Recent purchase but very pleased. Not tried others
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"Fitting:
Was pretty simple once I figured out the diagrams. Fitted fine on my wife's hardtail mtb. Once fitted it's simple and quick to detach/re-attach and only the small clamp remains on the bike.
Seat design:
Seems great, everything you could want is there, and the build quality seems good. The recline feature is simple and easy to use and has a good degree of recline. The child safety straps work/fit well. Weight isn't bad considering the size of the seat and it's not very noticeable when riding.
Advice:
(1) Don't accidentally clip one strap to the other with the clip the wrong way up, it's easily done and very difficult to un-clip it again (needed a flat screwdriver inserting). Won't do that again!!! However when used correctly it works well, a little stiff but re-assuringly so given what little fingers can get up to. The three point clip is also well designed to be child-proof.
(2) Get a twin-leg bike stand so you can load/unload your bundle of joy safely, but never leave them sat in the seat when the bike is unattended. I got the Pletscher twin leg stand which works great (both legs fold to one side like a single-leg stand when not in use) but you need a hacksaw to cut the legs to size based on the marked measurements. Works great though, worth the cost. The bike should stand with both stand legs and both wheels touching when correctly fitted/cut. Best to gradually cut it until it's just right, no going back if it's too short!!"

Really Pleased
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
"My baby is only 12 months old but we have been looking forward to this moment since we knew we were expecting him. Having rediscovered the joys of cycling when our first child was four years old we vowed to introduce our new family addition to cycling as early as possible. We borrowed a seat last week but the baby just looked lost in it and I did not feel confident about his safety so researched child bike seats and felt that the Hamax Siesta came out tops all round. The fact that it reclines means that he is more snug in the seat plus the seat feels sturdy and capable of looking after my precious cargo. The Siesta ultimately won out over front mounted seats as we will get more years use out of it and therefore it is better value for money. I put him in it yesterday when it arrived (it was very simple to fit) and gave him a quick spin around the garden and he (and I) adored it. Most importantly I feel that he is secure and he obviously feels secure and comfortable. It is heavy but to me this means sturdy and therefore is not a bad thing. I am absolutely happy with this bike seat."

An instant hit!
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit
"I purchased this bike seat with some caution as we had previously used a bike seat on holiday and I had not been impressed. The Hamax is a very satisfying piece of kit for the money - good quality materials and good design / construction. It is VERY easy to install and the fixing bracket is no bother to me when riding without the child seat attached. If we had a second bike then I would definitely buy a spare fixing bracket rather than swap the bracket over.
Our son loves it and complains at the end of any journey - he wants to keep going. I'm not sure about the reclining feature, although reserve judgment for longer journies - it feels like a gimmick. I can't imagine that he will ever go to sleep in it - too much fun to be had taking in all the sights around. Luckily he's not old enough to know the words 'faster daddy'!
If you are looking for a good quality, well designed and safe bike seat then look no further."

Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I've found this seat to be excellent.
the way it fits to the bike is ideal, I remove the clamp when I want to use the bike for my more aggresive weekend riding, and its still easy to undo/refit as needed.
I really like the design for my baby, he's 10 months and loves going out with me. he sits comfortably and the recline is so good when he falls asleep (which is every ride!)
My bike frame is pretty small and this only just fits, but its great that you dont need panier brackets.
It feels like a well thought out product and I feel my baby boy is safe.

"really like the product no need for pannier racks. Bracket very solid with a number of adjustments. The system adds some suspension to the child. My boy of 2.5 at 14 kg's love it."

Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"I have been using the Hamax siesta for about a month now and have no complaints. It is simple to install & set up & feels solid with my daughter (2yr, 12kg) in the back. The mounting arms have some flex in them which provide some suspension when on rough surfaces and the reclining seat is great, my daughter regularly falls asleep. The safety harness is easy to use with one hand & near impossible for a kid to release. All up I think this is a safe, reliable, value for money product that I would recommend to my friends.
One thing to note is that you will need to order the taller mounting arms when fitting it to a small frame women's mountain bike to get the right height above the rear wheel."

Good decision
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit, no rack required
"I was throwing up between this seat and the Topeak and I'm happy with the decision after the Hamax arriving very quickly (3 days to Australia). It is so easy to remove with the press of a button and great not having to mount a rack (one of my bikes didn't have rack mounts). My son loves it and the seat quality is excellent."

