Excellent value for money
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: excess wire
"Really pleased with my purchase. I had three criteria when choosing my cycle computer -
1) Cadence function
2) Wired, to avoid any interference with my HRM kit
3) Not overly expensive
This tidy little cycle computer ticks all the boxes. You do need to take a little time and care over the installation, and my advice is to get everything in place before fitting the limited number of tie-wraps - I used some Garden wire temporarily to make sure that I had everything where I wanted it. Follow the instructions and coil the wire to the head unit around the rear brake cable to keep it tidy up front.
I've seen a few comments about the cadence display being a bit small, but this hasn't been a problem for me as I do a lot of my riding in an aero position and so the head unit is right under my chin on the stem.
The unit looks very smart and inconspicuous on the stem and the single body click to change function works very well - you can operate this exactly the same in the Winter with your insulated gloves on.
The only complaint I had was that the wire between the cadence sensor on the crank and the speed sensor on the chainstay was far too long which made it difficult to keep the installation tidy as I had to double the wire back under a tie-wrap to take up the slack. It seems unnecessary unless you have an extraordinarily long back end (ooer!). The only other small problem I had was mounting the cadence magnet to the crank - on my Specialized Allez Sport the inside surface of the crank arms are mostly concave which made it difficult to find a flat surface to stick the magnet on totally flush. But this is more to do with my bike than the Cateye and I worked around it by fitting it further out towards the pedal than illustrated in the fitting instructions - no problems at all, works fine.
Very pleased with this purchase and can highly recommend this computer."

Good reliable unit
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: slightly too small
"Bought this computer as I wanted to have speed, and cadence. Wow what a brilliant unit. The cadence, and speed are both wired, and share the same unit. So fix to the rear of the bike, and off you go. Yes its wired, but for me that's no issue as it reduces interference. Having the sensor at the rear mena turbo trainers can be used without problems. To switch between functions is easy, reset is simple. All in all a very good unit. Worth every penny!!"

Training aid
Pros: Great Value, Versatile
"I am just getting back to cycling and I wanted a device to help me train using a turbo trainer, so I bought this cycle trainer. It was easy to setup, and get started. Your bike does look a bit odd with wires every where, but it has delivered what I want I now know what cadence means and after a quick bit of research after cycling for 30yrs plus I have been peddling to slowly now corrected (85 reps/min) and it has improved my stamina."

A nice tool to help push yourself harder
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: a bit hard to read
"I recently bought a Strada Cadence for my road bike after a good 10 years of using an Enduro 2 on my mountain bike. The Enduro 2 has been really reliable, and is still going strong, but I was keen to finally determine what my cadence was at any given time without having to resort to counting while guessing how long a second was, or counting while checking a a timer for 30 seconds. It seemed that, within the Cateye range, the Strada Cadence fit the bill for what I was after, and within the price-range I could justify.
I managed to install the computer without too much hassle - I ended up having more than the recommended clearance for the wheel sensor, but it still works fine.
So far I've done about 300km with it on, and it has been flawless; the only time it didn't register is when I changed a tyre tube and accidentally knocked the sensor magnet out of alignment - I simply moved it back and it worked flawlessly again.
I think my only criticism of the computer is that it would be great if the lower numbers were a bit bigger and easier to read while wearing sunglasses, or concentrating on the road ahead. One can read the numbers well enough, (bigger would be better), although seeing the little 'C' for cadence or 'Dist' for distance can be tricky without paying more attention than I would like to wile moving at pace on a busy road.
Still, I have been quite happy with it and would most likely buy the same computer again; it has also been really helpful having the cadence to improve my efficiency and overall average speed."

Very good
"It is a small, easy to use computer that tells me everything I need for a reasonable price. I have been using it for over a year, and it has been very good. It is easy to read and seems quite durable having survived a few serious knocks.
There is only one button, so it is easy to use, but it can be a bit of a pain cycling through all of the functions to get to the one you want.
There doesn't seem to be a competitor with the same functions including cadence in the same price range, so this was an obvious choice for me. I have encouraged a few of my friends to get this as well."

