smart 1 gel sachets
Pros: High Quality
"These gel are in a league of there own they are so smooth that you dont need to take on any fluid after taking one as sis has got the consistancy of these spot on would like them to be available in other flavours like there standard gel possibly sis are working on that as i right this report
I got the bonk 10 miles from home on one of my 4 hour rides this year my head started to fall off i checked in my back pocket and realised i still had one smart 1 gel left not only did it get me home but i was able to kick on up the final acsent too
I no a secret about these particular gels as my brother work with a team that use these and he met the sis guys in switzerland at the world championships they told him that for best results with these they should be squirted into your mouth under your tongue as apparantly they are able to get into the bloodstream quicker that way
worth trying
i hope you like thes as much as i do

Excellent gels
Pros: High Quality
"These gels have got me home when bonked on the side of the road in heat... just can't do better than that.
I am fairly sensitive to caffeine so was wary of that aspect but it's "just enough" to do what you need without any adverse effects for me.
The other bonus is not having to consume 400ml of water to get them down, and whilst not a gourmet experience while ingesting them, they are not at all disagreeable either.
two thumbs up!"

Less disgusting than most..
"Have to say that I find most gels pretty foul tasting but these taste OK, The added caffeine may not work for some but it does for me."

Not great
"I have only used 4 gels from the packet because of the sickly feeling they give. It only lasts for a few mins and the gels work but the taste is vile and I would not recomend."

good boost, good flavour
Pros: High Quality, good flavour
"I've used these a number of times now on runs upto 2 hours.
the flavour is great and not having to drink with them is a bonus. there is a downside of that though as the gels are quite liquidy and easy to spill (very sticky!), they are also a bit larger than others.
the boost is pretty fast acting and lasts a while.
recommended"

mmmm, caffeine!!
Pros: works, subtle flavour, good caffeine hit
"SiS gels are excellent for distance running because they have degrees of flavour. This one is great because there is almost no flavour but lots of caffeine. 2 of these in an hour can really change how you're feeling deep in amongst it after 8 hours on your feet when there's plenty of ground still to cover.
The mild flavour makes these easy to get down even when mouth is over flavour and their high water content makes them easy to absorb even when stomach is over food.
Orange is the next mildest flavour, then tropical, and the blueberry or blackcurrant one, initially a favourite, now tastes kind of gross since getting used to minimal flavouring.
Relative to the non-caffeine SiS gels, these do feel a bit expensive, but they're still great value, high quality, and worth having plenty of on hand."

Brilliant
Pros: High Quality
Cons: Bulky
"These Gels go down as easy as water.
They are a drink not a chew ( most gels have a snot like consistancy ).
They are a little bulky if you plan to carry more than a couple and dont fit in the SIS belt all that well and are hard to get out whilst running.
Stuff them in the pouch instead.
Opening is fine and consuming is no problem."

Not all gels are created equal
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"I purchased the Science in Sport Smart 1 Gels for use on 120+ km rides. I wanted something that was light on the stomach, light on taste and offered more than just energy. The Smart 1 Gels more than delivered this; they are easy to use on the go, are not sticky, have a pleasant taste and can be used without water. The addition of caffeine, anthocyanins and bioflavinoids definitely separates this product from the pack. On long rides, these definitely helped to prevent any sense of fatigue and discomfort usually associated with long rides.
I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for a gel that offers a good, clean supply of energy and that little bit extra.

"These really work. You don't need to drink with these. Unlike the 'normal' SIS gels, the texture and flavour is somehow far more palatable."

Pros: tasty
Cons: Expensive
"Fairly good tasting energy gel that packs a caffiene hit that certainly seems to work. Just a tad expensive to use on a regular basis so I only tend to use these type of gels on really long rides or sportives."

Does the job
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, tastey
"I've long been a fan of SIS Gels and these Smart ones are really smart. They're easy to carry, easy to digest and they hit the spot. I've also diluted them in water and sipped as I run to maintain hydration and energy levels."

Does the Job
"A mixture of these along with the non-caffeine SIS gels are all you should need on a long ride and noticeably better than eating anything solid apart from a banana! I've only tried one or two other gels but find these the most palatable. I never need the recommended intake though, no more than half the intake along with energy drink in one bottle and water in the other is usually a good balance. Everyone is different though and will depend a bit on what you've done and eaten on the days before."

Never leave home without one!
Pros: High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"Brilliant gel.
These are excellent. The difference between the embarrassing phone call for a lift home and racing home!
They taste fine and the packet is robust enough for long distance races.
I have tried others and nothing comes close"