Excellent design / engineering
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"This product was very well thought through.
Excellent design on the bracket that attaches to the bike allowed me to securely without pinching any cables. Easy to install as well.
Kid really likes the seat. Lots of settings to easily Taylor it.
I've since been seen inferior makes and I have quietly laughed to myself knowing I have the best child seat on the market.
I have a cool hard tail MTB and it doesn't take away from the bike when it's on or if it's removed
Happy days"

Fun and safe
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile
"I already had the Hamax seat which fitted onto a pannier (also brilliant), but with a second child needed another seat.
The frame attachment takes five minutes to fit, but once on is very secure. Four bolts is all it takes, and they included a key to tighten them.
My daughter loves the seat, and when she gets tired and falls asleep I can tilt it back. The foot straps and very secure harness ensure she is as safe as she can possibly be on a bike. The extra room for the helmet means she can lie back comfortably.
My bike is a hard tail and the suspension effect from the seat on the attaching bars is enough to absorb most bumps.
Definitely recommend this seat.

Excellent and easy to use
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"Just bought the child seat for our 16 month old son so that we could do family cycle rides whilst on holiday. The seat was easy to fit onto my bike and is easy to remove when not required. The belts also fasten easily and our son is very secure when in the seat.
In addition, the service from Wiggle was excellent with the package arriving in two days after order.

Hamax Siesta - Dreams come true
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
"Very good, easy to mount and cosy childseat! And very stylish as well. Our son's almost 2 years old, and that was our dream to cycle together with him, so after some investigation we've chosen Hamax Siesta - and it proved a right choice! The kid is sitting very comfortable, and very safe, too - as there're 2 fastex locks on the safety belts - no way that the kid gets unfastened by himself - so smart design, I would say. The only thing is that the seat is a little heavy for me, so my husband takes it on and off - all the rest just perfect, and we're now a happy "cycling family""

Top Seat
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I bought this bike seat after some careful consideration & research. It was definately the correct choice. Really easy to fit and to clip on / clip off. My 1 year old loves it and seems very comfy in it. It gets a bit bouncy when it's right back but there doesn't really seem to be any need to have the seat as far back as it will go. It really doesn't effect the riding of the bike as much as I thought it would do when carrying.
All in all it's a cracking bike seat

Hamax Siesta child seat
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"Easy to install, Easy to use. Would recommend to get a spare mounting block to switch between bikes. We didn't need any of the spare brackets as fit fine on a 20" Merlin MTB, although relatively close to the max distance between the seat centre and the rear axle. Baby sits happily in it."

Daughter Loved It
Pros: Attractive, High Quality
"In short, my daughter loves this seat. It seems very secure and comfortable for her.
Installation was quite easy, although the cables running down the seat tube does make fine tuning the position of the bracket a little tricky. I use the same bike for commuting, and the design makes removing and reinstalling the seat a breeze.

Excellent Child Seat
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"Bought this product based on the reviews and the fact that it has a quick release system. Really satisfied with it now that me and my 18 month old son have recently tested it, definite thumbs up from both of us! As usual with Wiggle the item was delivered to Ireland promptly. Fitting is simple, just 4 alan key bolts attach to the down tube, make sure you fit it as high up the downtube as you can so that the seat itself has plenty of clearance from the rear wheel as the seat is designed to bounce a bit. The seat itself is very sturdy and it feels and looks a high quality product. The best bit is the quick release mechanism which means you can remove the whole seat with the push of a button, no faffing around removing bolts etc. The bracket that stays permanently attached is unobtrusive and I found even riding with baggy jeans that it didn't interfere in anyway, its hardly noticeable on the bike as its quiet compact. I fitted this seat to a Cube LTD Comp 11 without any problems."

Hamax Siesta
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable
"Purchased this bike seat for our 13mth old youngest daughter - primarily due to its ability to recline and remove/swap from bike to bike. We also wanted to hopefully keep our bike rack with panniers in order to carry the relavent toddler necesseities. The Siesta seat has been received very well by my daughter - she now sleeps with her head resting back and the natural bounce of the rack provides a dampening effect to any bumps or rough road. That said - the rack is solidly mounted - but quick to remove. (push the latch and slide!). We were able to keep the rack on our tandem (Hase Pino) as it was narrow enough to allow the Siesta seat to sit over the top of it. But the Blackburn standard rack on my wife's Specialised MTB was too wide. Overall a great seat that has all the features of the standard baby seat but provides added benefits of reclining and quick removal. We're pretty happy."
