Tubus Nova Lowrider Front Rack

NOVA the hand-made,stainless steel ,esthetical lowrider from TUBUS. The design is identical to the TUBUS ERGO and is the perfect match for our stainless steel rear cariers COSMO and LUNA. The brushed finish strengthens the material and gives the NOVA its exclusive looks.

Better than the Tara by far
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I switched from a Tubus Tara to the Nova, and couldn't be happier. Here's why:
o Stainless steel - no rust worries. With the cromo Tara, pannier contact points will always result in the coating being rubbed away eventually.
o Flat bottom - the Tara has a curved bottom, which makes bungee hooks want to slide off. I was able to mount my Arkel panniers with their rotating cam-lock system on the Nova, since I could put one hook behind the fork. Couldn't do that on the Tara, because in that position the hook would just slide right off the curved bottom rail.
o The ovalized diagonal strut on the Nova fits the bottom hook on the Ortlieb panniers much better than the big oversized tubing on the Tara.
o The Nova seems to have more flexible mount options - two possible holes to use for attaching the top rail, as opposed to just one on the Tara. So I was able to get the Nova dead level on my touring bike, not so much with the Tara.
o Possibly due to the more flexible mounting, I was also able to get the Nova in a position that didn't interfere with the quick release skewer on my Co-Motion Americano. With the Tara, the only way to mount it meant that in order to remove the front wheel, you first had to remove the quick release skewer. Ugh. No more!
I am just loving the look and functionality of the Nova. It's true that the Tara is rated for a slightly higher weight capacity, but I don't think the difference will matter in real life since the top limit on both is probably much more than you want to carry on the front anyway.
The Nova is my new favorite rack! It's a bit more expensive than the Tara, but Wiggle gives you a great price so there's not much reason then not to just go for the stainless steel one. Incidentally, a great companion to the Nova on the rear is the Cosmo - better than the Cargo (larger platform, low rail mount option, stainless etc)."

Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
"The Tubus Racks are quite well known, I'm not sure what I can add to that except as one more voice confirming what everyone who owns one knows. They are fine racks, well-made, lightweight and easy to install if your frame has the braze ons."

Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"The Nova might not be as adjustable or versatile as other front racks, and it might be overkill given the necessarily limited cargo carrying capacity of a front fork. The stainless steel is enduringly beautiful, though, and I appreciate that Tubus thought to add an additional mounting point (which I used to mount the fender)."

almost perfect
Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: gets in the way of quick-release
"This rack is sturdy and lovely and works very well, but it doesnt' clear my quick-release skewer. As long as I don't have to remove the front tire, it's wonderful. If i have to change a flat, it's a big pain. Bummer, it's so close."
