Hope Pro3 Mono Road Rear Hub

The new Pro3 hub replaces the Mono hubs. With the proven range of Pro2s having gone from strength to strength since they were launched, the Pro3 is the development of that hub, and is specifically aimed at road and non disc users.

Lightweight good quality hub
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: sprockets dig into freehub body
"I bought these as a less expensive alternative to the Dura Ace rear hub, which are my gold standard reference point. They weigh almost exactly the same as the 7900 Dura Ace hub, which is very impressive. They have built up into a very nice wheel (Mavic Open Pro, 32 double butted 3-cross). The only downside i have noticed is that the cassette sprockets have started digging into the aluminium bodied cassette body. I had the same problem with DT Swiss 240's rear hub. Notably, this doesn't happen with Dura Ace rear hub, which use a titanium cassette body (now you know why they're more expensive). This makes no difference to the shifting performance, but it means that eventually I will need to replace the freehub body, although I expect that will be quite a few years from now. That's the only thing stopping me giving these beautful hubs 5 stars."

ラチェット音がデカイです。
Pros:

Dependable
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"I built this into an Open Pro last year
I used it for Paris Brest Paris and all my qualifiers
A few weeks ago I took the freehub off and the grease around the pawls was a black but all the bearings were still plush after thousands of often wet km
On the minus side the aluminium body of the freehub is prone to "chewing" marks from the cassette"

The Sound Takes Getting Used To
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
"Pros:
The hub is great quality and you get some serious bang for your buck. The clicking sound will take a few days to get used to, but I found it quite pleasant after a few days.
Also, the sound is great for letting fellow cyclists and pedestrians know that you're in the area.
Cons:
None."

Hope Pro3 Hub
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
"LBS recommended this hub to me, got it cheaper on Wiggle. Only thing I would say is that it has a (very) loud freewheel click so you won’t be able to sneak past anybody"

Smooth hub with loud freewheel
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, and british!
"I was keen to buy Hope hubs for my road bike having found them very reliable on my MTB. Paired with the Pro3 Mono Front, both in blue. Very high bling factor, smooth and easy rolling, and not commonly seen. I love'em! The best bit of the loudish freewheel is you can draw attention to the fact that you're behind someone on the cycle path without needing to shout or ring an annoying bell. People genuinely pleased to let you pass!
When they get a bit older, the Swiss sealed bearings used by Hope are cheaply available and new freehubs can be got as well. 700 miles on these so far. Who needs Chris King stuff?

Awesome road hub
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
"This is now my second example of these hubs and thus, the second wheelset featuring them.
There are no negatives about the Pro 3 hub. They are durable, light and look great.
I recommend them for anyone who appreciates real quality and is happy to pay the appropriate price for it. They will compliment any bike and will give the rider many km of trouble free riding in the foulest of weather.

Best. Hubs. Ever.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile, supercalifragilisticexpealidocious to the max!
Cons: there are no cons with hope!
"I bought the Hope Pro II for a set of 29er wheels and loved them so much I thought I would get these for my road bike. Just got them built and ridden for the first time last night. The drag seals are kind of tight but a few more rides and they'll be broken in nicely.
I've ridden pre built wheels from $200-$900 and these are by far the smoothest rolling hubs I've ridden yet.
They build up easy and are very easy to maintain. Also, I did not use a rear rim with an offset spoke bed and because of the way the hub was designed, I only had to purchase one length of spoke for the rear wheel."

Smooth Hub, faulty freewheel.
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: freewheel issues.
"Road these fine hubs no more than 1500 miles when with a pronounced "click" the freehub stopped engaging. Left me stranded. When I got back to the LBS they told me some internal spring had broken preventing pawl engagement. It was a 30 USD fix. Despite this event I still like these smooth running hubs than ride smoother with each mile. I just hope this event was a one in a million. It did shake my faith in these hubs. Will continue to ride them though."

A good choice
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, loud (typical hope freehub), easy to service
Cons: # of points of engagement
"I picked up my first Cx bike last year and killed the Tiagra freehub in 700 km, so I wanted something that would take a beating and keep going. I have run the Pro II hubs on my mountain bike for quite a while and thought I would try these in a road/Cx setting.
I'm not a light rider (100kg) and I can lay down a lot of power. These hubs use the same freehub system as the Pro II's that have served me for ~3000 km without a hiccup yet. The Pro III's look great, are quite strong and have been doing well on my Cx / commute / long distance bike so far this season.
They seems to spin up quite well and, even though mine aren't well broken in yet, they seem to roll out well too. They are a loud hub (typical Hope sound) so they may not be the best hubs for a stealth bike, but for everything else they seem to do well. Great value for the money and good quality.
Only niggle I have is that, like the Pro II hubs, they could use a few more points of engagement...with that, they'd be a hands-down choice against the cost of Chris King or Hadley hubs."

Solid Hubs
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality
"After getting through two sets of Ultegra Wheels I purchased the Hopes and had them hand built with Mavic Open Pro rims and I must say they have been faultless for the first 4000K. I'll maybe update the review after the winter!
They look good but are very noisy when freewheeling!
They are not lightweight but are certainly competitive - my wheels weigh about the same as the Ultegra's that they replaced."