Simple, Effective and Robust
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I bought this as a training aid for my first road-bike. I've now done 1,000 miles with it, and I've found it an invaluable tool for all my cycling.
Fitting - Very simple. It comes with a number of cable-ties that can be used to clip the sensors and wire to the bike. The 2 sensors fit on the rear of the frame, and are held in place by 2 cable-tidies each. The wheel magnet screws onto the spoke, and the cadence magnet is cable-tidied onto the pedal crank. The wire then is led along the frame to the handlebars. The main unit has a special clip to fit onto the handlebars, and fits well onto the head bar.
The magnet on the crank does have a slight habit of moving just out alignment with the sensor, however it's a 2 second job to move it back. It's worth spending the extra 5 minutes making sure the fitting is tidy and snug.
Usage - very, vey simple. The instructions contain a list of standard wheel sizes and these are entered in to allow speeds and distances to be determined. The display shows your speed in large, visible numbers (even when going downhill at 40mph over coarse tarmac!),and the secondary display can be swapped between a number of values (trip time, trip distance, cadence, average speed, odometer, clock time) by pushing the display. Resetting trip counters is done by holding the display down for 3 seconds.
Only real downside is that there is no way of storing trip data, however given the price point it's hardly to be expected.
Reliability - Excellent. I'd give it 5 stars for this alone. I've been using this for commuting, sprints, turbo-training and distance work, and (aside from slight movements of the cadence magnet noted above) never had a problem. This includes rain, muddy roads and really bumpy, jaw-rattling roads.
Value for Money - when i bought this I was worried that it was priced as a bit of a budget model, however I've been very impressed with the useability and robustness of it. It's quickly become a vital part of my training rides, and I can see it staying firmly in the middle of my handlebars for a long time to come!
It's worth looking at models such as this that place the sensor on the rear wheel if you have access to a turbo-trainer, as that way you can still use the information (unlike front wheel mounted sensors)."

Top product..!
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Versatile
"As a triathlete, I wanted a cycle computer that did the extra bit - I found it in the Strada Cadence. My training often combines road and Turbo trainer therefore I needed something that would suit both training methods working from the rear wheel, as a front wheel set up wouldn't do. The Strada Cadence is a bril bit of kit, giving accurate readings of speed and distance (and giving the same read-out as my GPS) over short and long distances. Set up is easy and the ingenious 'push the unit' method of changing screens negates the need for fiddly buttons which can be difficult with gloves on or cold hands! Would I recommend it? Yes I would. My only caution is getting the wiring nice and tidy (or maybe that's just me!). Once installed, I have had NO problems, which is unusual with cycle computers. This unit has made my training much easier to track - no more guesswork when on the turbo, just as good information as on the road. I have discovered just how far I can ride without going anywhere..!
Buy one....!"

An excellent product
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"I have the wireless Cateye cycle computer without cadence and it works well. I bought a road bike and II decided to buy one with cadence but the wireless one was a bit more than I was willing to pay. Spotted the wired one at a good price and as I was not too bothered about the wires I decided to go for it. Fitting was easy and it works perfectly."

"Just got this cycling computer to go along with my first road bike. The strada was pretty easy to install, even with the very minamalistic instructions provide. So far i havent found any fault with it. Although i am still getting used to looking down at it (its currently attached to the stem) while riding as it feels a bit scary to take my eyes off the road."

Ideal for rear wheel
Pros: High Quality
"Purchased this to fix on back wheel to use on my Turbo Trainer, it is ideal but had to make up extra spacing to obtain the minimum clearance from the magnet to sensor, need to make up extra spacers for the cadence sensor, but very pleased with results."

Nice computer
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Fitted this so I could see speed on a turbo trainer.
Clear display, easy to set up.
Only slight annoyance was actually installing it, routing wires all over the bike took some time and used alot of cable ties!
Would recommend though"

Does what it says on the tin...
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I bought this computer primarily for use on a turbotrainer (fixed front wheel). Most other computers I came across were designed to be fitted to the front forks so the cables were too short to fit for the rear wheel. As far as I remember most of the wireless systems didn't have the range either. Initially I was just looking for time and distance displays but the cadence meter is now the one I use most. Superb little piece of kit and I'd highly recommend. The cables were long enough to go to the rear wheel and the sensors are barely noticeable on the frame.
On delivery I had regretted not buying a turbotrainer with cadence/time/distance incorporated, but the benefits of the Cateye is that you can bring the computer out on the road for training spins. Sure its another bit of kit attached to the bike but its light and compact enough to go unnoticed.
I've only had it a few weeks but to date I've no complaints."

It arrived quickly and was very easy to fit; essentiall two sensors were placed back to either side of the left chain stay. I've used it on a turbo as well as the road

great value cycle computer
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Good Fit
"Bought this model as I wanted a wired system, wireless eventually is just more hassle in my experience and I wanted the cadence function. Clearly more time is required to fit the sensors and route the wires with cable ties but it's worth it, it just takes care and time, not a difficult job. Has worked well so far the main display is great for speed and the smaller display is adequate for displaying all the other functions. Can certainly recommend this unit."
