Continental Ultra Gator Skins
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Good Fit
"I've been using Continental Ultra Gator Skins for a few years now. I used to swear by Specialized Armadillo tyres as they were also long wearing puncture resistant tyres BUT they were very tight to fit (sometimes taking two people and a lot of effort to fit). When Armadillos weren't available I switched to Gator Skins and haven't looked back.
Typically I'll get 5,500 to 6,500 kms out of a tyre on my back wheel then switch to my front wheel and get another 5,000 kms plus out of each tyre.
I rarely get punctures and find the tyre doesn't present much rolling resistance allowing good fast rides."

Bulletproof
Pros: Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Rugged
"I commute 15 miles each way on Highland back roads in all weathers. Especially after all this snow, the roads are in a shocking state and I was getting loads of punctures with my Schwalbe Luganos. I invested in a set of Gatorskins and, since then, not a single puncture (except, ironically, where a patch came off the Slime inners where it hadn't adhered properly). No issues with grip or traction and relatively easy to fit (just doable without a lever). It's hard to think of anyone running a road bike in worse conditions than I do mine, contending with both country (farm track, mud, potholes, thorns, flints) and urban (glass and other detritus). I'm over 90kg so they're seeing some pressure in the contact patch too."

I actually LOVE these tyres!
Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Poor Fit
"Having been plagued by punctures over the last 2 months (following the big freeze), I decided to swap my Conti Ultra Sports for these bad boys. I've gone from two punctures per week on the commute to zero whatsoever in the 3 weeks I've been riding these. I know it's still early days but the occasional puncture I can cope with! Only complaint is they're a pig to get on the rim! They takes a fair bit of wrestling and some help from a tyre lever but it's definitely worth it. Just buy them, you wont regret it!"

Folding worth the extra quids
Pros: Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"Gatorskin's reputation speak for themselves. I had a near miss last summer: barrelling down a wet country lane, round a bend, land rover ahead, brakes full on, rear wheel locked up but when I backed off the brakes the tyre gripped just in time to avoid a close acquantance with ambulance service. Ever since then won't fit anything else. I decided to pay a little bit extra and get the folding tyre instead of the wire one, and save quite a few extra grams of rotating weight. Was anxious about how it would fit, but it's a piece of cake. Great."

Great Tyres
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
"These are tough and light, ideal for the commute to work, have to cope with glass and generally poor road surfaces so these are essential for trouble free travel."

Training Tyre
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"These units are bullet proof and affordable training tyres. They have a great TPI rating and you get a stack of k's out of them.
Since I have been using the gatorskins, I hardly ever get a puncture! They are hardd wearing, and you get a bunch of k's out of them.
All round awesome training tyre
I have used the Krylion Carbons and they were great too."

Tyres
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"Put these on race bike after having got lots of nicks and cuts in Michelin Pro race 3. Have these on my training bike with no issues. Raced Slateman Triathlon on them and to be honest couldn't tell the difference between these and old Pro Race except didn't puncture and didn't pick up any damage."

The best tyre I have ever run!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Versatile, virtually puncture proof
"Put simply ... this tyre is the best of the best. It wears well, grips well in both wet and dry conditions and have not even looked like getting a puncture after 6+ months of wear, and I've really ramped the riding up over that period. Naturally the rear tends to wear more than the front, so I've rotated mine once so far to keep the wear even. I will never ride on anything other than Conti Gatorskins, they are A+ in my opinion."

Would buy again
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Good Fit
"Brought these for a defy 2. I needed a tyre that would cover some country lanes and not lose too much speed on the quicker roads. Several other riders reccommended them to me. I haven't yet made full use of them but pleased to date."

Most puncture resistant tyre around
Pros: Durable, High Quality
"You can literally ride for 1000s of KMs on one set of these tyres and not have any punctures. Worth checking the tyres occasionally for damage as I have quite a few times found bits of flint and glass stuck in the rubber - no punctures caused but better to take them out. Naturally tyre is a bit heavier than some but a perfect training tyre."

All round Tri tyre (for those that just do it!)
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: tight to fit
"This is the third set of these i have purchased. punctured about 5 times total (over the previous two sets) and two of those was due to not having the correct pressure. Only snag is they are tight on the rim but i have completed several Triathlons now with them and without any punctures. Not the fastest tyres. Word to the wise. Dont pay for the postage. The free postage has been consitantly faster to me over this year, compared to the payed for royal mail."

Gatorskins
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Good Fit
"The continental gatorskins have got to be the best set of tyres in its price range. i have the wire bead version and have been using my set for the last 12 months commuting to work and a bit of leisure and have to say i am more than pleased with them. Not had a single puncture during the 12 months and thats including finding bit of glass in the tyre. They are the best tyre if you want a tyre for both wet and dry conditions, not had any problem riding these in the wet"

A question mark remains
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"I just bought these for a second time. I took the opportunity to combine a few items to take advantage of a special. Now I've had my current tires for around 2000ks. The tread and wear on the road surface of the tire is still really good and as a package I've been really happy with them. But I've just noticed that the sidewall is starting to come apart. They seem to be consstructed using thread that follow the sidewall around the tire and these treads have started coming off. I hadn't intended replacing them for a while and was pretty happy to have a spare set. But given I'm pumping 125psi into them I feel I need to replace them as I really don't fancy a catestrophic failure at speed or around a corner. Time will tell if this is a one off or an inherent issue with these tires. In the meatime I can't reommend them"

Interesting quirks, but decent enough
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit
"First thing... These tires are not as puncture resistant as they seem to claim. I've had 6 punctures this winter, which is not too bad, but these tires have not been a saviour. I also find that they are a bit slippy in wet conditions. Must be the harder compound used or something. Not confidence inspiring, but I guess you just need to ride accordingly.
Nevertheless, wet road means less grip, and poor conditions means higher chance of punctures. Overall, they do the job and they seem to last a long time. They are not too heavy for an all-weather tire, but they are definitely not race tires - my race tires are lighter by 40g each! Plus, I've just done the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix on these, and they were pretty spot on for long rides with cobbles. No punctures or grip issues."

Very durable
Pros: High Quality, Rugged
"I had suffered badly with punctures from the Schwalbe Lugano tyres I had been using and so swapped to these.
Since then, I've commuted throughout autumn/winter over rough country lanes and city roads covered in glass and not had a single puncture in over 2,000 miles. There is also very little sign of wear so they look like they'll go on for some time yet...
Decent rolling resistance and offer great peace of mind."

Absolutely the best commuting tire...
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile
"There is no better tire for commuting than the Gatorskin. They last for ages, are very puncture resistant, and handle perfectly in wet weather. I also recommend running a large size, like 25mm or 28mm if commuting, the ride quality is worth the extra bit of weight."
