Great basic computer
Pros: Great Value, Adjustable, Lightweight
"The Cateye Velo 5 is a great choice if you're just after basic data on your rides.
I'm just a weekend hack, so all I ever want to know is "How fast am I going?", "How far have I gone?", "What speed did I hit on that descent?", "How late am I getting home?". This computer ticks all of those boxes, and you won't cry if you lose it (as I have), as the price is great.

Pros: Great Value
"Simple and accurate piece of kit, does what it says on the tin. Easy to set up with either a generic 26 inch or 700c setting, or a specific measurement. works well in the wet, screen is easy enough to see. I had lost a piece of my old cycle computer, and it turned out cheaper to just buy this than replace parts. I see no real need to buy anything more expensive."

Velo 5 does not have the basic
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Not Enough Features, Bulky
"The Velo 5 Cateye Cyclocomputer does not display Average Speed and Trip Time which are pretty basic features.
That lack of features wasn't clear when I bought it. I recommend the Velo 8 if you want an inexpensive basic computer."

Great gadget
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight, easy to fit
"This little gadget is everything it says "on the tin". Easy to fit and ideal for those long rides when you're not sure how far you're going or you just want to keep track of your speed etc.
Highly recommend.

Good basic cycle computer
Pros: Durable, High Quality
"I bought 2 of these for my daughters' bikes. I wanted something easy to use, cheap but reliable. Having owned a Cateye Strada for the past few years I had no hesitation in sticking with the Cateye brand."

Basic cycle computer
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features
"I expected more from this cycle computer but having said that the basic readings are clear and concise. However, I bought a Union computer at a similar level for the same cost and it had more functions."

Useful and cheap
Pros: Great Value, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit, crummy mounting system
"Does the basics, for the price, that's all you're going to get, but it does them well. All I need to know is how long, and how fast and not much else, so it works fine for me. A gripe is the mounting, using sticky tape to hold the unit onto the bars and fork isn't cool, I had to take the mount off my bars today and the sticky tape/rubbery gummy thing, stayed planted on the bars and now is useless. When I remount it, I'll just either skip the stuff or use a couple of wraps of tape... that's why I gave it a poor fit and such, otherwise, it'll do well on the winter bike.."

Good value
Pros: Great Value
"I've had one of these for about two years and its been good. Bought this one for my son for Christmas. Easy to fit and gives the basic data required for average off road mountain bike use. It is fairly accurate as it gives the same readings as mine when cycling along together."

Simplistic and good
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"I've just got a third bike and passed one on but my first purchase for the new bike was the Velo 5. I've had one on each and would buy another should i get another bike. Ive been out in most conditions and it's worked everytime. About as accurate as you can get without it being GPS, I did a 25 mile ride with my friend who has a GPS computer and it was only a couple of tenths of a mile out, at this price im happy with that!!
Very easy to programme in and so simple to use with one button operation.

Good for the price
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, simple to use
"This was bought for someone else - they wanted a very basic and cheap computer. This has been perfect for the job. It takes approx 25 mins to fix and is very simple to use. The cable ties were a little flimsy, but otherwise it's a good intro computer."

Accurate and Easy To Read
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Unadjustable
"The Velo 5 is a simple, cheap and accurate computer. Easy to fit but is fitted on using double sided tape and cable ties. Easy to set up and use. I have used it in rain and it has worked perfectly. I have had no problems so far with it and would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a simple easy to use computer."

great gadget !
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Lightweight, Good Fit, accurate
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"This basic (only 5 functions) cycle computer from CatEye is a little gem of a product. Easy to install on the bike, easy to set up, easy to use.
There are very few cycle computers on the market that just offer the basic stuff - let's be honest, you don't really need lots of functions that most (higher priced) computers tend to have.
I bought this item for the very reason it simply tells me my Speed, Distance, Max Speed & Odo. PERFECT for my daily commute.
I would highly recommend this product if you just want the basic functions.
I have been using it for approx 4weeks so far, and it is very accurate, another fab poduct from CatEye.
