour is a good match for the Van Nicholas titanium frame.
I'm no expert, but as the ad says... It does exactly what it says on the tin... and very well.

Great Rack
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"I have fitted this rack to my Specialized Secteur, it fits very well and the only mod I have had to do was to one of the top supporting brackets. I had to twist it a little more to clear the brake pivot.
I have fitted 1mm thick nylon washers between the rack and the frame mounting points, purely my own choice to save the paint but not a must.

4.5? Good, but slightly irritating
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Versatile
"This seems to do a great job, although I only use it for side panniers it can clearly take a trunk bag as well as panniers if I ever needed to haul that much stuff.
Installation was easy, with clear instructions. Annoyingly I set it up slightly wrong before trying to mount it which required an adjustment but I can't blame the unit for that.
So far it seems like a pretty solid unit. My only irritation with it is that I went for the model with the spring, and sometimes the spring clatters a little if the road is uneven. Not a big deal, just a little irritating. Maybe I'll see if a bungee cord will end the rattles."

Easy to fit
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"Bought to fit on a GT Traffic 2.0 2011 and fits really easily and well. A good, straight forward piece of kit.
No extra cost for having the spring addition so choose that too - ideal for baguettes in France!
It takes our Altura Arran 36 panniers without a problem."

Good sturdy rack - exactly as described
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
"Well constructed & finished.
Fitting of upper bracket proved somewhat 'fiddly' and the bracket itself is (by its nature) a little ugly when seen against the otherwise elegant rack. Maybe a plastic clip-on cover, or a painted finish to match the rack, would minimise this.

An OK Rack but
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"Pros
Lightweight, looks okay, is strong and can take the Topeak quick track bags which means you can quickly remove the bag from the bike for the occasions when you park your bike in a public place.
Cons
My rack was delivered bent but by applying some pressure when fitting it assembled okay. The Topeak range of suitable bags is confusing and choosing the right bag is tricky. The bags are also fairly expensive. It didn't help that Wiggle's availability of Topeak bags was practically zero so I had to purchase elswhere and I ended up receiving a bag that doesn't have the quick track, making the design of the rack pointless.

Very light Pannier rack
Pros: Lightweight, easy to fit.
Cons: side rail is lower
"I use this rack with an Altura Night Vision20L pannier. It was very easy to fit the rack onto my Giant frame. There is a slight snag in that the extra side rails are lower causing the pannier to ride lower and rub on the wheel retainer nut. I now clip onto the top rail and bend the pannier rear pannier slightly to fit the lower clip. It fits very snugly but is still easy to remove."

Great Rack
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"What is there to say. This is a quality rack, well made and robust. Paint has not chipped or worn despite daily commuting use with Ortlieb clip on panniers. Really like the double bar at the top so can mount panniers and separate rack bag if needed. Easy to fit; secure fitting. A good buy."

Great Rack Fitted With Ease
Pros: High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"Decided to get a rack for my commuter bike as I was tired of getting a sweaty back from using a rucksack. I fiited it in minutes to my Raleigh Urban bike. Makes a great difference to the ride, can take much more kit with me now. It obviously is designed for the Topeak range of panniers but I am using a standard pannier at the moment quite easily."

Good product,
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Following a look at other similar products, went for this one which proved a good choice.
I used with loaded panniers on a trip up to scotland and across to Arran, I think 25 K is the Max load which I was not far off and had no problems.
Easy to fit, lightweight,"

Surperbly Over-engineered!
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit
Cons: the allen bolts
"This rack is seriously beefy, you can carry a full size adult on it with no problems (I persuaded the wife to give it a go ;) (I don't recommend trying this at home)
Is easy to fit, absolutely rock solid once fitted & looks good. I suspect it'll probably last longer than I will!
Minor complaint is the allen bolts that came with it - cheap, mild steel, the heads have rusted slightly on the very first outing. Also, because the tubes are so big, clearances were a little close to get it to screw flush onto the frame mounts & took a little paint off in proceess.
Overall tho, this a serious bit of kit & fantastic if you want to be carry a LOT of stuff.

"Can not fault it. The 'normal' rack fitted on a disk braked bike with no problems. (I did check how the brake was positioned before ordering.)"

A good product for the £
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Unattractive
"A good little product for the money paid. I thought the weight of the rack was good for the sturdiness of the product. It fits nicely on the bike although i had a bit of a nightmare trying to fix it on to my bike. Overall, a good piece of kit."

Nice rack!
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Good Fit
"Impressed with this rack. It fitted quite easily, seems very stable and doesn't rattle at all. i got this to replace my rack that attached directly to the saddle stem and it's a massive improvement.
I particularly like the fact that it has side bars to attach your panniers to, leaving the top of the rack free to fit other things to if needed. Also means the panniers sit a bit lower which i guess is a good thing for weight distribution.
Would definitely recommend."

Good solid product
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"I bought this at the same time as the Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX with Side Panniers. And has been fitted to a Specialized Rock Hopper. It all fits, goes on easily, the slide on and off fittment is excellent and secure. Not much more to say really it is a good product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a luggage solution, not sure it would be much good if not used in conjunction with a Topeak luggage bag."
