Fantastic Product
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"WOW ! This is bright !
With the dark nights now here I thought I would upgrade my current rear light.Pop in two AAA batteries(supplied)and turn on.On/Off button is easily used even with gloves on.
Get ready for some serious light.
Has flash mode and on steady.Tried it first in my garage with the lights off,the whole place lit up,nearly as good as a white front light !
Then I compared it with my current rear light, what a difference.
It is small and light with a simple bracket to attach to your seat post or the light clip can be used to attach to your clothes or back pack.
This rear light really gives you the confidence out on the roads that other road users can see you easily.

Be seen from miles away!
Pros: Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile, mainstream batteries, long battery life
"This probably the best rear light I have bought, when its flashing it can be seen from over a km away - really it can, we tested it! It can also be seen very well from the sides, giving it a clear line of out towards the 180 degrees behind me.
Its lightwieght, yet very solidly put together. The case all clips together to form a good watertight seal - which includes the button which resides inside the unit under a slightly flexible part of the casing. It also means that accidentally switching it on my bag rarely happens.
The batteries needed are not exotic ones, so no problems picking them up in supermarkets or the usual mainstream shops. The battery life on paper seems very good too, although I haven't had it long enough to comment on my own experience here. In total its has run on flash mode for about 6 hours and is still going strong.
The light fits neatly on the back of my saddlebag using the belt clip. If I needed it to, I could also clip it to my belt or clothing if I didn't have the saddlebag. It also comes with a pretty heavyduty mount too, if you needed to mount it on the bike frame.
In summary, I couldn't fault its perfection!!! And all for £8!!!!"

Awesome light
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"Its all very well reading that this is a bright light, its not until you get one you realise quite how bright it really is. I was so impressed with the visibility this light gave that i bought another one straight away and then proceeded to email fellow cyclists to tell them how impressive the light is. The light has two modes, flashing and constant. Now that i have both on my bike, one constant and one flashing i feel a lot safer on my 13 mile journey to work along busy country roads."

smart choice
"I didn't believe that a 0.5 watt LED could be so bright, but it is. I've got it mounted on the seatpost above a Cateye LD600, which is pretty bright with fresh batteries. But the Smart outshines it by a considerable margin."

Arrrggghhhh my eyes!
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Great Value
"This is bright - it even shows up well in daylight. On night runs my mate asks me to turn it off, so I have no doubt that that when I use it commuting in traffic I am seen clearly.
It has the legal stationary mode as well as the flashing mode, side ways visibility is not bad. Turning on and off is easy with full gloves as you just squeeze the whole light top to bottom. It comes with seatstay and seatpost clamps - these could be better designed.
And yes make sure you don't look directly at it as you turn it on, it does hurt.
To add to this when I bought it it was an incredible £8"

One to be seen with
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Lightweight
Cons: not a 'designer' item
"It's the right time of year to be lit up like a Christmas tree.
I was so impressed by this light that after getting the first one I bought another as it was so affordable. They now sit double stacked on my seat post. I have one on blink mode and one on static light mode - I want to be noticed! And for the price the quality is pretty good, I think.
This is definitely a light to be seen with, literally"

Super Bright Rear
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value
"This light is super bright. I use it on the flashing mode along side a rearlight on constant and it is very visible and attention grabbing.
It is also well lit from the sides and the whole unit glows red.
Battery life seems fine.
It has it flaws, the casing isn't the strongest but is fine and should wear well. The clamp is also a screw fitting so you need a screwdriver to fit it but once it's in place why do you really need to remove the clamp.
The light also has a clip built in which is good for attaching the light to clothing or a bag.
I bought my lady one as a cheap set and bought one for myself as it really is good.
Rated bit of kit."

How Bright!!!
Pros: Adjustable, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight, bright bright bright
"I wasn’t sure about this light it looked to cheap to be any good! But how wrong I was, Very impressed easy to fit easy to use and possible the brightest rear light I have ever seen! I ride to work with 2 other people and when I first fitted they refused to ride behind me as it was too bright. Would defiantly recommend to anyone who wants a super bright rear light!"

Best Anti-Wheelsucker Device Ever
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, bright bright bright, powerful, gets you noticed
"Fasten one of these babies to the back of your seatpin and you'll never be troubled by wheelsuckers again. When it's in flashing mode, it's so bright and irritating that nobody will want to ride behind you. This of course also means that it's pretty good at getting cars to notice you as well - though i've actually had people complain at the traffic lights that my lights were "a bit over the top" - RESULT!"

Bright as!
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"I LOVE this light for a few reasons
: it is so visible!
:with bracket supplied I have mounted it on seat stay tube up high, which makes light easy to access and see from riding position as opposed to being behind carrier etc where you cannot tell if it's on/off or gone flat! ( I once lost a light completely off my rear rack without knowing it!)
:I love the easy on/off switch at bottom of light!

