Not bad as a back up food supply
Cons: taste, needs water to wash down
"I found these ok. Good for before and after a session to reload on carbo’s. I think the banana flavour tastes a little processed. My friend thought they were delicious though. Not so good for trail running as you will need a drink before and after to get it down. I found them a good value training food in conjunction with gels."

Just the job
"Purchased these (Cappucino flavoured) bars to carry a supply on a long and challenging Mille Miglia 1001 mile ride in Italy, so I could enjoy a caffeine lift and some carbs without having to stop too often for real coffee and cakes.. I found the bars ideal for that. They were tasty and easy to like, though its best to wash them down with some water when the weather is hot. The chocolate coating on one side remained firm and not sticky, whatever the temperature I was riding in. It was best to open a few in advance of needing them , so I didnt have to fiddle with the wrapper too much whilst riding. Energy bars have improved a lot in a relatively short time, as I dont remember them being this good a few years ago!"

good value
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"I think it´s one of the bes bars in the market, good size and good flavour.
I remeber the old power bars which you had to drink two bottles with them to be able to swallow

Quality product
Pros: Great Value
Cons: fiddly to open on the move
"I've found these bars really good, tend to have one before a ride then top up when I'm out in the hills. Price is good, the only minor downside is that they are a bit awkward to open on the move."

Banana / Yoghurt variety
Pros: High Quality
"Have been using Maxim bars for a number of years and have never had stomach probs.
The best thing about these is the fact that the yoghurt coating doesn't melt, handy for those (rare) sunny days.
Pretty easy to digest though as jayzee mentions, the wrapper is a bit of a faff. If I'm using these for a race, I precut the ends for rapid entry."

great energy bars
"These are grrrreat.
Tasty, easy to eat while cycling high carb content. Only downside is trying to undo the wrapper whilst on the move. Best to open before you start cycling.Yoghurt flavour is pretty good. Quite pricey but I feel worth it.

High energy
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight, good taste
"The Maxim bars I find are easy to digest and taste great. No doubt about about the energy content either. Haven't had any stomach problems, even after a 5 - 6 hr training bout."
