Train smarter not harder.. Yeah Yeah
Pros: High Quality, it is a book
Cons: doesn't make winter pools any warmer.
"Actually this books demystifies a lot of the science of training. Could apply the principles here to footy or any other sport. Great read.
One other great thing. It doesn't try to tell this is the new whiz bang theory that will get you onto the podium. Balance science and theory with the fact that alot of the science does quite apply equally to everyone, good/bad genetics, predisposition to success, or just plain weird means there are many roads to success. This highlights why some work and what are signs to watch for.
Now if I could stop reading enough to start swimming!!!"

Great but only as an introductory book
"When I purchased this book I thought it would be a complete program for competitive athletes or it will supply you with all the necessary “tools” needed to accomplish your task. Definitely I was wrong but it was my fault. As for the theoretical – psychological – philosophical parts it gives you an excellent framework to be based on. By reading the book you can say that you have a good opinion about what triathlon is but if you are on the field for some years, most of the chapters of the book are already well known. It is a great introductory book for people who want to start triathlon as comprehensive as it gets. As an introductory book i give it 5 stars but from a book with the title "bible I expect it to reach all areas and concepts till z and not just the basic a to ...e or f."

Everything you need to know!
Pros: comprehensive, detailed
Cons: possibly a bit too complicated for some, could be structured better for quick reference
"This is a great book which brings some fairly complex training principles together in a simple, triathlon-specific fashion. Personally I can't fault the content, though it did take me a while to get used to its layout (Joe Friel isn't the world's most 'structured' writer) and many of the concepts may be a bit complex for someone new to exercise science. Overall it's a great book though and worthy of its excellent reputation."
