Great for running
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Lightweight
"I bought this as a running pack and it is everything I hoped for. Comfortable and light and would hold more than I would ever want to run with. Just make sure you have the outlet from the bladder facing away from your back or it starts to rub."

Octane 8
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"I previously used a much smaller Magic, and still do for just riding the trail but the Octane is much more versatile. Compression/expansion system means that you can ride to the shops and then open it up to carry back all the stuff you didn't go for in the first place. It's even big enough for an overnight bag, flight bag or work pack, carrying waterproofs, lunch and odds and ends. Waist pockets useful too.I wish I'd bought this before the Magic and saved some money, the most versatile pack I own and in daily use for one job or another."

So long
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"has my husband Tom wanted a Camelbak he thought he would be dead before he got one but for his 46th birthday I obliged and wiggle duly delivered promptly the tangerine octane 8 to keep him hydrated on his 2.5 mile excursions into the Rutland hills. Apparently it is awesome and he may make 3 miles before christmas!!
a great bit of kit loads of space and highly recommended to fusty old mountain bikers and anyone else who likes to be seen and cool!"

Surprisingly Comfortable
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"It's a hard road finding the perfect running backpack but, while not perfect, the Octane 8 is pretty good. The shoulder straps are soft and very comfortable, much more so than the smaller Octane model. I also like the way it can be compressed if you aren't carrying too much.
With only 8 litres capacity it won't be for everyone but I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable small capacity hydration pack for running."

Great Versitility and Value
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Versatile
"Have used many day packs over the years but have found this one to be fantastic with its expansion capabilities. Fine weather cycling with not much more than some energy food or wet weather outings with more gear. The pack sits comfortably and snuggly on your back and the bladder size just right. Love the separate bladder pocket that reduces the risk of wet pack contents and the small pockets that mean no digging down the bottom of the pack for your phone, keys etc. Would definitely recommend this pack for day trips on bike or foot where you need to carry some gear but not the kitchen sink."

Great all rounder
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"Really useful piece of kit, I used to use a much smaller Karrimor Hydra Pack which was great but you can't fit your sandwiches in it.
This Camel Back Starts off at a fairly standard size but it can extend by unzipping the front. The extension is surprisingly large, I was able to fit a complete change of clothes and my sandwiches for the long ride ahead.
The shoulder straps are extremely soft which is great if you wear a vest to ride especially when riding long distances.
Colour options should suit all tastes (I chose orange which I love) but it would be so cool to have a camo colour option.
One of the best things about the whole pack is that the bladder compartment keeps the water cool for ages. (2hrs on my last ride).
The bag is comfortable and seems to fit well, overall a very pleasing purchase."

Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile

"Good sized, adjustable camelbak, but could do with a larger bladder.
2 useful little bags on lowere straps, ideal for spare tubes.

Excellent day sack
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, High Quality, Versatile
"This bag is just what you need in a day sack for hikes or trail runs. It can also be used of course as carryon when flying.
It is highly adjustable - almost too adjustable in terms of tightening thingies that you can't figure out what they tighten - and expands nicely for those occasions where more space is required.
When properly adjusted it fits firmly on the back and stays there withou flopping about even during vigourous exercise which is great. It is also very comfortable and the ventilation bits seem to help keep your back from becoming a lake of sweat. I did get a slight rub once when my T-shirt pulled up but that was partly my fault for not noticing the T-shirt had misbehaved.
If I have one criticism it is that it doesn't fit well on smallish women such as my wife even with all the straps as short as can be."

super versatile backpack
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"I purchased this bag as an alternative to another lightweight running pack that didn't have a hydration system and boy was I happy. Not only is this pack so much lighter than my other camelbak but the zip compression system makes it so much more versatile. I use it for running and mountain biking as it is designed for and find that the ability to expand the capacity comes in very useful, especially in our changable climate. I have 2 other hydration packs a small one and large but now dont use either as this out performs both. I totally love this pack and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. I really cant find a fault with this very well thought out kit."

Superb backpack/bladder
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, stable
Cons: Expensive
"This is the best cycling backpack with bladder that Ive ever used. I've had the Camelbak HAWG and Mule and a Salomon 20l Raid pack in the past and this one fits better than the others without constraining your breathing and has the best tube routing. The external bladder pocket makes loading and unloading the bladder much less hassle.
The expandable size means that when you're not carrying to much it remains stable and yet it can expand to carry a few day's worth of gear.
The belt pockets are great for maps and gels and the back pocket carries my phone and cake money."

Nice piece of kit
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
"I purchased this camelbak to use as a small back pack for my bike and for hydration on my run.
The storage is ample for me to get a change of clothes (all be it flip flops for shoes) in when i remove the hydration pack. It has plenty of small pockets where there is room for a phone, keys and other bits and pieces that you don't want to rummage about in the bottom of the main bag for. I also like that you can expand the size by unzipping the outer most pocket or re zipp it to keep it compact on your back.
I already have a camelbak hyrdation sytem without the back pack which i dislike using on a run (its fine for a bike ride) as it has no lumber belt and therefore bounces on your back when the hydration bag is full. I use the Octane 8 Plus for running and the lumber belt completely cures the bouncing problem.
In my opinion a great piece of kit with great adjustment on straps for comfort and a good balance of storage vs size. It's 2ltr hydration bag gets me through a 2+hr run in hot weather so all in all a nice bit of kit.
"
