"Had started to lengthen my rides in time for competition and was getting some chafing particularly on new bike. Figured I'd need some lubrication and after reading reviews on Wiggle decided on Assos.
Can't fault it, spreads on nicely, no strong smells, lovely and cooling whe you first apply it, doesn't stain clothing, seems to work really well
and gives durable protection even when soaked through with sweat.

Assos Chamois Cream - Amazing!!!

"After a year of cycling without using any sort of cream I decided enough was enough - the discomfort was too much and the saddle sores were awful. I read up on Assos products and for the money thought this is not bad a purchase. How right I was! The Assos cream is awesome!!!! It's a very cooling and comforting cream on the nether regions (a bit chilly in these cold temperatures however) and after a nice, gentle 30 miler one morning I noticed that the only thing sore was my pride after dismissing chamois creams as 'daft' (amongst other things). It's anti-bacterial so no nasties can get a hold and the menthol in there proves to be a breath of fresh air (what else could I write considering where it goes?). I'd thoroughly recommend this product - there may be others of equal quality, I don't know, but for me the Assos chamois cream is top of the bunch. I'll definately buy again."

Perfection in a Tub

"You've tried the rest, now try the best! After a year of hammering out 300 km a week and on occasions 500 km a week I can report not one bit of chaffing, blistering or any rash, all of this as a result of this Assoss Chamois Creme. Whether I was riding with a cheap pair of knicks or top-end (Assoss) made no difference, this product just keeps doing its job so that you can focus on the ride. I've used other creams but there is always something amiss such as the texture, consistency or performance. In addition, all of my chamois are in tip-top shape and as good as the day they were bought on the back of the quality of this cream. Need I say more...buy it!"

Why Assos Chamois Creme?
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, it just works!
"I was a long time user of the Assos chamois creme. It had seen me through numerous MTB and then road cycling adventures.
At some point I ran out and was too lazy to buy another.
I lasted about 2-3 months before the sores and subsequent infections got the better of me. You would have thought I was smart enough to just buy another tub? No, not me!
I went to the local bike shop and was recommended a petroleum based alternative. This was much like vaseline in consistency and appearance. This product was almost as bad as no creme at all, and the sores developed into cysts and nearly drove me off the bike!
Finally, in a moment of illumination, I purchased another tub of the Assos creme. After a couple of months, things had returned to normal.
I dont know what it is, but the Assos creme works for me. It is not slippery like the petroleum based products, it seems to have some antiseptic properties and does not discolor my knicks; even the white ones."

"Assos have developed this product over countless years of applied feedback and knowhow from the people who do the most miles ,the pros. It has resulted in the almost perfect product .It will quite simply reduce the problems of chafing associated with high mileage training .It has the cooling additive of the menthol which is the icy icing on the cake .Quite simply if you experience saddle related soreness then try a cream and if you intend to try a chamois cream then why use anything but the best .Start with this product and I'll be surprised if you try another quite frankly."

Save Biffen's Bridge!

"I was wholly sceptical when I first heard of this product but was reassured by a friend that this would be THE most valuable addition to my cyclist's wardrobe that I would ever make. Hmmm. Okay.......
Well, upon opening the jar, it looks appealing enough (pale greeny blue) but it smells fantastic - all minty and medicinal. Spreading it on my chamois insert was a teeny bit messy and then when I first put my shorts on it felt all cold and weird, but then went all warm and tingly. A not unpleasant experience!
In practise, it works fantastically well. No chafing or rubbing/hotspots whatsoever even on the 5+ hours of the Dragon Ride in S.Wales. Somewhat interesting conversation with my girlfriend in the car on the way though.

"I purchased this to ensure that I survived a 300 mile charity cycle with very little training. It works brilliantly and a little bit goes a very long way. Despite one 95 mile day I had no chafing and was able to continue comfortably the next day. A much more experienced cyclist on our trip using Vaseline found no such benefits and this product soothed his existing sores on the final day! 1/4 of the tub has lasted nearly 500 miles."

"Having tried other creams, this is by far the best I've ever tried. It has an instantly cooling effect and improves comfort level on 70+ mile rides. Although more expensive than other creams, you don't need as much for each use so this makes it far more cost effective than you may think. A must-buy product ;0)"

"I was surprised at how affordable the Asos cream was. I had originally used a trial size pack which lasted ages. I can't see this jar ever ending!

If you've ever suffered from a few hours in the saddle, or want something to make things a little easier, then this is without doubt the best money you'll ever spend. There's a reason its the leading brand, and like other brands, is the reason you pay a little more for it.
Really easy to apply, and isn't oily or too thick. Leaves a nice cooling sensation that will last for as long as you need it.

"Oh yeah - this is the daddy of all Chamols cream. It cools and soothes like none of the others I've tried and works for as long as you do - you need to put enough on to start with mind. A finger full of cream will last you a full day in the saddle, those sensitive bits still feel fresh and more importantly not soar or raw.
It's not cheap but then cheap chamois cream isn't good and good chamois cream isn't cheap!"