Smart Blindingly Bright Rear Light
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight
"The time had come to get some brighter back lights for my 20k trip each way to and from work now that the nights are drawing in. I was running two led back lights of an older generation and decided to replace with the new 1/2 watt smart rear light.
They came with the standard fittings for seatpin or seatstays with a couple of rubber shims to fit just about any frame configuration. Having said that my new ones fitted straight into the old fittings anyway!
Batteries were included in the product too, so it was out of the box and onto the bike.
I was really impressed with the brightness of the lights. They are considerably brighter than the older generation, and I think have much better side visibility too. I am currently using two on my bike, one constant and one blinking, and wouldn't think anyone would need more than this in terms of visibility.
They've been in use about 4 days a week for a couple of weeks now and have survived cold, rain and the bumps of the local roads, including one short stretch of bridlepath I traverse daily without any problems.
I cant find anything to complain about in the product, it is a bargain at the price. See the attached clip for a demo.!!
Happy night cycling!!"

Stonking good light
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"Having gone through a few LED lights over the years, I've been pretty unimpressed. However with the clocks going back I decided to get a new light and following lots of recommendations on BikeRadar I opted for this SMART one. What a result. This is a really good quality, ultrabright light that will be perfectly at home on or off road. So good, I bought one for my wife's bike."

So bright for such a small light!

Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: very sensitive on/off button, slightly flimsy build
"I bought this light to replace one that came with my first ever front/rear set. Every time I rode over bumps the fixing would come loose and the light would end up facing the back of my legs. Not great!
When my new Smart 1/2 Watt light arrived I was surprised at how small it was. It was simple enough taking the cover off and inserting the batteries - and when I switched it on - the previous reviewers aren't exaggerating when they say how bright this little light is! I think I temporarily blinded myself...
The fixing clamps are great quality - it comes with two different sized brackets and rubber padding - and the good thing is that it's fixed with a screw and bolt, so it won't be coming loose any time soon and you can fix it at any angle you like. The light clips into the bracket and can be taken out and attached onto your backpack, etc. To switch it on there's a very pressure sensitive button at the bottom which you use to set between constant, flashing or off. The light itself does feel a little bit flimsy so I'll be careful not to drop it and the casing itself isn't all that strong.
As already mentioned, the light output is phenomenal and it's bright from the sides too (check out the picture). You'll definately be seen with this baby switched on! For the price, I cannot fault it whatsoever."

Brilliant!
Pros: Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile, gets you noticed
"This is the UK version of Planet Bike's legendary Superflash tail light, sold in the States to rave reviews. I had a few of the US lights shipped over some time ago, and while the UK flash pattern is a little less eye catching, the light is just as bright and can also be set to constant (though I never use it like that). This said, although this vesrion of the light is marked UK complaint, with our UK lighting laws in a bit of a muddle, to be sure of being road legal I always use this light with a Cateye BS rear light (on constant - 'cos that's supposed to help drivers judge your speed better than a flasher). This blinkie however is what gets me noticed.
I've never had one of these fail in the rain - though having read another review here think I'll smear some silicon grease around the rubber seal, as that looks the only place water could come in and the rubber does look a bit plasticky. But same goes for most lights.
The only word of caution I have is that the light works off 3 LEDs, and the brightest is hugely bright but highly directional so to get the best noticability from the light I angle it slightly upwards and to the offside. You don't want to dazzle people behind, but on the other hand this light won't be effective if it's angled towards the near sideand this may make you look a little bit wider so less likely to get nudged off by an overtaking motorist. I'd say the directionality of the light probably means it's not a good idea to use it on its own - but as part of a rear light combo.
The light comes with 2 fitments so you can attach it to most parts of a frame or bike rack, inc. the seat post. It attches by a clip moulded onto the case, which can double as a belt clip or to tag it to a backpack. Superb product.

Very bright, well built and cheap!
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"For just £10.99 this light is a very good deal. It is incredibly bright. Infact, I wouldn't want anything brighter than this.
It feels well built and the mounting bracket is also solid and stable. It comes with batteries too.

Blindingl Good
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Lightweight
Cons: rear light switch is sensitive and can turn itself
"Bit of a supprise when i first came across this light, it was so bright i had to ask the lad in front to turn it off to avoid being blinded.
Myself and another mate ordered one each the very next day, we also bought the front/rear set as well

Plenty bright enough
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"These little lights are superb. Really good example of how regular bike lights have come on since the days of weighty dim D-cell battery lights. This is one of the brightest rear lights I've used. I use it in conjunction with a much more expensive cateye 'hand grenade' and the Smart's brightness is noticibly better. The clamp and clip appear to be good. Time will tell how durable the who unit is."

Fantastic
Pros: very very bright, good fit on bracket
Cons: beware the switch
"Read the reviews and thought I'd give it a go, well at the price I couldn't really go wrong. Wow! It's blindingly bright (don't ook at it when it's on), even in the light. I use it on constant mode - use it with another flasher for real noticeability. I really do feel confident with this behind me. Locates in the bracket with a good solid click. Only bad thing is the switch which is inside the lens. You have to ensure that you fit the lens to the body correctly otherwise the light will switch itself off with the vibration from road bumps. Happened to me a couple of times so I took the lens off and refitted it and is now ok."
