No complaints at all
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged
Cons: hard to fit
"I'm loathe to write this review since it's so positive I'd be tempting fate. If I praise puncture resistance I'm liable to get a ghastly puncture tomorrow but here goes.
I've now done somewhere in the region of 2000 miles on them over every kind of terrain in every kind of weather so feel I am in a position to give them a full review. I would say they were useless in four inches of snow but they weren't really designed for that and were no worse than my MTB tyres.
They were a nightmare to fit initially and I managed to destroy a tube in the process. That is really the only negative I can say - I did remove them at one point to put knobblies back on and they went on a lot better second time around. Although they're twice as heavy as the (no puncture protection, knobbly CX) tyres they replaced they're still quicker due to less rolling resistance. Because of my high mileage (130 miles per week roughly) weight and looks are way down the pecking order in favour of cheapness and durability.
Although it is of course largely down to my superb skills and fitness I have no problem hitting 25/26mph away from the lights in a few seconds and no one has come close to scalping me on the roads (in your face people on fancy race bikes with skinny tyres wearing leggings whilst I'm manning it up in shorts at minus three) I can't believe there's any real disadvantage weight-wise. I tend to run them at a lowish pressure due to the numerous bumpy parts of my journey too and they're still pretty quick.
I've ridden over everything on my 50/50 road and canal path route- gravel, rocks, glass, dead rats, live pigeons (not good at all) horrible east London roads full of potholes and the tyres show no sign of wear and I've yet to have a puncture. I've had one slip on a wet surface (at about 1mph) but I'll put that down to lack of care on my part (stupid enough to let someone else through a gate first, the git didn't even look round when I hit the deck three seconds after waving him past).
I've hit tight corners at 25mph trying to get away from traffic and had a brown padded undershorts moment but the tyres have gripped well and not let me down (literally). Certainly no problems in the rain either which is good since I occasionally have to go through about 10 inches of water when the canal overflows.
I've been let down by a lot of cycling products (looking at you gloves and overshoes) but these tyres are cheap and durable which is all you can ask for - perfect for commuting as they look like they'll last a good while yet.
If you're after a tyre that can handle everything from potholes to vermin then these are the ones to get - 10/10 for me."

Quality at a bargain price
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
"Bought these tyres for my wife's commute to work after her old ones wore out! A little hard to fit at first. The trick is to put on one side then lever the other side into place with some sturdy tyre levers. Tried the bike out and they work fine. Great rolling tyres that are capable of 5 bar max. pressure. Would highly recommend as budget road tyres. Why pay more for the daily commute?"

Brill Winter Tyre
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged
"I bought these to do my first ever Audax last weekend, as my lightweight summer slicks were too prone to puncturing. After 100k around flint and debris strewn lanes with no punctures I am really pleased with my choice. Without a doubt, they do feel a bit heavier and slower than my previous tyres (although this may be all in the mind as my average speeds don’t show much difference), but the upside is a huge increase in comfort. Grip seems good too, as there were no problems on fast, wet descents and I always felt in control under heavy braking. Add the value for money that these tyres represent to the puncture resistance and increased comfort and they make an excellent choice for a winter tyre."

Tough to fit
Pros: Great Value, Rugged
Cons: very tight fit
"Great value for money, but these are very tough to fit. I tore one inner tube and ended up taking them to my LBS and got them to put them on instead."

Great value for money
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged
Cons: Bulky
"I bought this tyre recently for my commuter fixie. Even though it is not the best looking tyre, the extra comfort coming from the deeper profile and the extra grip in wet is well worth it. So far no problems with punctures..."

Good value touring tyre
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, ribbed sidewall for dynamo
"After doing a lot of research for road touring tyres I settled on the Vittoria Randonneur over the more popular, and more pricey, Continental Contact and Swchable Marathon tyres in their various forms.
Overall a good tyre: reasonable rolling resistance and weight; offering decent grip in the wet, I experienced no sliding even on wet off-road tracks, additionally; it has a ribbed sidewall (is the correct terminology?) which was perfect for my dynamo hooked up to charge my phone.
I've only done a few hundred kilometres so I can't say much about durability or puncture protection."

Split sidewall
"Had these on my only bike for about 3 years. Bought a pair but initally replaced only the back tyre. Good job I did, as on anything other than bone dry tarmac my Randonneur was all over the place. I think of combination of fresh unscrubbed rubber and the rubber moulding process leaving a ridge down the centreline of the tyre. Once srubbed off after 100+ miles it was safe to swap it to the front wheel and fit my second Randonneur at the rear. Ride very carefully if using a brand new Randonneur on your front wheel.
After three years of at least weekly use in town and on towpaths, I can't recall getting any punctures, so a good performance there.
However my back tyre has now got a 6 inch long split in the sidewall and the inner tube is starting to bulge at this weak point. Smaller cracks and splits are also visible all over the sidewalls of both tyres. Maybe this is to be expected for 3 yr old tyres, but the Bontrager rubber these replaced wasn't affected this badly.
Changing the Randonneurs for some Continentals - will report back in another 3 years!..."

Plenty of tread but cracked side walls
Pros: Good Fit
Cons: Low Quality, Wears Out Easily, cracked side walls
"I bought this tyre to use on my cycle/camping trip around England. It was for the rear wheel and would take some weight from my rack and panniers, although to be fair much of the weight would be taken by my two wheeled trailer. 1500 miles later there is still plenty of tread on the tyre BUT the side walls are cracking in several places, it needs replacing immediately. I have never had side walls crack on a tyre in sut a short space of time and withonly 1500 miles of use, albeit heavy use. Poor product. I will not be purchasing Vittoria Randonneur City tyres again."

Why look elsewhere?
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Good Fit
"For some reason I have had trouble getting the usual candidates to fit on my Boardman Hybrid so plumed for these as they were advertised with good protection. Where as the tyres which came fitted with the bike were prone to many punctures.
I can tell you from experience that I am now on my 2nd pair and have not had one puncture. That’s nearly three years / 5000 miles puncture free riding. I know there are more expensive tyres out there but I can only speak from experience and I will never look elsewhere as they have never let me down."

Very grippy lots of life
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"Run these on my city fixed gear. One puncture in a year and a lot of life out of it considering how hard I am on tyres. Just bought another having worn through to the red puncture protection layer.
Very grippy in the dry, I don't push as hard in the wet but never found them lacking.
Can be run up to 100psi (28's) but may want it a bit softer for comfort."

Very good tire
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Good Fit
"Very good tire with excellent grip. Just what I needed for my touring bike. Tires were fitted to a mavic A319 rim with ease and are great fit. I have done about 1K kilometars with them and they don't show any wear at all.
Bought 622x28 and they are fast and stil confortable enough for touring.

fixed
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable
"Really good riding tyres. got it on my fixed, and its good to skid. changed from gator skins as they were doing some damage to my knees. These are a little less sticky/grippy but feels nicer. not as good performance in rain as gators but i think they weigh up.
recommended.

Excellent value tyre
Pros: Durable, Great Value
"I bought one of these a while ago for my rear wheel. After 2500 miles with no issues at all, the choice for a new front tyre was a no-brainer!
In fact, I've compared my old tyre to the new one and there's really not a great deal of wear on it given the mileage."
